Misa.And.Her.Hubby
We all know Insurgent Pick Up Custom (IPUC) runs faster and Half Track (HT) can take a few more RPGs. But I wanted to know more. And I did my own test with some friend's help. Ramming: When hitting small vehicles IPUC may fly and rotate. It never happens to HT. Cockpit Protection: Heavy armor plating of the cockpit of IPUC is purely decorative. The panel around the glass on the side window is same weak as the glass. If someone shoots your head through the panel (not through the glass) it can be an instant kill. Medium armor plating does the same thing, and you will still have the ability to shoot from the cockpit. On the other hand the panel on HT reduces bullet damage significantly, although it's not 100% bullet proof either. When someone uses a special rifle to shoot your head via the panel at a close range you may lose some health, but you won't be killed immediately. Thus I would prefer heavy armor plating for HT. In a practical test, I tried to gain 5 stars and drive from the Maze Tower to Paleto Bay, and I get killed in my IPUC with heavy armor plating before I get out of the city. However I can survive all the way to Paleto Bay in my HT with half health left. Turret Protection Against Bullet: The protection of the turret of IPUC is disappointing. Your head and half of your upper body is exposed to gunfire. Grab a minigun against players in their IPUC, I have more then 70% chance to take out both the driver and the gunner before they kill me. In comparison the turret of HT is much better protected. The facade is almost 100% bullet proof, leaving only a few part of your head exposed. Turret Protection Against Explosive: The turret of IPUC is same explosive proof as the car itself. But the gunner can be killed if someone fires an RPG against HT, although the HT itself can survive more RPG damages. Weapon Damages: I tried to shoot my Rhino from an exactly same distance and I used a stopwatch. The upgraded minigun of IPUC needs 56 seconds to blow it up, while the upgraded quad cannon of HT needs only 33 seconds. This test confirmed that quad cannon is much more powerful. Gaffa
and Half Track (HT) can take a few more RPGs. Excellent observations apart from this point, can you tell me where you got that info from?
ash-274
For the next test, time how long sustained Hydra-bullet fire they can take. I had a Hydra-coward try to s*** on my day and straife my Halftrack but it took hits and kept on driving.

I haven't tested bombing a half track of my own but I've tried to kill them with RPGS and they take a LOT of damage.

Yeah it should be 5 RPGs to destroy either the Insurgent Pick Up or Pick Up Custom as well as the Half-Track (or 9 RPGs when the vehicle is occupied), I'm just curious as to how this is now different. Halftrack medium armor gives you a 100% bulletproof front windshield and normal windows on either side, and you can still use driveby weapons. Heavy armor adds bullet resistant windows on either side, but the armor can be shot through and you can't use guns. So, use medium armor on your halftrack and remember to face enemies head-on or ass-on, because there is no back window. LegendaryGeeze
Ipuc, takes 27 RPG's/Homing Missiles, recently tested vs a friends Mk2 Opressor, all 20 missiles on mk2 oppressor was not enough to destroy ipuc, he had to send MK2 bk, recall it then use a further 7 missiles, feel sorry for all those who spent stuuuuuuuupid £££ on the MK2 Oppressor "ooh it's so OP" "The New choice for Griefers" "Blah blah,,,,,,,blah" MK2 opresor, imo, is utterly redundant vs the IPUC
