You also have to rename the file to .asi if you're using UAL. Link to the debug menu is in my signature.

I've done everything, but the menu doesn't shows up, and I've toggled it

The vc_anim.dll is, sadly, uncompatible with the First Person mod for VC. Would be grateful if this was fixed.

UPD: Aaand with the VC_CustomAnimData as well. How sad.

That maybe explain something, that's really sad

Edit: After deleting fps mod, the menu shows up

I should also mention that this replaces big parts of the animation system, so it may collide with other mods that touch it too (like MVL).

As much as it is impossible to "fix", it could be possible to make it compatible with these mods. Aaaat least I hope so

It's as "possible" as make Vice compatible with SA plugins.

It's easier to make and include "First Person mod" and "VC_CustomAnimData" into vc_anim.dll.

Added noreplay.dll to disable the replay system.

To explain: even when you "don't use" replays the game still records every frame and that can cause buffer overflows and who knows what. In III e.g. too many peds will cause some timecycle data to be overwritten and lights will get random colours.

Can you create the same thing like you did for GTA VC to use CS characters in game for SA please?

Hello, i am a rookie modder on "PS2 Area" and I need your help. We are working on a TC which will bring Santos city to GTA San Andreas, in SA Style and we are looking to launch a PS2 version, a "little bit" limited and I am working on this conversion. I could convert player(with models), timecyc, textures, gxt and it runs smoothly. But when I will try to replace gta3.img, gta_int.img, cuts.img and etc .dff files, it never runs. I tried everything, including your tool (convdff). If you can help me to do this conversion, given that a lot of people has problems with that, I'll be very great full.

Thanks in advance.

Greetings Hero

I'd be very grateful if you can do something for me. I am not experinced in modding, would it be problem for you to write down a tutorial about playing CS characters in Vice City ?

The thing is there are so many tools for Vice City it makes my head spin when I try to understand all of them.

I want to play the game as Alberto Robina, father of Umberto Robina (Cuban Leader). I saw your post about playing CS characters, I figured that I can make use of it.

If I get this right, I need Ultimate Asi loader to extract into game folder (dinput8.dll x64 because I have 64 bit win 10) where gta-vc.exe is located, then create new folder in the same directory and name it "scripts", in that folder I put vc_anim.dll and I rename it to vc_anim.asi ? Also I must have debugmenu.dll inside game directory and that should be all, yes ?

When I try to access debug menu in game by pressing Ctrl + M nothing happens, I don't know why.. I have Cleo with these two mods:

https://www.gtainside.com/en/vicecity/mods/102174-talk-to-peds/

https://gamemodding.com/en/gta-vice-city/scripts/45910-ohrana.html

It doesn't seem that these mods are the problem.. I really do not know what to do.. Can you explain to me step-by-step how to make Alberto playable character ?

Thanks in advance

vc_anim doesn't load the debug menu, it has no settings there. You should be able to just replace some player model by a CS model, provided that you use vc_anim, otherwise it will probably crash.

Replace where ? In gta3.img ? CSPapa.dff with player.dff ?

That should work, yes. You could also use some mod to change the model from the game of course, but you'll have to figure that out yourself.

Unfortunately that doesn't work, it's crashing my game

I managed to get this mod to work, I removed debugmenu.dll, and reinstalled UAL and now everything seems to be good.

This is how Alberto Robina looks in game:

Hi to all.

I am using the xbox map for gta 3 and VC and i have downloaded the "generic txd" for higher quality for the xbox map of Vice City.

Is there anywhere any high quality generic txd for the xbox map of GTA 3? On the first page there is only generic txd for pc and ps2 gta 3 maps

Well you can use the other file which only contains the replaced textures, in which case you have to load both files.

Hello, sorry for the bump. Are the LCS and VCS map viewers in your GitHub repository functional? They sound very interesting to me, but I can't get them to work. Are they still being worked on?

They kind of work, yes, but only with the PS2 files.

http://gta.rockstarvision.com/utils/librw_bin/lcsview.exe

http://gta.rockstarvision.com/utils/librw_bin/vcsview.exe

You give them as the first argument the directory of your game and as the second the level name (indust, commer, suburb, underg in LCS; beach, mainla, mall in VCS). You cannot view multiple levels without restarting the program.

The program is kinda bare bones as the main idea was to figure out the file format and extract VCS files for VCSPC but it has sure been quite useful.

Drag files you want to convert onto the executable one by one

The executable doesn't seem to open, or rather it closes immediately after opening :/ Is there a specific way you need to launch this thing or something? I thought something was wrong on my end of things, but I asked two other people to try it and they have the same issue.

EDIT: I assume I have to run this thing through cmd and the executable is for a GUI. My attempts to make it load Portland were unsuccessful so far tho :(

It works! However, only LODs load on both LCS and VCS. I assume it's not complete enough to load everything yet?
