XB1. I am just looking at the most liked things over the last week....bowling an LTS, lol. Probably promoted by a youtuber or something. I mean one of the lists I saw was like 5 parkour dms, get out of here. I like the older races better than stunts but no one plays them.

You'll be hard pressed to find anything worthwhile with that method.

Have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/user/hwkabro/search?query=XB1

Someone said you dont have all the tools in the creator....I believe it was me because we dont. I have not played a player created race in a very long time other than the ones verified by R* because they are crap, but I did play cunning stunts created races and they were garbage. If you like them thats cool, but I think the overall gta player base could careless about player created jobs. R* gets some good idea from them. I dont think the hype trains have ever been running for creator updates other than a small player base.

Watch Broughy1322's playlist videos of player made races. Even the average races you'll see there stand above R*'s best stunt races.

Yeah definitely do that.

You might see one of my races in there at 15.53

I played a few more races today and holy sh*t I'm even more excited about them now. The courses are constructed beautifully and the transitions between the vehicles happen so organically. Notable example is the course ''Seperation''. Another player and I were going toe to toe and we each took a seperate direction on the last lap. This way we couldn't bump each other off the road, but everytime the two courses crossed, we could see each other competing for that #1. It was nerve wrecking, but so much fun.

Definitely one of the best updates Online has had in a long time.

A little exaggerated don't you think? It's always great when you win, mate, but that doesn't mean Transform Races are that special.

Compared to the major updates we've had this year (Gunrunning and Smuggler's Run), I've been having way more fun with these transform races than I have with slowly filling up my bunker / hangar repeating the same resupply missions over and over.

But you're right, it's my opinion, so it's subjective and you're free to disagree with it. I am however enjoying these races a lot, and in the end that's what matters to me when it comes to new content: am I having fun with it? When it comes to these races: yes.

I acknowledged that there are/is probably a very small amount of creator races that are decent. Meaning; fun, challenging yet not frustrating, and not visually repulsive. One of the biggest disappointments of cunning stunts is 50-100 percent of the time, depending on the race, the background is the sky.

Its just that I do not really think the effort to try and find them is worth it. Watch an hour long youtube vid for 4 or 5 races...I will pass and play the transform races. To me the transform races are 2-10 times better than normal stunt races. Now if R* would only allow minguns and limited (3) non-homing rockets to one vehicle per race.

Thanks for the calm and collected response, and no-one is sh*tting on your parade (as suggested by another poster). I don't understand why everyone is getting so excited about a gamemode that doesn't add to the city of Los Santos or the map, and is mostly a collection of mid-air props.

I played these races for 3-4 hours on Tuesday night and really enjoyed some of them, but also disliked many races too where there was no chance of winning once you fell behind. No amount of driving skill or personal vehicles will help with that if you race with catchup off, and I loathe racing with catchup on - that could be reason you were toe-to-toe with your fiercest competitor throughout the race because Rockstar is artificially adjusting your position, and not because these races are that well thought out.

I didn't play Wednesday night, or last night, and that's indicative of a gamemode that's shallow on the surface and doesn't have much depth beyond that. But I'm glad you're having fun, and that's what it's all about.

Cheers!

Only played one created by a social club member a while back when it was glitched.

I thought it was just ok.Can't wait to see what users come up with once it gets in creator.

I'll get around to try some created by rockstar one day.

Honestly, I think I'm starting to get tired of these races already. I was hoping that because you get to use multiple vehicles, there would be more variety. But once again, it's mostly supers, motorcycles, and now jets. I was hoping the other vehicle classes would get some love, but not quite. I'm still frustrated that they didn't add more off-road and compact stunt races too. And I wish that they added some sports classic stunt races too. I'm just tired of everything racing being about supers, sports cars and motorcycles.

Understandable. It's a simple matter of different strokes for different folks. The courses do indeed not add very much to the city of LS or the map, and I honestly was flabbergasted the first time I saw everything just floating in the air. But on the other hand people have wanted proper racing tracks for a long time and I don't see how Rockstar could've added those into the busy streets of Los Santos, so them putting everything in the air makes sense to me. Plus it gives them more liberty in making different courses without being constrained by how the map of Los Santos is designed. And once you get passed the stage of ''it's ridiculous how all this is just floating through a city'' the stuff that was added in Cunning Stunts and built upon in Transform races (race tracks, tubes, loopings, etc) can make for some pretty impressive courses.

I'm with you on the catch-up issue with it being a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, but this is also true in other racing games and even in real life. Sometimes you get unlucky, you mess up a corner or some asshole PIT-maneuvers you and you fall behind. The best thing you can do is to make the best of a bad situation. It happened to me yesterday on the track in the form of a baseball field (Homerun I think?). I was in a full lobby of 16 people and in one of the first corners I get absolutely sandwich'd between so many cars that I ended up in tenth position. I kept going though (catch-up was off by the way) and ultimately ended up in 4th. It was not the number one position, but it felt like a win to me.

As for that race I was talking about earlier being so close between me and some other guy; we were racing in stock vehicles and during the race I did notice that there was no catch-up on, so I like to believe we were about equal in skill.

