Welcome to the thirty-first issue of the GTAForums Weekly newsletter!

Issue 25 of Customs, Cruisers, and Classics was released, which was produced by the former main host, . The new issue includes an interview with @V4S who took control of the series not too long ago. You can check it out here.

Returning this week, we've got the Weekly Vehicle Showdown. The reigning champion, the Annis Elegy Retro Custom, has been facing off against the newcomer, the Bravado Gauntlet. Currently, the Elegy holds a healthy lead with 22 votes to the Gauntlet's 4. It's safe to say the Elegy will live to see another round.

The GTAForums Snap Battle has wrapped up it's third season so far just a few days ago. If you haven't kept up with the staff voting, the final results are as follows; (LG) - with 22 votes, (PC) - @the_potato with 19 votes, and (CG) - @PoisonedGas with 17 votes. The first place winner will receive their grand prize of physical GTA V radio station badges / pins. Congratulations to the winners from each respective platform!

Congratulations to long time member, moderator, and GTA IV fanatic @Algonquin Assassin for recently reaching his 10 year milestone! We hope you stick around for many more.

Welcome to the thirty-first week of Rockstar Central! I’m your host, @Spider-Vice, and we’ll be highlighting this week’s happenings in the Rockstar Universe.

GTA Online

This week in GTA Online – the Buckingham Pyro is now available, along with new Double GTA$ and RP bonuses and discounts! The Buckingham Pyro, considered the “high-fidelity vinyl of air superiority”, is now available from Warstock Cache & Carry. It comes packed with a twin-boom body, a jet engine and dual machine guns, and can be customised at your Hangar with homing missiles, liveries, armour, engine and handling upgrades, along with some extras!

Through the 16th, you can get some extra GTA$ in your bank by taking advantage of the extended double GTA$ and RP bonuses for the brand-new Stockpile adversary mode, along with the PUBG-inspired Motor Wars which is also featuring Double GTA$ and RP this week, so get on to fraggin’! Bunker Research and Manufacturing & Biker Business Production will be running 25% faster this week. I mean, that surplus of drugs has to be used for something, and that something is efficiency!

As always with bonus weeks, Rockstar is making some discounts available for the criminals of Los Santos. As such, don’t miss out on 25% off on:

- The Fort Zancudo Hangar 3499

- The Thomson Scrapyard Bunker

- All Bunker Renovations

- The Ultralight in both Buy Now and Trade prices

- The Rocket Voltic in both prices

- The Tropos Rallye

- The Armoured Kuruma in both prices

- All Benny’s Upgrades

This week’s Premium Stunt Race will be “Raton”, which is locked to Supercars, whereas the newest Time Trial will also be in the Raton Canyon, and aptly named... “Raton Canyon”. Haaaaaaa.

The news doesn’t end here though! Rockstar has announced that the brand new, so-long teased Transform Races are finally releasing on the 17th of October! Transform Races feature checkpoints that make your vehicles change constantly, going through all classes (bikes, planes, boats...) and a few extra twists like Warp, which will teleport you to a different location mid-race for added chaos! You can check out the trailer on the Newswire.

Red Hook Crit

Another edition (and this year’s finale!) of the Rockstar-sponsored Red Hook Crit has been wrapped up not too long ago! It took place just yesterday in Milan, Italy, featuring nearly 400 athletes from 33 different countries, who competed in the quick, fixed-gear racing action, common to these criteriums, as they call them.

The pack was led by Italian-born Davide Vigano, in first place with 84 points, and the also Italian Filippo Fortin with 71 points in the men’s field. In the women’s field, Eleonore Saraiva, from France, leads the pack by 26 points over Canada’s Raphaele Lemieux.

As always, and as mentioned on the newswire, attendance is free (or was!) and you can enjoy a full day of a fast-paced racing event, including beverages and a great atmosphere!

We've had the chance to interview one of GTAF's more "quieter" admins around, and creator of the GTAF Snap Battle competition, @uNi!

