One thing I don't get about cargo warehouses

I remember cheaters filling up their warehouses quickly using teleport. Then Rockstar fixed it by exploding the instance vehicles and leaving crates behind the teleporter and everyone started to dupe again.

I drop a crate now and then between car sales. It is sometimes fun to do a sale using new vehicles.

Doing crates non stop with VIP Work in between will make you want to stop playing the game. Don't do that.

Almost, but certainly swore me off crates for a while. (That last 100 or so... Ouch!).

But since then, and before I learned of the Securoserve statue, I was/do thoroughly enjoy crate running dude. Nice bit of side cash when I do sell my bits and pieces. Mixed with I/E and bikers/bunker... Great cash.

I do feel that this crates DLC was the better implemented of all the businesses looking back. Incentives and rewarding, though, 1000 was harsh. Without impacting those that opted out from doing this, other than cash, but cash is anywhere if you're good/consistent at something, for me anyhow races/missions/heists always paid, this was just a sweet addition that you could start small and cheap and work up to the discounted cars etc. Or flat out avoid with little consequences.

I/E, as a car man myself got a pass, and as they added NPC's for lone sessions, choices were there, so even though they locked vehicles away in the w/h only, you could still look to ignore the DLC if it didn't suit you, or you could play in a traditional GTA fashion... PvE... Biker's changed nought either, for so long PvE was accepted man...

But from then on, well, my negatives are known to those that have read my comments elsewhere, but I do really think with the crates stuff, the actually gave it a lot more thought than this years stuff. I have no experience with the hangers, but after a good read, I'm not convinced it's PvE friendly, and other than a few collections to unlock tune ups, little incentive to continue with all the choices I have, missions, heists, crates, I/E, bikers, and I've still got bunker pap to unlock... Bah... It could be great, we shall see, I might take a ganders this week once life free's me up.

But I know I'll always run crates as and when. I find them relaxing in small shifts.

By the way, how often do the Special Items pop up? I have a small warehouse for over a week now and my assistant never called me about any.

Totally random in my experience too dude (1350+ collections). Though as said, doing a good few at a time is ideal. Also, if your out and about doing other things, sometimes the assistant may call, you don't have to be in your organisation for it to happen either, you could be just loading in, left a heist/job, anything... But if she calls, don't ignore it, as sometimes these special items can happen even without running crates, or CEO at all.

And you can store the special items, up to 6. One of each. I tend to sell them immediately, but some like to collect all 6.

Also if you do fear the dreaded raids, whatever the percentage, as I'm not sure. Make sure, like the bikers/bunkers stuff, you quit the CEO through your inventory before leaving the warehouse and then restart it at the office laptop. Basically, as for any business, never be outside and start an organisation if you have product/supplies. Always retire and restart from in the respective business. Avoids it all. I/E though doesn't get raided, but by being in a I/E CEO org. Your crates are exposed.

42 crates collected in one game session.. not too shabby ;)

The good thing about the crates is that with faster and better PV's and choppers it will eventually pay more per hour than it did originally. I assume you can do a little more than the original 300k per hour now with an oppressor out in the field all the time.

^ f*ck all that tbh. Doing it old school with just using cars (especially from the Executives - FAFF era) made it feel so much more authentic and fun. Only used a Buzzard when absolutely necessary.

This damn thread got me doing crates again.

Me too 😱.

I devised a plan to capitalize on the upcoming Christmas bonus, fingers crossed for 2x$ like last year.

I plan on filling my 3 large warehouse by doing 3 missions a day, one for each warehouse with a couple of Headhunters & a Sandking to pay for the costs ... It would take me 37 days to fill em. If everything goes to plan, I'll be done by December 12th, close enough to the Christmas bonuses.

I could get anywhere from $6.6 millions to $13.2 millions in pure profit by the time I'm done.

Ha! I'm planning to do the same, used the Verlierer & Bestia for today's quota.

Now that I think of it, if they do a 2X event for crates it probably would be good to have a load of them ready to sell.

But I filled up warehouses non-stop back in the day, and yeah - it really made me hate them lol. By the end I couldn't bear doing any crate work. I kind of went off the game for a while too after that.

If I do it it'll have to be slowly and just built up over time. But then, that'd cost me money - at a time where I need it for the remaining Smuggler's Run aircraft. Not sure what's after Smuggler's Run too - might have stuff I'm into, might not.

I think I used to fill both large warehouses in 10 hours? that's what I seem to remember anyway. about 7 minutes per mission is the average you are looking at for 3 crates.

I used a Hydra right from the first week of crates, didn't take long to figure out that was superior to the Buzzard.

It took me closer to 12 ... I once did it in a single session, needless to say, I didn't touch GTA for a week.

I sticked to the SecuroServ Buzzard, I found flying out to the helipad in Vespucci to be counterproductive (I own a Lombank office).

I have Arcadius and the warehouses to the east so it's pretty much a fly over to where I'm going anyway for me. I really should have glitched a Hydra into a garage while the chance was there just in case I wanted an insta spawn one for the future.

I find Arcadius+Darnell to be the most effective set, I can complete most of missions under 7 min, sometimes its 3-4 min for easiest ones which feature decent vans like grey Speedo or Rumpo Custom. The bane of Special Cargo are Campers, Zirconium Journey, BP Surfer and that kind of slow vans from my point of view.

