OrionSR
Turning the frame limiter off can lead to minor and major issues with the game. Although, this is the first I've heard of this specific issue. I recommend looking into the SilentPatch. The author and support team for SP have a much better handle on the specifics of this sort of issue. SP recommends frame limiter on but fixes it to run smoothly at 30 fps instead of the messed up ~24 fps that it usually runs. Also, they have been working on other issues that have arisen with faster machines, so your game might work as hoped even if you do unlock the frame limiter.
