Plane Landing Gear

I have tried the Hangar setup at Zancudo and I find the mission very simple and fun, the guards could be even more reacting and agressive, but I endup screwing the final landing, always

I tried many spawned planes on GTAO and managed to land all fo them, even the Titan, on many short run wild areas, but I keep failing the damm landing at Zancudo Hangar Setup

I position well, slow down, level and gently land but the F... plane always ends up with no landing gear (broken or non existent ?), sliding it's belly to a stall, before I can direct it to the final Hangar

The plane has it's short landing gear always out, I looked carefuly, since the stolen spot take off until the landing one, so what the heck is missing, what m I doing wrong ?

Does it have an short LG to take off and an extra command for an extra LG lenght for the landing ???

Thanks in advance

HI, I dont even intentionaly use a button for that cause I see the landing gear is extended all the time since take off, I tried once the right key on the 4 directional menu, the one that turns car lights on or Cargobob hook

Should I stop pressing the brake for engines off and accelerate once Im rolling on the floor

Or there is really the neeed on the Mogul to extend the extra LG ???

Best too land is just low and slow, then soon as the wheels hit the ground hold down reverse and then the brakes will kick in, try not to make any erratic movements because you'll either glide up back into the air and kill the engine(guaranteed crash) or flip the plane over

Thanks again, still dont know if the Mogul needs to pull down wheels, but guess not cause they show all the time

I landed Lazers, Titans, Mallards, Cubans, Seaplane, commercial jets, etc, etc, hate the damm Mogul

There isn’t “extra landing gear”

And the Mogul doesn’t have fixed gear, like some of the racing planes, it has retractable gear, which is why you keep belly-landing

The gear extend/retract button on PS4 is pressing down on the left analog stick. It can be easy to unintentionally push while flying. I don’t know which button it is on XB1 or PC, but you can see that on the control setup in the pause menu.

What the f*ck is "short landing gear"? It's either retracted or extended. Up or down. If it's up, you're going to wreck your propellors and crash.

Why than do I See the landing gear down, since steal/take off and always endup without it when landing ???

And the short or extended was a question, not a statement, a logycal question due exactly to this issue

I see short wheels on the Mogul all the time as being out (extended), why than do I need to press for Landing Gear when landing ???

They're not out. You're seeing the very bottom of the tyre which is 90% recessed inside the engine nacelle when retracted. If you land like this, the belly of the aircraft hits the ground, and the propellors get trashed. You need to extend the gear so the struts ("legs") are pointing downwards, thus providing enough clearance, and allowing the shocks to take the weight of the aircraft. Here's a diagram of the similar B-17 main gear:

Post a screenshot of the belly of your plane while you are ready to land, we will tell you if it's out or not.

But the Mogul's landing gear is big, so if you talk about "tiny wheels", I heavily suspect you to land that thing on its belly.

Also, there are obstacles (some being tiny) across Zancudo runways...

Guess that explains it all

Thank you for all your details on the reply

Actually I think I have been using other spawned planes without ever retracting LG and that is why they never gave me landing issues, but somehow the Mogul retracts the LG automatically after take off

In fact my Character needs to climb for the door, so tall is the LG

Gona try tonight, I believe on PS4 is the stearing stick pressed downwards against the dual shock and not back or foward

Thank you all

Here's a good image showing the difference between wheels up and wheels down...it has one of each!

the moguls gear does not fully retract. although your props will scrape landing like that.

I watched this youtube video of the setup and right before he lands you can notice that really well

The Mogul flies with the LG quite down and showing well for a retracted feature

Than, although the youtuber does not explain it, you can clearly see the gear going down just a bit more than the sticking out retracted state

watch at minute 5:35 and some seconds after you see it barely going down up to an very small difference

cheers alllll, WE HAVE A NEW SMUGGLER TONIGHTTTTTTT - LordLoff

I would love to get a Buzzard for collecting contraband, just like this guy did, but I believe playing as an MC will not have that perk, let's wait and see

pft who uses landing gear, sparks are real man

Lol, tell that to the Zancudo base personnel, once I barely touched a crate with a wing tip on a take off and there they were, 3 stars with missile choppers and tanks on my slow Cuban 800
