ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
No this isnt a milestone thread wish it was I had a full blown heart attack. I got up super early because I was having mild chest pains & in my arm I just figured I slept wrong as I sleep on my chest sometimes, The last thing I remember was letting Buster in and then going to the kitchen, Then wake up to the sirens screaming in the ambulance. I ended up needing a (CABG) coronary angioplasty bypass graft surgery I dont k ow much about it except it helps increases blood supply. They said if my girls hadnt found me when they did and started CPR I wouldnt be here so one good thing my girls are little angels. Doctors have no real idea why it happened because Im healthy my last checkup a month ago everything was good on the EKG not to mention not many folks in theirs 30s have heart attacks. I eat healthy, I exercise I do everything youre suppose to do and it still happened. Im not writing this because I want pity or anything just to give yall a warning listen to your body especially your heart or you could end up like I did. Tchuck
Have you ruled out any hereditary causes or genetic issues? Do you have anyone in your family with a history of heart/health issues? Those things can be pretty insidious. I mean, we've seen soccer players dying on the field because of undiagnosed heart issues. I know my grandfather needed to have some procedure done on his heart so that he wouldn't die like his brother did; which triggered my father doing the same procedure when he turned 50, and his brothers to more closely monitor their health as well. And I likely have the same thing, but haven't gotten it checked out yet. Glad you're ok, be sure to try and find out the cause! Yeah heart disease, heart failure and heart attacks run in the family along with high blood pressure all happened later in life, I was in the hospital from the 7th until today the 18th and they run every test they could do and they said it was unusual but they put me on couple difference pills including baby aspirin to try and prevent this from happening again; Tchuck
MCMXCII
Glad you are okay. After witnessing someone on their deathbed due to a heart attack, I sure as sh*t don't want to see any other people go through that. You are not that much older than me and I may need to start watching my own heart. ten-a-penny, Ivan1997GTA and ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
Murdick
Omg 31 is no age. I'm glad you are ok and I wish you a quick recovery. I remember on my Mam's 40th birthday my dad got rushed to hospital with similar pains you described. He was in his 30's too. I'm unsure what he was diagnosed with, but he had something inserted near his heart, a balloon type thing, I think to keep one of the valves/chambers open. The asprin will be to help your blood/blood pressure too. Edited October 19, 2017 by Murdick ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
The Time Ranger
That really does suck, you must be relieved to be out of hospital today. It goes to show the value of knowing Cpr and first aid. Quick thinking by those who found you. You must be very proud of them. Wishing you a speedy recovery. ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
Bruce Khansey
First and foremost, I'm glad you're fine. This reminds me that it's been a long time since I got checked up. Plus, my paternal grandfather died at the age of 47-48 due to a heart attack (I think he had one before, and the last one was fatal), my father is taking pills for blood pressure for some years now and five years ago my maternal grandmother had a heart attack too, it was strong and everyday she wakes up it's a gift to us, as her heart works at 25%. Not a good health heritage I guess. ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
DOUGL4S1
Good thing you're OK, and I hope you recover soon. My dad has had chest pains a few times before, but mostly due to stress on his job. But I used to live a sedentary lifestyle, just staying home and eating crap all day, until I was 18 and experienced a chest pain. It wasn't a full heart failure (luckly) but it was probably one of the worst sensations i've experienced in my life. I took it as a sign, started going on walks more often and eating less crap. And yes, I know people who died at 21 because of a heart attack, so that got me even more freaked out. JON22
Well f*ck me I must be lucky then. I'm 32 and was born with a heart murmur. I get palpitations sometimes but only because I'm always anxious, nervous and fear the worst all the time. You should do what I do. Eat microwave crap. Eat crap. Drink coffee. I get all my exercise from walking my dog, cleaning at work and being anxious. Out of that I'm on my arse trying to relax because I'm boring. ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
I actually eat healthy more times then not, But it's so hard when you have this tempting you around the corner not to mention i have two kids who are picky eaters and always wanting junk food which i don't really keep in the house the most we have is maybe some chips and popcorn, Caffeine Free soda and i go to the gym whenever possible but sometimes i'm not able to go for a week or two due to pain from a previous injuries. The hospital set me up with a Nutritionist who is going to come out once a week for a while, and take me to the store to show me do's and don't and help me set up a meal plan that myself and my girls will like. ShadowPerson
Dont blame directly the junk food, I mean at this point every non-organic food its bad for us. Be strong and time to recover dude ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
ṼirulenⱦEqừinox
I knew what you meant, I've never been a big junk food eater even as a kid but my ex wife is one and wheen we were married the pantry would be stuffed with everything you could think of so my girls grew up in that enviorment until we split up and she moved back to the UK my only junk food guilty pleasure is Chex Mix the orginal kind and the trail mix kind and even then a bag can last me a month
