In the year of 2025, San Andres lives with a war of multiple factions who fight each other, seeking for power and territories. The police is extremely corrupt and the Army no longer get involved with criminal matters. In the midst of this, a program is created by the City Hall of Los Santos to reward the winner with a role in the state Government. The Program consists in 20 participants divided in 6 groups, each one representing the animal symbolism based on their personalities. However, many participants are members of these factions, which makes what was supposed to be a clean competition turns into a cruel game involving murdering, sabotage, conspiration and the emergence of a huge war involving thousands of members, where the main goal, besides get the role, is to survive.

 

 

FEATURES:

 

- Format like a TV Serie (seasons and episodes);

- Different Points of View (POVs) in every single mission;

- 20 different protagonists;

- Extremely focused in the writting and the character development;

- Complex plot;

The concept of this seems rather difficult and confusing than anything else so far. I hope you take certain things into account, such as the supposed average age of the fellow designers and players in these forums, aswell as the game and it's mechanical limits, because thus far... It doesn't seem like an easy plot for anybody. As of myself, the main thing that I understood from the plot so far is a storyline based on a manipulative environment, which sometimes can be reffered to as... basically life, which to me looks the same today as it would most likely be in 2025, and until the day humans go extinct - only in a different stage of evolution. Secondly, I very much assume that someone's Game, as stated in your plot story, can simply otherwise be reffered to as someone's perspective, which is nothing new to us. What I have found new, is an "alternative society, where kids do not receive the appropriate restriction and turns into ambitious adults in the future, there is a process that every human being, alive or dead, practices, and consists in different people articulate schemes to achieve their socially unacceptable ambitions, without showing it to anyone." So what you basically mean, is a society where kids grow up without parents, without school and/or other subjects that educate them through their childhood? As far as I can assume, such society could simply be called degenerates. If that's what this mission pack is about, then I guess I would still like to give it a try and see what you came up with. Again, you are a talented designer. Good luck.

It's a complex a plot, you got that right. But it's not related to degenerates or extinction. It's an alternative reality (since it's not possible here in ours).

As for the plot, it's basically 20 people divided in 6 groups trying to achieve a job opportunity in the most machiavellian ways.

And about the Game: the Game is hard to define, as I put there. But it's going to be easy to realize how it works by playing the pack. I might release the first mission today.

Anyway, it's a really simple (talking about gameplay) MP, more like a coffee break project. The only complex thing here is the plot, as you said. I hope I can put it in an easiest way to understand in the pack.

By the way, I changed a bit the style of this MP because of life out there. I really do not have a lot time to do missions, and they might be with a lower quality compared to my regular missions, but it's all I can do right now. I hope you guys understand. Identity also will be put in hold again since I can't dedicate too much time to finish one mission per week, so I started this project here. It's more like a coffee break, as I said, but I'll try to offer you guys the best I can do right now.

Now that part of the first chapter is done, let me explain how The Game's structure will work.

 

First of all, The Game doesn't have a main protagonist. All 20 characters are the protagonists. That's why the missions will take turns from a protagonist to another, focusing on each different group in every single mission. We call "POV" characters (points of view) the ones who are playable in a specific mission. For example: the POV character of the missions 1, 2 and 3 is Paul (The Lions), the 4th is Arya (The Tigers) and the 5th is Jason (The Crows).

 

Second of all, this first chapter is only composed by cutscenes and dialogues, having no gameplay parts, for a reason. There are 20 characters to introduce in 8 missions, which makes to be impossible to put a gameplay part in the missions. Once the player is more familiar with the characters, after the end of the Chapter 1, gameplay will receive a bigger focus. That's why a feedback right is not really requested. But of course, will be always received to improve.

 

Third, I'll add a poll to the topic, wanting to know which group do you guys like the most. It won't change the story, but it's going to be interesting to know your opinion about the groups.

 

Fourth, we're getting to a crucial part of the chapter, which is the climax. In the end of every chapter, I'll try to make a scheme of how is the story, alliances, peace treaties and the relations of the groups and the characters, and also pointing the main events and its consequences. Since the plot it's too complex, I'm planning to change the topic structure aswell. That if you guys judge necessary, of course.

