Rockstar punish you for changing sessions - adds minutes to cooldown

As the topic says I just noticed that if you change sessions Rockstar add (at least) two minutes to your cooldown. In this case ie vehicle sale.

Has it always been like this and for what possible reason would Rockstar implement such a bonker punishment?

Is that true? I haven't noticed such punishment on PS4, but I won't doubt it if that's the case on PC.

True on I/E since it released f.e.. That's the one it happened for me (more than once). PC here.

I've noticed it several times on ps4

Edit: not 100% sure but I think it's mentioned in the I/E vehicle business knowledge base thread or whatever it's called

Probably been there since launch. I know it was there already a week or so after.

Its why I always source/sell and never keep a car to sell the next day.

Not sure about sales but I used to switch sessions alot until I got a collection car. Think they added 3min cooldown on them after GR.

The thing is that you loose your earned money after selling IE missions if you change the sessions or leave the game right after that :/
This's why I always wait 5-10 minutes before leaving the session.
And yes, I've seen some cooldowns (and not only with IE) but maybe it's just a freezing/stuck between the lobbies to find and download the session details?

Cooldown on I/E sourcing? Thats a new one to me. But then again, I never switch sessions because I get a wrong car.

I don't know about changing sessions, but I have had a timer on a few occasions after blowing up the sourced vehicle and returning to the office right away to attempt another source mission.

If they're so righteous, why wont they punish themselves?

Pretty sure when you AFK in bunker watching CCTV screens you still end up paying staff wages now. Left it on over night last night and it was almost 100k short this morning

I think this might have something to do with how, in the past, some people had been suspending their GTA Online sessions via the PS4/ Xbox dashboard or whatever, and that basically allowed them to sell another Import / Export vehicle without any timer cooldow after the new Online session loaded up. Probably an attempt to combat that.

I think It was 1m30secondes by the past, and recently yes they pushed it to 3min or something. Maybe since GR, I'm unsure.

Now I blow up Kuruma and avoid barge missions, because boredom and laziness :/. After 850 sales those missions with following the Kuruma+screaming Koreans and travelling half of the map just feel like daily punishment.

Pffft what ever I'll just pull my internet and reconnect it to force it to change sessions takes less than a minute (not counting the load time of course)

That was patched when GR released. Unfortunately.

Switching sessions doesn't affect the 2:30 sourcing cooldown, but it does mess with the selling cooldown. I had 7 minutes left on a cooldown and started switching sessions so my friends and I could sell without trolls. A few session switches, several "Cannot connect to GTA online" messages and a half hour later, we found a decent session...the cooldown was now 23 min. Ugh

i also get a cool down period when sourcing or selling cars (it's about 3 - 4 minutes) for me on xbox one.

3 minute cooldown if you "fail" the mission, if the car blows up or gets stolen.

2 minute cooldown after you deliver a vehicle.

"Leaving" during the mission might technically count as a fail so 3 min cooldown when you enter a new session.

FrugalDangerMan

I just finish the assigned car pickup, drive back to my office at a reasonable speed, pull into the garage, take the elevator to my office and walk to my desk. That typically burns through the cooldown.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Yeah that's a damn nuisance. It's also one of things that probably won't get addressed until several patches down the line or whatever. But hey, imagine if a new solo money glitch comes out, you can probably bet that gets fixed within a week! :/

oleg_aka_djmeg

that's been a thing with exports since day one... have 15 seconds of your cooldown, switch sessions and it's up to 35 minutes.

I haven't noticed this since I don't even bother with I/E but that sucks for others who just want to sell without hassle but then again, dat high demand bonus..

Rockstar are pretty weird to be fair. Trying to make sense of everything they do will get you nowhere fast.