Android: Feel old yet? :p You've been a GTAF member for 13 years. What motivated you to join the community?

uNi: My original account is actually an year older than that, so I've been around for 14 years now! I've accidentally discovered that you could modify the game (using paint to change Claude's clothes in III) and wanted to know how to modify the rest of the game's assets. A quick few Google queries got me here, spent quite a few months lurking in the modding boards then eventually started posting and I'm still here.

Could you give us a bit of context regarding your username? Does it mean anything specific?

I've been using this nickname for a long time. UT99 came out and I needed a nickname to play on cybershops, I've just had watched Universal Soldier a few days before so I picked "unisol". Kept using it in America's Army leagues and people started calling uni instead of unisol, so I eventually changed it.

As an admin, what do you enjoy most about the forum?

It's nice being able to help produce projects you think have potential to grow and benefit the community. It's more responsibility than fun though! Keeping a place where everyone can participate and try not to lean on personal opinions is not always easy.

Is there anything you'd really like to change about the forum?

There's a ton of stuff I'd like to have/do on the forums, (rip GTA:O League) but life just keeps getting in the way, and that needs to be addressed first. Snap Battle is going well for now and I have another project that hopefully can start soon. As for little changes around the forums, we take a lot attention to member's suggestions on what to add/remove from the forums, some of the suggestions may seem to go unnoticed but we do actually discuss it.

The GTAF Snap Battle is turning out to be a really appealing competition. Is there any specific criteria for choosing themes?

Slowly, but finally getting more attention. As for the themes, we've started with something easy so more people can join in, the future depends on user's feedback.

And the prizes, are they supplied by Rockstar themselves, or do you acquire them yourself?

Most of the our current stock of R* goodies for giveaways/contests have been given by R*, but we've also added a few of our own. Kirsty and I will buy more stuff in the future (RDRII!).

On another forum related note, what do you have to say about the IPB4 update?

It's something that needs to be done, but I don't really like it, and I feel most of the users will feel the same way. Don't know, is just so different from what we have now.

Plus, it's been due for so long I guess I just want it past us. The transition seems quite simple in theory, use the upgrade module and be done with it. The reality is Tank has to do a ton of work behind the scenes to make it work. There's server stuff that need to be upgraded, like GTAF has grown quite a bit (lol), so having GTAF and GTAF IPB4 runing at the same time so we can test stuff weights quite a lot.

Then there's the "feeling" bit, for the last couple of months @Tank and @adamcs been working on getting the new skin as close as possible to what we have now. The last bit is getting getting GTAF ready to upgrade, which has quite a lot of custom work done into it, so the upgrade module needs to be changed as well, and after that's done, code other stuff in that IPB4 is missing, mostly stuff we use for moderating the forums. So it may feel like we're sitting on it, but there's a ton of stuff that happened in the last few months (or years, don't know anymore), like server upgrades that cost money.

Which forum member do you feel closest to?

Can't say I have one I could point at, more like a group of people. Users that I've read posts through the years and learnt to respect. I've met @Icarus and @adamcs in Portugal. @Gtamen, @GTAonlineNews, @GTAGFX, @Zoobz, and a few other members at a R* event in London which was awesome!

What's your favorite Rockstar Games series or title?

Grand Theft Auto, III in particular. To this day, III has a weird stirring mood to it I couldn't get from newer titles, closest one to it was IV I guess.

Do you have any other interests, hobbies, favorite music, and so on? Tell us more about the person behind your alias.

Mostly driving and tech. I enjoy watching how people mod their cars but never got into it myself, I just enjoy the driving bit the most. I'm recently new to Scotland so when I have some free time I just hope in and drive wherever, find new roads. I'd probably be the worst getaway driver ever, because even I perfectly know the fastest route to a certain place I always go around so I can drive longer.

Also love anything related to tech, I've taken part of on a tech blog in the past and I'd go to events and get products to review that was great, but it gets difficult when you need to work full time, so I haven't done that in a while now. My latest hobby is collecting anything R*, I have a few new things but most are included here.

Any final comments? Do you have anything to say to our readers & the GTAF community?

Keep the good work with GTAF Weekly, and for anyone reading, if you have a interesting GTAF related project you'd like to start, let us know, we'd like to help out.