First mission of the Second Chapter is online. Combines a resume of the main events of the first chapter, plus the main titles containing all the locations that will appear in this chapter. For those who haven't played the first chapter yet and doesn't have any patience to play it (since it's made only by cutscenes or, in other words, it's boring) might be a good deal to see what actually happened there without losing anything important for this chapter. Still, I'd recommend you to play the entire chapter, since it's an introduction to the 19 main characters of the Game. It's important to the sequence of the story to know about the personality of every character introduced there.

Review: I will tell you the truth, these missions surprised me... The object placement, the gameplay, the plot/story, they all were out-f*cking-standing!!!! Man, couldn't believe that you put millions of efforts on this, more than any pro/senior designer! From the first mission to the latest mission, all of them are appreciated for me more than any designer in this community! For me, you're the best designer of this community, (With no offence) better than Jimmy_L! I must say that, for now you're the superlative designer after Jimmy's retirement in DYOM community! ^I mean, some people have reasons why they don't want to play even if they can play like 2 hours per day and only lurk around. One, most missions involved too much shooting objectives and some even too far destination only too encounter shooting again. It's just too bland and easy, everyone can do that. Probably the reason why I won't finish your MP.

 

Second, no more designing options since until now we are still stuck with DYOM 8.1. Most of the features have been done to death, so why bother to give more contributions for this community?

 

Sorry if I sounded like I was angry before. But if it's dying, then what can you do about it? I don't own it neither do you. So actually it's nobody's loss if it's truly dead. It's just that nothing can lasts forever. C'est la vie.

 

And no, I'm not a cussed jealous prick. Why should I be jealous over projects that honestly not anything special nor stand out from others? I'm just currently collecting motivations to design despite all reasons I've previously stated.

First, I agree with Riandy when he said that people are not really obligated to give their opinions about what they don't want to play, or don't get interested. They're not, really. But I believe you didn't notice the real purpose of Greengoo's comment, which obviously didn't mean that everyone should stop what they're doing in their lifes out there to make reviews about MPs and SLs. It was just an appeal to people considerate at least leaving a single comment to a topic who appears to be inactive in therms of feedback. I believe you failed to interpretate that.

 

Second, I proved last year that even being stuck with the same features isn't really important when you have creativity. You can take multiple inspirations from games or even other MPs. But say this is a reason to DYOM be inactive right now: fail again. Even so, you'd see one day if Dutchy announce a new version, the number of active members wouldn't increase.

 

Third, there is something we can do for the community yet. Me and the other moderators are thinking about a possible project for the future involving feedbacks. We understand that motivation is essential for those who design missions, and even for those who doesn't anymore. So expect something really cool coming not really soon.

 

If you have any other comments to make, send me a PM, or if you want to keep arguing, send a PM to each other (only try not to kill each other). Just let's please leave this area to the subjects related to the MP to avoid spam.

But I believe you didn't notice the real purpose of Greengoo's comment, which obviously didn't mean that everyone should stop what they're doing in their lifes out there to make reviews about MPs and SLs. Main Event #2: The Battle of the Birds

 

The Battle of the Birds it's an important event of the story of The Game. It's the massive shooting and escape of James and Rodric (The Owls) against the mobsters led by Nathan (The Crows). The shooting ends up in a helicopter exploding in the base of a huge crane, that falls in one of Downtown Los Santos' Buildings. After that, Nathan ended up being killed inside the building, while James and Rodric, the last one very injured, along with the rest of the people in the building, ended up being saved by Arya, that reveals herself being a covered up agent of the Triads named "Mother of Tigers".

Chapter 1

Amazing MP, so far. Pretty complex, with lots of characters. Not too many playable parts but its okay. Your grammar is exceptionally good, I found one grammar mistake though, I'm sure it wasn't intentional though. I was thinking about writing about some things but they might include spoilers. I know, I know, I can just put the "BBCode"
