Losing money with ammo glitch?

Alright so I was doing contact missions and after finishing one I noticed I had to pay almost 73K for ammo. Wondering where in the f*ck I used that much ammo (as I resupply after every mission which typically cost $100-5000) I opted out of buying it so I can go to ammunation and see what weapon needed so much ammo. I found out my sniper had all but 23 bullets (not the mk2 heavy sniper). I decided to buy the max ammo again thinking it was a glitch and wouldn't happen again. It's happened about 4 or 5 times this week; always the sniper; always 23 bullets left - and I have no idea why.

I had the same issue. I contacted R* support, made a ticket and provided a clip of me buying ammo, changing sessions, and losing the ammo.

The support person looked back at my purchase history and refunded 200k.

Submit a support ticket, they'll hook you up. However, the bug still exists.

.Diana McFarland.

one thing i always found annoying.

When you die with a weapon in your hand, you lose like 1-2 ammo for it.

It gets especially annoyng w/ Rockets and explosive sniper ammo.

ewoing gets pretty costly

Do you buy it at the lobby screen or at the leaderboard right after finishing a mission? Never do the second one, it always charges you an absurdly high amount for some reason. I've never had the lobby screen charge me an extremely high amount for ammo unless I know that I actually used that much. Either way, it looks like a bug in your case that you might want to report to Rockstar Support.

I had an issue with this once. Somehow support 'refunded' the money less than 30 minutes later, and closed the ticket. About a week later they removed that, and more calling it illegitimate money. Nothing has been done to correct their mistake.

It's happened to me twice today in the last 3 hours that ive played lmao I guess I'll contact R* and see what they say...:/

@Rafae I have bought from both and haven't noticed a difference when buying ammo.

@Diana yeah it does that's why I now have my default weapon in missions set to nothing so if I get killed while away, at least I won't drop ammo

I broke the100k barrier with this ammo glitch. Shotgun and sniper ammo and occasionally the machine gun ammo depending on which one of my two characters.

This happened to me several times in the last month. I contacted support and less than 3 hours later got this message:

"We have provided you with GTA$733,746. Thanks for your patience"

This was about twice as much as I reported to have lost in my support request, but maybe their maths is better than mine... I did have the same problem a year or 2 ago several times so maybe they were able to add up all the extra money I've been charged.

733,746 is a very specific amount, suggesting it's based on data they have for all my purchases, rather than just making a judgement on my support request and saying "ok we'll give this poor chap $400k"

f*ck this bug. I purchased ammo sh*t but every time I started a new mission, I needed to pay 18K for ammo sh*t . I used the buzzard for some missions and it only required $200. f*ck rockstar. I have stopped to purchase ammo for missions now.

You've lost one magazine of a firearm's capacity since the game released in October 2013 (GTA Online), or one explosive from those heavy weapons, when any of those were equipped before dying.

So perhaps don't EWO as much?

It has something to do with that new ammo for the mk sniper.

Happened twice to me. I went back to regular sniper ammo. Has never happened again.

Basically, the sniper rifle is broken.

You're stuck with 32 bullets or whatever it is for the foreseeable future.

I'm certainly not going to contact Rockstar every time this happens, because it happens every time. I don't buy but a few clips for it anymore.

I got a response from R*.

They want:

"A video of accessing the weapon wheel showing the Sniper Rifle displaying your gamertag in the video that shows all the four corners of the screen."

Then once they get that they'll investigate. Hopefully something good comes out of this.

I do use explosive rounds on my mk2 sniper I wonder if I switch back to normal rounds it'll fix it like Lola said. But I like my explosive rounds :(

happened to me coming out of heists too many times, i changed all my weapons back, no more problems

Changed all your weapons back as in no more mk2 or do you just mean back to standard ammo.

That's a result of your own stupidity. Not only is ewo a cowards move buts if you do it while holding an RPG or explosive sniper you are a coward and a moron.

Obviously your problem is buying stripper clips for a gun that only uses magazines.

Jesus Christ R* got me jumping through hoops to prove to them what I'm saying is the truth. You'd think they'd just be able to look at my transaction history :S

To anyone that's gotten a refund from this issue; have you had to send videos to them as proof? And if so, what did you use to show them? I tried just emailing the video but it was compressed and sh*tty quality and now ive tried uploading the video to google drive and sent rockstar that. Hopefully it'll be good enough...

I wasn't asked for any proof, I assumed they had looked at the logs and knew how much to refund me. Since then it's cost me about another 100k so no sign of a fix

So after all that... They refunded me just under 73K - the price of one max ammo purchase. Even though, I stated multiple times that I've had to replace the ammo 5-7 times in the past week - twice on the day I submitted the ticket.....useless R* staff....*facepalm*

The least they can do is give you a shark card discount.

Lmao I'd laugh at that. No way I'm paying real money to them for in game currency when theyll slowly steal it back via glitches like this anyway.

Update:

So I was refunded another 360(ish)K and was told: "If the issue occurs again, please provide us a video showing that you have purchased the ammo and randomly it is missing."

Anyone have any idea how I would record a random glitch like this? (Aside from recording every minute I play the game)
