If there were no new DLC, I could finally catch up with purchases, lol :D

If R* stop releasing content, players will do it for them. There are tons of custom jobs to play.

I have to say I would probably do the same, I mean I still play on GTA 3 multi-player (Liberty Unleashed) & I'm pretty sure R* will either change things around to allow custom servers with mods & just leave it to the community made stuff like five-m ect, not sure what this would mean for console players however :/ That being said & out of the way... I am fairly confident the creators will still continue to make stuff & modders (the good kind) keep games alive indefinetly & if things like Tf2 are anything to go by it's likely we'll be getting updates for some time yet..

Edit: Maybe if they do an EOL update they will give us a mission creator.. yes there will be some troll quality stuff, but there will also be some amazing stuff too... imagine if we could even create cutscenes to go with them coupled with the editor! :D

Just my thoughts :)

GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

I'd buy everything I want then I'd probably play once or twice a week and just mess around. All the new stuff is putting me off playing a bit there is still a lot of older stuff I want and I can just buy it all but a lot of new and very expensive stuff keeps getting added and I don't want to buy the older stuff incase I can't afford new stuff.

No Use For A Name

No.

I rarely play as it is. This game has devolved into my character sitting on the couch while I work, sitting on the couch while I watch

Netflix or football, sitting on the couch while I entertain guests, etc.

I only logged on this morning to buy the Nokota. Wasnt even interested in the plane itself, only finishing off my pre-1960 virtual airplane collection.

At this point its like a video game version of Stockholm Syndrome. I half want to go paint my entire 60-car garage chrome. That might disgust me enough to finally be done with this retarded game and company for good

I said: Maybe (with explanation).

I have returned to playing here and there, though certainly with a less passion than those earlier days naturally, and I plan to keep chipping away at things, buying little bits and goofing about, chatting a lot of the time, TBH...

I would stay/keep doing my thing for now as there's many awards in the stats menu I keep planning to finish off, so I'd like to do those, no matter how long it takes.

But for me to want to actually play properly I really do need garages, I know this is a often mentioned complaint by me and some others, but it's key for me, as buying and selling, to then buy again has happened too often only for more property to come.

In short, I'd look to wrap it all up and 'complete' the game (my interpretation, at least) and look ahead. Namely... Red Dead Redemption.

@ fw3... Another cool thread, I do like to natter here, but you do ask/pose some really cool threads to get the ball rolling dude. Kinda jealous of the creativity here at times... I'm bloody useless, lol...

Peace.

Oh definitely but probably a lot less

Gotta hand it to Rockstar, as horrible and painful the drip feed is, it's one of the only things that gets me to log on every week.

... Heck, I still haven't played the single player mode!! LOL!! :)

Ahh yeah definitely give the SP a go - I'm sure you'll like some of the dynamics and missions used.

The single player is a MUST!

It's superior to GTA Online in so many ways, I don't even know where to start.

Just do it! It takes a a week or so to complete the main storyline. And it's worth taking a break from Online!

None of my IRL friends bother to play Online, but most of them enjoyed the story.

I wouldn't stop playing completely, I'd probably just do what I'm doing now though, which is playing for short bursts in between playing other games.

The main updates and post-update weekly content are what brings me back all the time.

One update alone can get me playing regularly for a good few months at least, even with SR and I'm not a fan of it, apart from the land vehicles.

Probably have more reason to move on to Red Dead 2 and Last of Us 2. Somehow doubt any plugs will be pulled anytime soon though. Gta online is making so much $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ off players.

I pretty much play ESO primarily, while occasionally playing gtao. It would take a map expansion, or a Midnight Club style update without the dripfeed to get gta back on the top of my list again.

The wildlife alone bring it to another level... Like RDR in a way, seems so dynamic and that there's little world going on dude...

Stocks and shares too, the depth is awesome...

Kifflom!... Enjoy, fw3.

Yes! I'll definitely have to be dragged away kicking and screaming from GTAO unless its for 2.0/VI

Most definitely not. If it was announced tomorrow that Smugglers run was the last update, I would immediately log on, buy what I've wanted then log off within the hour or so.

However, I would easily keep playing if r* would focus all efforts on tweaking and adjusting the game. That would go a long way, but we don't live in a perfect world.

They'll never outright say they're stopping updates tbh

They'll let us figure it out the hard way :(

I've been playing on and off since it launched on ps3 so I'll probably keep playing on and off until the next one.

Even if they don't update it, other players will still make new races, and other jobs. Those user made jobs keep me on more than the weekly plane/car releases.

