I believe death it just the end of this consciousness, the building may fall, the stones and dust will remain. Nothing is truly lost and will form something different over time, for as far time exists anyway. The moment consciousness is gone, perception of time also goes out the window. For all i know, this life is just what we believe it is because of limited sences, in order to make any sence of whatever it really is. Life may be an elusion, existance in one way another not so much. This right now is just how we experience whatever our current existance allows us to perceive. However if there is such thing as afterlife and material is present, i would pretty much myself be able to produce whatever i want . So if materialistic things go out the window to take along, staying in touch with family would be a good thing. However i believe myself we simply should accept nothing lasts forever and we will lose everything including out very being sooner or later. Materialistic things matter the least if you ask me. However in the end nothing really matters and at the smallest level, we are just material/energy ourselfs. Which is basically the same thing if you think about it.
