DavidNK
We know that a PED is usually composed of up to four or sometimes five files. With the following extensions: Ped. dds Ped. ydd Ped. yft Ped. ymt Ped. ytd Sometimes lack the archiv .dds in some peds. To modify the textures, use files with the extension .dds (but compressed files), which have names like: uppr diff 001 c pak.dds (to give an example) My question is the following: 1.- This compressed .dds file must replace, if it has the .dds from ped original? 2.- or should I keep both files .dds files 3.- I must modify its file name by "ped.dds"? 4.-that new .dds file should be located in the same place as the rest of the files (of ped)? Using Open IV. Thanks buddies Greetings.
Guest
I have never seen a Ped.dds in any Ped. A Ped has 4 files, ydd - The drawable model yft - The skeleton ymt - The meta file that defines the drawables and texture variations ytd - The texture dictionary that contains the DDS texture files Do you have an example of one of these Peds with 5 files? DavidNK
LeeC2202. Hi dude. You're right. There are four files that make up a ped. ydd - The drawable model yft - The skeleton ymt - The meta file that defines the drawables and texture variations ytd - The texture dictionary that contains the DDS texture files I apologize to you and to all in Forum. My first post and I was wrong. Sorry, sorry. I show you and example about .dds files to install with Open IV and change original ped. Name: Mai Shiranui - Camouflage Trousers and blouse + Shoes 1.0 You can replace any ped, in this way: Rename files that you decide to replace, for example "a_f_y_tourist_01" or any other peds you want to replace: This original game ped has 4 files: a_f_y_tourist_01.ydd a_f_y_tourist_01.yft a_f_y_tourist_01.ymt a_f_y_tourist_01.ytd And you must add this file: uppr_diff_001_c_pak.dds Where? With Open IV, these are the paths: mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mppatchesng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\mppatches.rpf and in that "directory" you can see the a_f_y_tourist_01.ytd file And there you must add the dds file. And here's my doubt 1.- Replace ytd file for dds file. 2.- Rename dds file as _f_y_tourist_01.dds I don't know bro. I've seen 100 of peds with those files. In the example The ped looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/giqtM Listen. This not a ped I've done, please. But in 5Mods you can find a lot ped using that files. Thank buddy for your help. Guest
No need to apologise, I asked because I don't know everything about Peds, so there could very well have been a situation where more files were used, I just wanted to clarify that first because I hadn't seen one. DDS files go inside ytd files, so you don't replace a ytd with a DDS file, because they are different files, you replace the file inside it. So let's just go through a couple of things. Have you installed this mod first? https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/mai-shiranui-king-of-fighter If you have, open the ytd file in OpenIV and what do you see? You should see this. Notice the name of the file that is selected? It's the same as the DDS file you want to replace. So you have to select that DDS file inside the ytd, choose Replace and then pick the DDS file from that camouflage mod. That will replace the file in the mod, with the new version. That's how you change textures in Ped mods. Edited October 27, 2017 by Guest
