RIP Ralphie May

Sorry to hear the passing of stand-up comic, Ralphie May to left a wife and 2 kids behind. He was only 45. He died of cardiac arrest (i.e. being a fat bastard) due to complications from battling pneumonia.

 

Other comedians often praised his generosity. Joey Diaz mentions of his podcast that no matter how poor May was in the early days, he would still invite you back to his house and cook up his guests a nice slap-up meal.

 

RIP, Ralphie, thanks for the comedy.

everybody in the scene knew it was only a matter of time.

he had the gastric bypass surgery and still couldn't keep the weight off.

And before you jump down my throat, Ralphie would have laughed at that. It's what he wanted.

Yeah it's shame. He wasn't my favourite comedian but he's much loved by all the other comedians on the scene like Bert Kreisher, Joey Diaz, Doug Stanhope and all those guys.

 

@El_Diablo: Didn't even know he had the bypass. That's a pity. I hate to see people go like Patrice O'Neil for treatable or at least somewhat preventable illnesses.

 

@AlienTwo: For sure man, that's why I made the "fat bastard" remark too. It just seems like the sort of crude, make light of a bad situation type of humour he would have.

I really enjoyed his comedy. I wish he would have taken better care of himself.