Warped is actually fun

Though hard to play catch up as you don't get enough slipstream time from all the warping. I f*cked up on the Rocket Voltic tunnel TWICE and cost me the lead

Why else would they drip feed one vehicle at a time for two/three months?

Because they're douchebags?

Arrows to Athens

Silly checkpoint placements, poor checkpoint registration, loops, causing you to collide with oncoming racers, cancerous catchup, rammers, etc.

Yeah, they're perfect!

This. I'm f*cking sick of missing checkpoints that I *nearly* touched when other checkpoints you can miss by a mile and still register.

Yup missing checkpoints in races is the big disapointment and also the transform moments where you spawn upside down or somersaulting through the air and

explode and end up in last place...

^ If you're hosting, put the time to night so your lights are on, you can see them through the smoke ;) Vagner especially has a huge light bar working as attitude indicator..

Also, always turn Wanted Level on (more RP) especially on Gauntlet II, improves the phantom wedge section a lot.

I still have no idea why I warp to the left when exiting the stadium in Home Run on bike, but at least I can deal with it now.

btw my current leaderboard places for race time for all circuits, because I've been ruining these lobbies and wanted to see where I was overall. Still got outright lap record on Slalom too.

24, 16, 25, 28, 361, 3, 51, 106 (in a mirthmobile), 150, 24, 3, 74, 3, 12

It's the way they placed the checkpoint, it's a diagonal arrow so it warps you slightly left, that's also why the put the dead stop in knowing people would go flying off

until they got used to the transform area.

If you've got time can you send me a PM with how you got lap record, not gonna be challenging you as I know you're Xbox but I've got a character that needs a WR on PS4

and this seems the best time to try and get it.

^ well the easiest way to set a WR is find a blank one on SC, they go up to 99 laps for each track so just find the one where 11 is isn't set or whatever (search for jobs by R* in the last 7 days).

Slalom is a choose-your-motorbike race, and the Gargoyle with a 'web' rear wheel still bangs itself to insane top speeds when doing a wheelie, so I imagine that helped..

eta actually I just looked again and someone beat my time :/

OK, I guess I will have to get the Gargoyle for that character and keep trying, there are two tracks I think I can do it on Slalom or Warped as I have the custom vehicles needed

for the transforms on those tracks .

Very likely, I just need to make sure I am in the right place at the right time (i.e the moment the tracks are unlocked) and before any stupid glitched times appear.

Exactly... A very big bummer... You arrive at first position, then suddenly slow down to a crawl... Everyone catches up and then in the other modes, you can't catch them again LOL... I tried a few more races last night, but it's Always catchup on and it's such a sh*tty way to lose , especially when you're way ahead and just see them catch up lightening fast. During my second race, I held back purposely, but this is not my way of racing and I ended up losing (second or third) again LOL... And I don't mind losing, as I do more often than not, but I'm Always pissed when it's due to this mechanism... Always...

It's entertaining to some, but it's not about having skills in races, it's keeping everyone, especially newer players and noobs, under the illusion that they deservedly can win, thus keep 'racing'... I'm done with this mode, although It does have great potential (perhaps for some custom maps with an actual skill-level AND catchup-OFF)... :-)

If you hate catchup ("no child left behind") then always host, and turn on the "remain host" setting. It's worth it. Fill a lobby fast by hosting one of the popular circuits eg Plummet III.

Lonely-Martin

I admit it, I'm a racing snob. Yes, I know, I should stick to Project Cars or Gran Turismo if I want a proper racing experience, but to me, there is a fine line between say races with a few jumps, narrow passages, or even a good bit of chaos and the ones that fall under the Stunt Race label. I can even stomach certain races with GTA settings and weapons, but I have a growing sense of utter disdain for these overly gimmicky style tracks that solely rely on the placement of props and artificial or elevated platform roads. I gave Stunt Races a chance back in the day, but they ultimately left me frustrated, disappointed, and of course, longing to play actual races on a regular basis again. Rockstar even managed to f*ck up Premium Races by locking them to non-contact + slipstream. Ugh, don't even get me started there!

Before the Cunning Stunts update, stunt races were created and promoted by certain segments of creator crews. Have a look at the top played custom jobs for PS3/PS4 and XB360/XB1 and you will see plenty of them - most were crafted using elevated box container props and feature a mix of jumps and stunts that will easily force you to respawn if you are unlucky or don't know the track or the methods required to complete the jumps/stunts/whatever. Many of them feature some sort of makeshift wall-riding endeavour or being forced into taking some ridiculous leap into the sky that cannot be completed without the aid of pickup boosts (that can only be activated when the race is set to GTA mode). Granted, there are many of them that obviously took lots of time and effort to create, but I (and more serious racers) find them to be rather painful to endure. We used to roll our eyes when we would accidentally get sucked into playing one and think, "wow, how can anyone enjoy this sort of torture".