People complain but I like what they did with the DLC; add little features and toys for free, unless you want it all then you'll need sharkcards. I would've preferred waiting&paying for a big dlc with new toys, features, and a new island but we got a good deal... and that's from someone who bought it twice. At least they didn't drip feed us little bits of story content to buy. By the time the gta4 stories hit the ps3, I saw it all on youtube and wasn't really interested in paying $40 for more missions in the same 4 islands i already explored to death.

That being said, I can't believe some of you still haven't played GTAV story mode. Go do that, now. It's especially satisfying for others who weren't satisfied with the GTA4 dlc.

Yeah, if there's some kind of mission creator that lets us create our own custom missions to extend the fun factor and the replayability. If there's everything I want in that game, I'd play it until the next one came.

Thank you so much for the kind words, KFW1981. It means more than you know!

As for your reply to the topic, I have to agree that I'm the same way. I don't play these days for weeks. When I rejoin, there's really nothing to get excited about.

I do love the Oppressor, but it's got me ignoring all my other vehicles.

The downside for me, and many others, is that the game has been quirky since release and has never, ever, EVER changed: "Connection lost due to..."

I played tonight for two hours and in that time I was sent back to Single Player five times. It's ridiculous. I joined several races to mix it up, and the same knobs who pit-to-win were pitting-to-win... reminded me too much of GTAVI:Multiplayer racing.

So yes, the idea of no new DLC would lead me to wrap things up, finish up the overall affair with the game, and move on to a new muse.

Again, thank you for the kind words! Cheers! :)

You should play around with the capture creator. There's a lot you can do with that thing.

But bring someone with you to play, nobody joins captures anymore.

Considering how most of the people playing GTA 5 only picked it up for Online, and because everybody else is playing it, I say they'd just jump on the "people still play this game?" bandwagon. I won't even acknowledge those morons.

But me? I always looked at GTA Online as something more than any other game I've played. Freedom. Creativity. Everything from creating your character, to making up their story as you go. So no, it wouldn't matter if the last DLC is current, or in the future, I'd still play GTA if the servers are on. Most games I play end when all the enemies on the map disappear after you take over, or there's no new game plus and its a pain in the f*cking ass reclaiming everything you waisted hours to get.

I use my imagination when I play, so boredom is just a word.

Once R* stops supporting GTAO with new stuff, my friends and I will probably move to a private online like 5M. So we'll keep playing... sort of.

All good dude.

Yeah, for me too. Racing isn't what it once was for me on old gen. That's for sure...

Looking back though, the sports classics had a good year, I really hope that continues... Less supers/sports and more of all other classes, if more comes beyond December's expected stuff...

Also, as many have mentioned. The creative side of the game, something that's lost on me, but I do love many jobs players created over the years. So I can see that keeping players busy for ages too, and the camera/video guys too, of course. If they added a mission creator as that last DLC I'd certainly not object. By then, hopefully, shark cards are all but done with here so they'll have less influence...

But then reading the R* guys stuff of late... Oh dear, oh dear indeed. Feels like creativity took a hit.

I only play to make Oppressor destruction videos and if my crewmembers are online. Knowing them, theyd completely stop playing a few months after Rockstar announces they dropped creating DLC for GTAO, thus incentivizing me to stop playing as well.

I get you, but there's only so much you can do with them. I managed to do a Grotti-stealing capture mission, and even if it's mildly impressive, it's still not what I have in mind. I have this wish to create something co-op, where players are split into teams to a main objective. Maybe create a series of missions to resemble a heist.

Yea, captures are limited to fetch quests and its been out for a long time now but i still enjoy making/playing them. A heist creator would be awesome.

Yes, I'll continue to play as if nothing changed. The lack of dlcs never stopped from me playing & enjoying GTA.

I'm not sure how to explain this so please bear with me while I try.

I'm a GTA lifer, I go way back to the top down era & I've developed quite an addiction for it ... #TheAddictionIsRealz.

GTA III turned the dial into 11 for me & I've played it almost everyday. Although I enjoyed Vice City, it didn't do it for me (Miami Vice was before my time), but San Andreas broke the gauge all together for me & pushed my addiction to another level. IV & V built on that.

I play exclusively solo, so I treat GTAO like an SP even though its not as polished as V's SP.

I don't know what's coming tomorrow... If any & I play like that. My experience with Android OS thought me to accept things for what they are NOW & not fall for the promise what it might do a week, a month or a year from now. If that makes any sense.

I tried cutting back on GTAO multiple times in the past year & a half by playing Forza Horizon 3, Metal Gear V, Need For Speed, Sleeping Dogs & Saint Row 3, but all I could think of is when can I get this over with so I can return to GTAO? Lol.

I can't cut & run on it because dlcs stopped, I learned a lot of things from the franchise & I can't imagine my life without it.

For sure. The DLC isn't what keeps me playing anyway. I didn't buy ANYTHING from the Smuggler's Run update. :/
