Hydra worth 2,6 million?

Hi its me again, this time with new question

 

I was one of the fortune ones to get targeted sales this week and thought to ask if Hydra is worth to get for 2,6 million?

 

Note that I already have Buzzard and only looking to get Hydra for fast travel between longer distances and not for pvp/griefing. And most importantly is it still the best plane in game?

With all the new planes released on the Smuggler's Run update, I can't really tell if it's still the best in the game, but it's a must have, in my opinion. Helpful to fast travel across the map and to get some Hangar missions done quickly, rather than using the aircrafts provided by the game in the missions!

People didn't buy it because it was the best. It was just that people COULD buy it, unlike the lazer. And it has VTOL, so you can take off and land vertically.

 

As for long journeys, a buzzard can fly clear across the map in a few minutes. But if that's not fast enough for you, get a hydra.

 

Best? If your fighting other aircraft, no its not the best. If using it for transport, it is the most practical jet though, given its speed and VTOL capability.

 

When hydra griefers were a bigger issue, if one annoyed me I would take my Besra up & kill them. If you clipped the hydra (or lazer) just right, you could destroy them & your plane would survive. The easier option was just to put a couple of sticky bombs on your Besra, fly close & detonate.

The best depends on who you ask and what purpose will it serve.

If you want fast travel then there are other planes which are faster and may cost less.

yes it's well worth it, i bought mine during my 360 days for $3 million and it's come in handy when i'm doing a mission or job involving blowing up a target or more.

and fighting off other players.

The pyro, howard, v-65 and alpha should all be faster than the hydra.

There is also the lf-22 which has potential with the boost though I havent seen or done any tests on this one yet.

Great tool to move around and easy to land on roofs like a chopper.

And so e of the SR planes are very practical as transport, they can take off and land in surprisingly little space compared to the older stuff.

 

Someone still needs to be at least a halfway competent pilot though to put it down safely on a road or in a field. But even a garbage pilot can safely take off and land a hydra in VTOL mode.

 

I do use my SR stuff as transport, I've taken off and landed on the short grass bank outside my vehicle warehouse & had no issues using roads as makeshift runways. I still spend most of my airtime in my Buzzard though. I'm still annoyed that R* didn't at least allow us to add flares or chaff to the Buzzard or the unarmed planes of pre smugglers run.

A Hydra is a bargain due to the fact you don't have to shell out millions for a hanger.

 

It doesn't have the armor. No U in the word armor btw.

Personally, I'd wait/research the coming Hunter, otherwise, great tool... Flexible.
