A Red Dead Redemption 2 Theory

A Red Dead Redemption 2 Theory:

In the story of the first RDR, John Marston starts telling on how he and his gang robbed banks, killed people and how they left him to die. On the other hand, from my perspective and analysis, their could be a big relation between Arthur Morgan and John Marston. And it goes like this(bare with me):

In the first RDR2 Trailer we hear Morgan saying “ When the time comes you gotta run and not look back, this is over.”

Now from that sentence it could be Morgan telling Marston you have to go away, you and your family after this.

Also from that we can know that the Van Dir Linde is having a conflict between it’s members, and Morgan & Marston are on the same side. Now here comes this theory:

Maybe Dutch has a conflict with Marston and orders Morgan to finish him or ordering Bill to kill Marston and/or prevent him from leaving the gang, and on this is where Morgan -probably at the end of the game- tells Marston to run and not look back, trying to warn him, and that this conflict is over or maybe the gang is over.

Another Theory:
In the RDR2 Trailer#2 Dutch says to Morgan:”Do you have my back?” And Morgan replies :”Always Dutch”. Probably after this there is a “But” because Dutch just feels unsafe and that one of the gang members-maybe Marston- want to kill him or maybe he got doubts on Morgan.

There is a lot of Theories I’m trying to know and analyze from what we got so far, of course we will know more once Rockstar gives us more info, after all those are just random theories could be 10% right or 100% wrong. Anyway this is the fun we have until Rockstar releases a game since it’s announcement.

We can all share theories and connections about what's going on between Marston, Morgan and the Van Dir Linde Gang.

*Sorry about any typos up there*

I prefer your first theory. It certainly seems creditable to be honest with you. Especially if Marston and Morgan build a bond and as they leave the train Morgan is told to kill Marston to avoid complications but instead Morgan tells him get gone.

There's alot of rumour Mills going around telling the so called "official story" claiming it's leaked. Well with that being said and checking on both your theory has similar paths.

Alot people are now believing we will be John at the end setting up the ranch that he returns to in the original redemption.

Its a possibility. Morgan telling him to get out of the gang.

But what's saying Morgan makes it to the robbery where Marston is left to die? He could be out casted or Murdered before if he has told Marston and it finds its way back to Dutch.

I think Morgan is very much the middle man of the gang though. So there needs to be someone that has a similar build to him in character for Dutch to risk having Morgan removed from the gang.

Thats why it's plausible Morgan could run his own gang and when heading into the new state finds he has to work with Dutch if he wants to stay there. If so and he recruits Marston he could be warning him put before Dutch and Morgan go to war.

And Marston needing the money for the ranch does one last robbery and they leave him for dead because his alliance was never truly with Dutch but was with Morgan.

I can definitely see Dutch being threatened of Morgan influence so anyway it goes, Dutch would notice relationships others in the gang have with him.

Bill was always completely allied to Dutch you can tell he is easily influence and his gang in the original Redemption was just common thieves. He couldn't truly run a gang and so Dutch wouldn't be threatened by him.

But the question then is why would he disband from Dutch?

Was Morgan the glue that kept them all together?

It certainly of big interest.

I most certainly agree with you too! We can like discuss and put theories all over the place xD

Good theory but Arthur and John won't be friends. Dan Houser is just going to recycle that lame Trevor/Johnny encounter for cheap shock value. I imagine just as Arthur decides to turn his life around, John will mercilessly stomp him into the ground. Then we'll be forced to hate the old protagonist and like the new one.

I didn't think of that. I hope it isn't the case to be honest. Plus what happens then? You play as John Marston who was took on by Dutch to replace Arthur? So we never see Dutch leave John for dead?

Maybe John turn him to the law...

Maybe but its a really low possibilty since Arthur is the one to tell him run and dont look back. Maybe bothe will fake something between them, like Michael faked his death type of twist.

I dont think we will hate John on this one, its a possible theory, but the rarity of it to happen is high.

I tend to agree with you. John openly admits to being an outlaw within 'A Gang' I need to reply to re listen to everything at close attention. It's been awhile.

But I feel it's more likely John is a young guy within the gang and the more I think of it the more I'm sworn that he holds Dutch in higher regard than Morgan. As they never planned for Morgan in the original Redemption and so he wasn't mentioned. You would've thought if he was such a big deal to John he would've had to have been mentioned at some point.

Unless it's too raw to speak about, that he was too close when their paths uncrossed.

I'm drawing closer to the conclusion that Morgan tells John to get out prior a big train robbery because the group will essentially go to shh afterwards.

John refuses and goes on with the job and when he gets shot or hurt, Morgan, Dutch, Williamson and any others leave John behind and Morgan leaves John with a suttle look like... I told you.

The only short and sweet appearance of John could be that its within the opening mission in a different state that's outside of the official map. It adds up considering they were fleeing from pinkertons.

I don't think Dutch is going to play as big a role as the latest trailer makes it seem. My theory is that if John is in the game, the gang turns on him very early in the story and Arthur somehow helps him and makes sure he survives it. The rest of the gang turn on Dutch shortly after (maybe the end of the "first Act") and he goes off into hiding until Redemption 1.

We'd spend the rest of the game playing with Arthur as the new leader trying to rebuild and expand on what's left of the gang. Basically, Dutch would be around long enough to get us through the tutorial missions before the story really gets going.

Maybe Dutch´s gang isnt the full focus of the game, Morgan starts as farmer family man then his wife and daughter is killed and raped by the gingers gang and he go out on a rampage seeking revenge when he achieves it in middle game he meets Dutch and starts working for him and then start robbing all the sh*t and sometime in a robbery a big sh*t happens and the whole gang has to go separate ways and laylow for a while but then Morgan is captured by the lawmen and is hanged by the neck , and then the game switchs to Dutch for free roam and 1 new side mission that it is the failed ferry roberry Marston got shot and left by the gang and the game ends

That is also something u r saying it would be interesting, and of course we know it aint gonna be ablut the gang only, there will be stories in between the characters and for each character as well.

I agree with you on that, but also not to mention in the Trailer it shows that Morgan is Dutchs right hand man, he is going here and there leading jobs and getting the money, also the gang seems to have their own buisness spread around there, and maybe thats where their reputation is about too, maybe you will have to check on how the buisness is going bere and there being the right hand man for the boss and of course there will be plot twists, gang will probably be seperated, and turned on each other.

Like we already have a lot of theories that all can be true in a way or another.

I still think Dutch could have a fair sized cameo within this title. Maybe not first hand. Maybe he gives information from other sources third hand. And the scene in the trailer is a rare time to meet him. On the other hand he could be an active member of the gang. Maybe not in action but there to call shots.

The first GTA V trailer had Michael talking about why he moved to LS. The whole monologue isn't even in the game.

In the character trailers, Trevor's lines, character locations and other detailed were altered.

Example:

"I'm new in town and I'm makin' friends, alright? A lot of friend! I mean, things could get reeeeeal messy!"

Where in the game it's actually two lines stuck together from the middle and end of the game.

"I'm new in town, and I'm makin' friends alright?..."

"... A lot of friend! I mean, things could get reeeeeal messy!"

or the "Pew! You'll be shot, amigo!" line not being in the same location as it is in the game. (After escaping in the train along with Michael and Franklin)

Meaning, you shouldn't take too much from what is said before you actually have some solid info.

Regarding Michael's monologue i think you can hear it in one of those Doc.Friedlander missions.
