I hope we get some Special feature in GTAO to celebrate this well known day, we always had something added on this day by Rockstar...... even though its not on the usual DLC release day (Tuesday)

Other games I sometimes get updates Thursdays and Friday so I don't see the problem with Gta getting updates these days either?

 

Edit: reading\seeing op again and reading some of the comments again I get the feeling that update is more of the tunable update and not dlc kind of update..

If it's making a weekend with double money on some jobs that only requires change in tunables, R* can do that whenever they feel like it afaik.

If it's a dlc update I don't understand the problem releasing that on Thursday or Friday either considering other games do it

Anyone that remembers the 4th of April will know that they can tweak anything when ever if they want...

 

The weed was paying extra that day as a reference to 420... Not that I think anything's happening mind, just they do like to do random things...

 

But halloween is around the corner, makes more sense for then.

 

The games had updates/events start on Friday's often too...

Let me explain my view.

Im not an expert in uploading updates, but on PC you can upload it anytime you wish. But on consoles (not sure about Xbox) you need to send this update to curators first and wait for their approval. Because of that, devs whos holding their games on multiple platforms usually schedule their updates on certain days. Hope i put this right.

 

Of course that doesn't apply on tunable stuff.

I understand what you mean and for some reason I thought that Tuesday was the day for updates on console but then I started getting updates for battlefield 1, battlefield 1 cte, killing floor 2 on Thursdays and Fridays, this week also a update for fishing planet on Wednesday or Thursday.

 

I'm in a bit of a hurry writing now but what I'm trying to say is that when the updates are approved by Sony and Microsoft I think that the developers can decide which day they want the dlc/update to be available, and pc isn't so strict so they follow console.

I do not recall ever having something unlocked in game on Friday 13th before but I am not expecting anything special for today in game thought it

would be nice if they unlocked the Halloween content. (not checked any other topics yet)

There have been 2 shirt giveaways for logging into the game in 2015, last year only one. So far it seems nobody found possible new items for this year, but we have to wait and see...

I only realised it was Friday the 13th when I saw this topic. Well, if R* aren't going to mark it, I will.