Now this sort of thing has taken complete priority and actual race tracks are the fading novelty; the difference being that creators no longer have to glitch prop placement to create these races - they are 100x easier to create thanks to the Cunning Stunts DLC, have hundreds of more prop options, and R* makes it nearly impossible to find randomly hosted races that do not consist of stunting. It makes me ill; if I bother trying to host an actual race, I'm lucky if I get one random person to join at times.

Anyway, yes, I did try a few of these the other night, but I'm sorry; I just cannot seem to enjoy them. R* creators should really learn about proper CP placement; it's as irritating as f*ck when you haven't the time to react the next CP and the air racing segments seem to employ the absolute worst CP placement overall. It grinds my gears too when I'm forced to respawn because of terrible and illogical prop placement; I also shouldn't have to watch a YouTube video beforehand to know what to avoid or whether or not I should lay off the accelerator when approaching a stunt.

I suppose that some, perhaps lots of people enjoy these sort of races and that's fine, but I just end up frustrated beyond the point of comprehension when playing them. It's like I said in a previous post, I could get on board if this weren't solely centered around stunt tracks and stunt props, but that's pretty much all it is and once again, regular races are being pushed further and further away, neglected, and mostly forgotten.

Also, yes, decent user created races can be difficult to find at times, but they are out there and many of them are aeons ahead of any race created by R*. Have a look at the jobs from dedicated racing crews, the creator section of this forum, or just ask around. If you're into racing and you have the opportunity to play a well-made custom track, you will easily see just how R* created tracks fail in comparison.

Street racing?... In GTA... That's sooo 2013... Lol...

Na seriously, I fully agree here, firstly I feel street racing MUST get some real love and attention for me to even consider racing here now. But with the current crop of racing games out/coming very soon, they really need to get this part of GTA back to the fore... (Unless they're winding down soon, I mean, we know sod all, anything's possible, I guess. Doubt it mind).

And player created stuff... Again, bang on!... The racing I did on old gen, back when one of my best GTA friends was in NODO, we used all the Broughy/NODO created tracks... f*cking awesome time really, I know I got better... And that's when I realised something like the Osiris being a very good car once I learned to control my pace etc. I dare say there were others, but the NODO stuff sticks to mind here... (Very unfortunate for me that he long left GTA, he saw what I'm seeing now long ago, lol).

Better yet, as crude and simple as they are/look these days... Stuff like Rockets vs. Insurgents, or Stunter's vs. Rockets, The one where you have to run parkour across a row of simple ups and downs and avoid the cars trying to knock you off, getting to the end zone had lots of OP toys, but getting there was the fun part, the name eludes me... But there's many a simple thing like these LTS's that people created early on, that to this day are miles ahead of what R*'s races and Adv. Modes are done as...

The key ingredient to all the PvP LTS's out there is the fairness and simplicity... Not including glitchers and cheats of course, but these games really have appeal across the board, they're usually quite fair and balanced, and offer good cash/RP to new and older players alike... The random factor, these LTS's especially were just about the giggles really... But you earned and learned well with these games too...

I get I've been having a pop at the game of late over quite a lot of things I feel ain't right for the game, but I do agree players can create some really cool stuff, some that still is regularly played since day one really too (of things being created, never have, so know little here), that even me, a greenhorn in the creative side of things can see that players know their games, players are more than capable of matching and exceeding some of R*'s stuff, especially the stuff this year really...

Street racing and GTA are synonymous with each other... IMO, it'd be like removing cops/wanted levels, or Pay 'n Spray's and Ammunation really... Just something that's so far from what GTA is and always has been, I feel street racing - Or that Tuner's DLC type of thing - Is essential and so desperately needed to bring this game back to its roots...

Not so much more cars, though won't object, but some real love with racing proper too, not all this crazy stuff... Street races, 2x events... Maybe a real racers DLC too, from Formula to go-karts, everything all on smooth race circuits even... (Something to compete with the Gran Turismo's out there potentially). But we definitely need street racing back...

I'm sure anyone that's a fan of the franchise can see that, at least in regards to street racing, it kind of just goes hand in hand with GTA.

I would never have unlocked the racing blonde tattoo in a million years if it wasn't for being online the moment new races became available.

Finally unlocked it by virtue of possibly being the first player to to do a particular race.

Most of those races are garbage.

Some tracks are fun in some areas but are a pain in others.

Races that transform your vehicle into a Opressor should not have it's wing extended by default.

If you don't own a customized SR aircraft, you will be left behind in sections were you have to fly a Havok, or a Molotok, etc...

Payouts is good for now because of 2x, but once that is over I'm not touching it again and I assume at least half of the playerbase won't play it again either.

How hard is it for them to do more survival maps or vehicle deathmatches???

This is dumb.

GAUNTLET HELLFIRE

I got bored so I ended trying this crap again. First race flew the Havok through the checkpoint but didn't transform second lap same crap so I flew to Paleto Bay. Second race Home Run I went to the goal post to transform into the bike but hit the side reversed backed tried again and ended up in the water. Later on in the race I was in second right behind first flew through a checkpoint in the Havok transformed into a car and immediately blew up.

I was happy with 3rd especially since the only thing I had upgraded was my Voltic and I had to respawn twice. I don't think people like these transform races much.
