Not all players in GTAO are toxic try hard griefers (a positive thread)

Minding my own business last night playing as a lone wolf not doing much apart from a bit of IE I noticed my session had 6 people in the same crew doing MC work and alternating between each other working well.

I messaged one ofthe leaders asking if I could join as I don't play witha crew any more and they invited me. I am from the UK but judging by the names I guessed they were French (they were, one of them messaged me to ask where I was from and I asked back)

Anyway, worked with them for a good 3 hours and they invited me to their crew - we alternated doing IE, MC, Bunker, Hangar, piracy prevention on each others yachts and nothing went wrong - the sales (I had a full hangar and bunker to sell) were seemless and well organised and I helped with their stuff as well.

After we were all finished one of them set up an invite only session and we had a cruise and car show after hours of selling and 'hard work'.

So, just by chance I found a good bunch of people and a crew which means from now on I can work to get stuff done with people I can trust (well, so it seems anyway)

I am rank 480 and every player in the crew was between 350 and 550 so evidently they have spent some time together working. I did join them in a party but their English was patchy and my French is practically non existent but luckily it was enough to get by and get the work done.

Yes, a positive for once and even better they manage to get solo lobbies some how!

You met a solid crew, cool. Majority of the playerbase are still toxic tryhards. Try going into a full or populated public lobby and have the same experience you did with this crew.

Yeah I know, doubtful a full hangar/bunker sale would have been so successful but I will take what I can get!

I always sell in as full lobbies as I can because of the high demand bonus and I rarely have any problems with players coming after me at all.

Often I also see other players doing sales in full lobbies without a problem but maybe I'm lucky with the lobbies I'm in

I know using solo lobbies is getting away from the point of the game but say I am selling a full bunker for $1m I would rather get the $1m safely than a paltry extra high demand bonus and risk having it blown to pieces.

I also forgot about the double $ on hangar so when I sold 50 narcotic crates yesterday I think I got about $2.4m with the bonuses!

Honestly these experiences happen all the time. It really depends on how you approach people and who you approach.

There are alot of people who are locked in PvP, usually a majority of the lobby (I give you that), but there are also a few folks who are actively selling and moving cargo. Not everyone knows about the various ways to force a solo lobby and there are some who simply don't care to go through the motions. In any given public lobby at any given time there's generally someone trying to make some cash.

Volunteers could start by helping these dedicated CEOs/MCs/etc fend off NPCs and other players by using your actions to show you'd be a help to them. One could also just try messaging these folks and accepting their invites. In addition, there are some modes and missions that are attached to many of the vehicles/businesses Rockstar added to the game. Some of these you can join on call and after the mission ends you're still a part of that org in their session so you can contribute helping them from there. I don't think the cooperative vibe is dead, but we're so closed off and paranoid about each other - understandably so - that alot of the good vibes are overlooked or never get to happen. If players could overcome this, we'd all be better off.

Unfortunately however, the payouts for associates is terrible and it's more efficient/lucrative to do your own thing. So there's not really any incentive to overcome this. As discussed in a different thread, the need for an incentive is a crucial motivational tool and this has a very negative effect on teamwork. If anything, such division is only encouraged by Rockstar itself with big flashing messages to earn money and RP by working against your fellow player, not with them. Players have to cooperate in spite of all this, but it does happen. It's just not as attention-grabbing or visceral as stories about destruction and whatnot.

Thats generally the problem of GTAO, even more on PC when all is locked because cheaters*, there is little to no redistributive mechanisms(but heists), the consequences is that peoples must buy everything, and make rotations, and so re-play 4 times the same missions.

* like the inability to share money from Headhunter, I should check if the option has been re-enabled recently.

I'm not against people using solo public lobbies I did it myself all the time in the past and would actually prefer that if I did supply runs.

I'm only pointing out that I don't think public lobbies is as bad as most people say it is and that I almost never have problems selling in a full lobby.

This also has something to do with the title of the topic and that there must be less toxic players than some people make it out to be

You can also close the game before it saves if things get blown up and you only loose a very small portion of the value

As already said, we have threads for this particular comment. Good to hear somebody isn't bellyaching about the game for a change though.
