What did Big Smoke mean by this?

In the end of the mission Drive-Thru Big Smoke says :

,,If you can eat your food, while everybody else is losing theirs and blame on you, you straight homie''

 

I really can't see the wisdom behind these wise words of Lord Smoke.

Probably because he ate Carl, Ryder and Sweet's meals too.

It's a poor attempt at being thoughtful and introspective. He's basically saying if you can have what you want whilst others are failing and seem to assume it's your fault, you're doing something right. Unfortunately, this falls apart when you realise he's literally talking about eating other people's food.

 

He has a habit of doing that.

But knowing BS, it was actually about food.

Come on bro, it was well-known early in the game that Big Smoke talked a lot of sh*t, despite his laughable attempts to sound smart and give out wise words. CJ has digs at him for this several times.

I think that Big Smoke is working for Tenpenny, the association with the other gangs is purely Financial.

Remember Tenpenny said he is balancing the power of the gangs to keep crime organized.

It's perhaps a subtle wink to his drug traffic, the fact he takes advantage of people's addiction to steal their money, the fact he knows some people will hate him for it but he's too greedy for money as for food to stop.