Its not grindy as I did it during IE cooldowns, hence I don't play 50 Special Cargo missions in a row.

I think the grind eases so much with time, once you have other options with bikers, I/E and such, it becomes less 'needed' to be run so we can pop back as and when it takes our fancy. Money-wise, just don't need it as such. But on top of that, knowing your routes and all the jobs, including the variants, you know?...

Me, from my Maze tower, it takes me seconds to get to 3 of my warehouses as I know 'my' roads, air too of course. So easily underrated is experience in this game I find.

Much like when I get into random heist, it fails a few times, and I've not once been the cause (aside the odd clanger, naturally), only for the others to tell me what to do for success... At my rank, I know, but I do smile when I hear someone really talking the team through it all, knowing I'm off, job done if left to me...

Always entertaining, bit off topic I know, but that experience of just getting stuck in and learning is lost on some. This DLC particularly just gets easier and easier to me.

I learned a lot here from your answers. I might try crates for the first time just because of this thread.

Also, I haven't tried it yet but from what I understand it's easier than ever to get a solo public session on xb1.

Yep, you can just pick it up from the Hospital on your way.

I have Lombank + Logistics, Cypress WH & Bligco (used to have Furniture Store first). I tried picking the Hydra from the Hospital on my way back to the office, but Lombank had this bug that Pegasus reclaims your aircraft once you're inside ... So it became waste of time & money for me.

The bane of Special Cargo are Campers, Zirconium Journey, BP Surfer and that kind of slow vans from my point of view.

Honesty. I'll take those slow vans over the scattered crates any day, all day, everyday.

You don`t get raided if you stay under 50%.

It is actually safe under 80%

I also read somewhere it`s 65% so what is now? 50, 65 or 80% anybody knows the real number?

80%

Even above 80% you're safe if you are paying attention to cargo warehouses (any, not just the one you're nearing capacity with) and keep adding crates to them and not doing non-crate work. It's not as bad as the Biker businesses that can get raided as soon as you walk out the door with only a small amount of product or supplies inside.

Also, you can solo a full 111-crate sale, under most circumstances. You may have to fly multiple aircraft or multiple trucks or scout ahead and destroy NPCs in your own aircraft first, but it's not literally impossible to complete in time, alone, like some full-sales are of Biker Businesses or Smuggling or Gunrunning.

I've done 7 full-warehouse (111 or 42) sales and never had a associate with me*. That includes Titans, Cubans, Brickades, and the Tug.

*I had one partial-warehouse sale with an associate with Cuban 800s and one full-sale with a non-associate friend in his Buzzard that blew up attacking players.

Whenever I have a nearly full large warehouse I start collecting and selling 1 crate in my small warehouse. You never get the same delivery vehicle twice in a row (as long as you stay in the same session) so once I get a cuban for 1 crate I then sell my big WH safe in the knowledge I will get Brickades or a Tug & not a Titan - and again only do it in a solo/lagged or very peaceful session.

I stopped since raids have become commonplace with gunrunning.

It was possible to stay under 65% to avoid raids, not sure what's about it now. Crate grind is too hard for me and clean office is amazing to look at. But honestly, my main issue with crates is the fact that you're paying for them and working your ass simultaneously. I never source supplies for my Bunker, never used to source supplies for biker crap back on X1 either.

$18,000 crate fee shouldn't be what you see. 3 crates = $42,000 profit 2 crates = $32,000 profit 1 crate = $18,000 profit. Doesn't seem apparent that you're wasting time and money until you source 1 crate vs 3 and end up with a van to drive back. 3 crates or bust.

That is how I think about it. Although it does hurt when I get that "plane crash" cargo mission and have to haul my ass here and back again as if I was Bilbo Baggins. Chopper helps but flying gets even more boring than driving. Still, I like the whole warehouse business so far. Gonna make my first huge sale tomorrow - hopefully me or my friend won't crash into a tower or something, becaus losing all that money... *boils at the very thought*.

Exactly, so you are making 42k clean profit every 7 minutes, day in day out, always. That's the reality of crates and that's why they are still good.

I stopped since raids have become commonplace with gunrunning.

Did they change it really? I haven't done a crate since gunrunning but I was never raided back in my crating days, not even once and I filled the large warehouses lots and lots of times.

*ears perk* Christmas bonus? That'll be a thing?

Yessir 🙃! we got a 50% bonus on all Special Cargo sales, Import\Export & Biker businesses last year.

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60086/GTA-Online-Festive-Surprise-Holiday-Bonuses-Los-Santos-Snowfall

I made something in the area of 12 million dollars & used the Import\Export business to finance the crates 😎🏻.

The sale with the Titan was nerve wrecking though, visibility was almost zero at night because of the snow lol ... Think Die Hard 2.

____

Regarding your first big sale tomorrow, if you get the planes & feel like you are about to crash, turn off your console. Losing 3 crates as a penalty beats losing everything.

Also, buy the Plane Armor if you can. It's the most vital upgrade of the bunch.

Thanks. Already bought all the upgrades except the jammer one because I'm not sure how important it is to have since I'm mostly playing in empty sessions. I sw videos of people pretty much crashing and then getting back up in the air with the upgraded armour, so yeah, that one looks like a must have. Anyway, good to know, gonna fill my both warehouses before Jesus was born.
