Forza Horizon 4

[Homemade Dynamite]

I know it's a little early to be talking about it, since FM7 just came out, but I didn't know where else to discuss this so I just decided to make this. What do you guys want to see in Forza Horizon 4, presumably coming out this month next year?

 

Here's my wishlist (copy and pasted from the Xbox One topic):

 

- Native 4K (Obviously, since the Xbox One X will be the primary version)

- Japan setting (We've had USA, Europe, and Australia. Asia is the next logical step and Japan has a gigantic car scene)

- More vehicles (More is always welcome. I get they can't have as much as FM, but still)

- More vehicle variety (Related to the above, I think having a variety of trucks would be welcome. Also, if set in Japan, there should be a larger number of Japanese cars)

- Return of street races (FH1 had them, but since then it's been absent. Why? Having to race in traffic made it more exciting)

- Better soundtrack (Not to say FH3 had a bad soundtrack, but there's always room for improvement. Bring back a non-label specific rock station because I felt the two rock stations were too punk-oriented. Give us more songs from Bass Arena and Pulse, keep Hospital Records, add a Roadrunner Records station for metal because it wouldn't mesh with the more indie tunes from Rocks/XS, and add if set in Japan, have some Japanese stations, though avoid the label-manufactured J-pop please)

- Remove Anna or make her optional (She bugged me way too much)

- Give us a storyline (FH1 had one, but like street races it was eschewed from FH2 and 3. It wasn't exactly story of the year material, but it worked. I wanted to knock Darius Flynt off his pedestal by the time the story was nearing the end. FH2 and FH3 felt too repetitive without a story, despite being mostly better games)

 

I'll get into more details later, such as what songs I think would fit FH4.

 

For now, let's discuss what we'd like to see in the not-technically-confirmed-but-confirmed fourth installment of the Forza Horizon series.

- Bring back the TOYOTA! Please Toyota, lord have mercy I need you if Japan is the setting so I can touge my way down with Eurobeat music and a AE86 Trueno Sprinter.

 

- More radio stations variety, keep Hospital Records and some kind of hard rock or metal station. Also a Eurobeat radio station that would replace classical music or maybe a movie score radio station would be nice. Improve upon Horizon Bloc Party as I felt for was kind of underwhelming, add like Nujabes, Pharcyde, People Under The Stairs, MF Doom, or any kind of artist that could be a highlight point other than that being of DMX, Ghostface Killah, and maybe Oddisee (although I am alright with Oddisee). The Pulse and Bass Arena had a good lineup in 3, but Bloc Party was kind of underwhelming. Also add more songs on a radio station, most radio stations in FH3 sit around 20-25 songs. Bump it up at least to 30 songs, gives a better overall variety.

- More single player racing varieties! I really want sprint races to be a part of the next Horizon game and even better, pink slips. When involved in a strreet race, you could bet your car on another person, this makes a bigger difference in variety.

 

- An actual story mode in Horizon. Don't give me the bullsh*t "single player story" like in H2 and H3, give us a proper antagonist. Many of us would like to have a goal we are reaching at the end, I felt like in the last installment in the game you don't feel like you achieved enough to be where you are at.

 

- Character customization. One step closer to character customization, actual ways to customize your character would increase value of replayability and playing the game itself.

 

- Houses/Properties? I'll be honest with you on this one, this is the least of my concern, but let's say we get bored as an example of just buying cars. How about spending money on something else? Property where you can store your car or maybe like checkpoints, but for customization.

 

- Parking lot garages, I would like to see what people created even in single player.

 

- Take advantage of the body kits. Mix body kits with real body kit brands and fictitious ones too. Doesn't hurt to have some body kits for cars you would imagine would have it.

 

- Japan. Good car culture and has a lot of cool roads you can drive. Also please make the city bigger and it doesn't need to be Tokyo, it could be Osaka or Kyoto for crying out loud, just make the city big and interesting to explore around. Add a lot of freeways and highway routes, that would be nice.

Only problem I'd have with FH4 taking place in Japan is that the Tuner and Sport classes would be the most prevalent. This is a personal taste though since I prefer Muscle. It's the same way I feel about FH2, too many Supers. But regardless, Japan would be alright.

There are Streetraces with Traffic in Forza Horzion 3 i don`t know why your saying there aren`t any.

 

I would rather drive in Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy or whatever) or America i hate it if the Traffic is on the wrong Side it annoys me way to much.

 

And yeah yes to Toyota.

 

And the most important thing no unfinished Copy for the PC the 100% Usage of the First CPU Core is really lazy hopefully it then is a real Direct X 12 Game not just half and i want SLI Support.

-I'd be in favour of an actual story this time. Perhaps The Fast & The Furious Race Wars style or a rival with a festival of their own in direct competion with Horizon.

 

-A lot more showcase events because whilst they were fun in Horizon 3 I didn't think there were enough of them.

 

-Drag racing. It might not be to everyone's liking, but drag racing events have been long overdue.

 

-Motorbikes/ATVs. I think it would be cool if motorbikes/ATVs were included and had their own events. Opens up a much bigger avenue of variety and scope. IMO it's time to experiment to change up the formula.

Technically, there was drag racing in FH3, but I think it only occurs on the airstrip in Outback.

It kinda is tho, aint it? I mean you only made the thread because no one responded to you in the Official Xbox One thread and you even stated "and I feel it's a bit too early to make it's own topic" and that was only a week ago...So with zero info on the game, let alone even a confirmation, beyond wish-listing and features from FH3 you'd like to see improved( hence Nero's suggestion of using the FH3 thread), how much discussion is there to have at this point?

Far be it from me to quell discussion over something you're excited/passionate about but there's really very little that could be expanded upon here that wasn't already available in the XBox One topic. You even said yourself that you copied your wishlist from there. Drumming up hype for a video game is all well and good but it would be like somebody making a topic for Grand Theft Auto VI and posting their hopes and wishes. Stick to the XBox One topic for now and when there's more news, feel free to open a topic then.
