Sandy Survival error joining a session

The following problem occurs whilst playing Sandy Survival on PC. After completing the second wave, I get the error message as seen in the screenshot and then after pressing continue, I get transported back into the story mode. When I try to go back to an online session (either solo or a regular one) I get the same error message. If I restart the game, there is no issue in joining an online lobby. This is now the fourth time since last weekend this has happened. I've been playing survivals for a while now, and before the start of last week, this hasn't happened to me before. It also seems to be a very irregular issue, as I have played and finished Sandy Survival several times without issues in between these "crash sessions".

 

 

The time between waves 2 and 3 is the only time this will happen. I've played all of the other survivals and none of them have this issue. In fact, none of the other game modes have this problem. When I contacted Rockstar and asked them about it, they seemed to suggest my connection was to blame. But how can my connection be the problem when it only happens during a specific period on one map of one game mode? Surely I should have this issue more often and on other maps/game modes too if that was the case. And how can there be a problem joining a sessions when I'm already in one and in the middle of a game?

 

Anyway, does anyone else have this problem? Or even better, a solution?

I have the same issue, occured 3,4 times now. I'm pretty sure it's a new issue after Smugglers Run DLC, as it never happened before but quite often after the update. It's not your internet connection ...

My theory is that it happens when you collect to many dropped money/weapons in a short amount of time. Since you can hide behind a dumpster in that Survival and conveniently shoot all the dumb Cletuses from there, the dropped money/weapons all lie at the same place and when you collect them all at once, this error occours. If you don't collect them or do it slowly, the error never occured for me.
