Fake Cops: a proposal for enhanced CEO/VIP/MC work and freemode shenanigans

I've always liked the idea of being able to play the part of a fake cop in GTA Online freemode, and especially having the ability to drive around in your own customized squad car/motorcycle or an FIB car. I think a "fake cop" aspect of Online freemode has some real teeth to it.

Here's the plan:

As a high-flying CEO/VIP/MC, you decide you need to conduct your business a little more under the radar, as to not draw the attention of law enforcement agencies. You're presented with a series of customizable cars for purchase (from existing police motorcycles, cruisers and SUV's, and coming in either police liveries or in a black "stealth option"). In order to acquire a cop car, you'll call Lester and get him to source you a car of your choosing. As the rigorous nature of sourcing a police car is inherently difficult, Lester commands a fee of $100,000 across the board.

Once Lester finds you a cop car, you need to head to the location on the map. However, there's a catch. As stealing a police vehicle for your own personal use is a massive no-no in the eyes of the legal system, you're presented with an automatic five star wanted level upon entering the car and triggering its tracking system, which the LSPD, LSSD and FIB installs in all of their vehicles. Thus, there is a critical need to strategically analyze how you are going to escape the police. You could acquire the services of highly skilled associates to help you in your lawless pursuits, or you could try your luck solo. As you will be greeted by hundreds of San Andreas' finest, you need to ascertain how you're going to get to job done efficiently and effectively. If the vehicle is destroyed, you will need to pay Lester another sum of $100,000 to source another car. Getting it right is critical!

Once you've successfully lost the cops, you'll need to visit Lester, where he'll remove the tracking system and install a duplicated tracker of an existing squad car, which will appear on the LSPD's, the LSSD's or the FIB's databases (depending on the agency from which the stolen car was sourced), which is for the purposes of non-detection. The fee for this service will be $50,000.

The next step will be to take your chosen vehicle to Benny's, where he'll upgrade your vehicle to be bomb-resistant, bulletproof, and completely overhauled, from the torsional rigidity of the vehicle's frame, to the engine's power and performance. This upgrade will cost $1,000,000. In terms of customization, Benny's will offer a wide array of police lighting options and bull bars/push bars to ensure your vehicle is as effective as possible, particularly in heavy traffic. Wheels will be customizable, but only in tough police stealth options (no chrome or otherwise gaudy options). Body work customizations will be minimal, but on selected vehicles slight cosmetic upgrades (mainly bumper lips and side skirts) will be available. In terms of liveries, the only option available is to select your squad number, should your sourced vehicle be from either the LSPD or the LSSD. The limited cosmetic options are to ensure non-detection and realism (and yes, to stop twelve year olds from driving around in chrome police cruisers with green neon lights under the chassis).

Once you've upgraded your vehicle, you'll need to visit Lester, where an array of police clothing will be available to you. Having this police clothing will come in handy later on. The clothing options will cost from $50,000 for a motorcycle highway patrol uniform, to $150,000 for a FIB combat uniform. If you want to be a secret agent or customize an existing uniform, you'll be presented with a wide range of options - a fully optioned custom uniform will command $250,000.

Ultimately, you are limited to three police vehicles in total, so choose wisely! Should you wish to sell your vehicle, you'll need to visit Simeon, where you will receive 40% of the total value of vehicle including customization (because a) he's a dodgy prick and b) who else specializes in questionable vehicular buying and selling?).

Here comes the fun part. A series of new freemode missions will be available for CEO's, VIP's and MC's to partake in. They'll involve the theft of various police/FIB documents which will be sold to the highest bidder. Organizations/Clubs are to go into various police stations or the FIB HQ and source classified and in-demand documents. Depending on your level of clearance (which rises the more experienced you are as a fake cop), the more classified the documents will be, and the higher the reward for successful completion. As you have a police vehicle, you will not initially be chased by the police, however after a short amount of time (three minutes), every cop in town will be after you. Additionally, as the police are immediately aware of the missing documents, the respective police agency issues a reward for the killing of the thieves and/or the successful returning of the documents. In terms of financial benefits, the money received for the successful theft and delivery of police documents begins at $10,000 for a local police warrant (level 1) and finishes at $50,000 for a Top Secret FIB document (level 9), with an incremental growth of $5,000 per level of documentation. The reward for those players/organizations who/which destroy a document will be half that of the thief's potential financial benefit, but the reward for those players/organizations who/which successfully return the stolen document will be double that of the thief's potential financial benefit (which means that a level 9, Top Secret document successfully returned to the FIB will net each organization member/player $100,000).

In other aspects of gameplay, bunker sales which usually command a wanted level will not longer acquire one should your organization give you a police escort in a customized police vehicle. In addition to this, there is a higher tolerance level before gaining a wanted level when in combat with other players, as members of the public are less likely to require police assistance when they think the police are shooting at potential criminals. This feature also works if fake cops are shooting at each other, as the public would still believe they're on the same side (who wouldn't?).

There is the potential for new police vehicles to be added and/or more nuanced aspects of gameplay, however I wanted to present a possible scenario based on existing vehicles, characters and likenesses to current gameplay.

Would do you guys think? Would you enjoy this type of addition to GTA Online freemode gameplay?

Let me know below :)

A civillian version of the Unmarked Cruiser (2nd generation Stanier) would be enough for me.

Cops being more tolerant to our Actions,a few missions there and there, and expensive Police Vehicles, all i could understand after reading that post.

I don't care at all if R* makes an update like that or not,but i don't see the point of implementing it to the game,

firstly these Police Vehicles wouldn't be capable of taking the fight with other Players, not even after customization,Police Granger Custom Versus Oppressor, you can already guess who wins,so what is the point of buying them?only to become less suspicious during our Operations?what is the point of becoming less suspicious to the NPCS if we are going to appear as an RED blip on the map for the other players when we are doing our stuff

Secondly, stealing documents from the FIB?leave that kind of thing maybe for heists part 2,or maybe leave it for SP since we already have an mission like that there, stealing documents from the FIB building isn't a simple mission to be done, especially on freemode with other Players trying to stop you.

Thirdly,we actually need better cops not more tolerant cops, cough cough six star, our Character have Military Grade equipment, its been a long time cops were a problem.

Fourthly, these contacts to help us do stuff in this DLC,it doesn't make sense at all,it would make more sense if Securoserv helped us,not Lester,Simeon,Benny or anyone else just Securoserv and our Assistant.

The Wandering Hunter

losing cops? tunnels are your friend, it's not like it's difficult

anyway, police vehicles would need to match the nightshark or atleast the old insurgent to be noteworthy to me. i'm not having anyone on my side in a steel coffin. missions forcing you to use a cop car would be sh*t otherwise.

Excellent concept - really well thought out and it makes a nice change to read someting coherent and well-written on here.

Definite room for expanding on this but it's a really good idea. Would certainly get my vote money.

With the introduction of the RCV, I hope Rockstar introduces more police vehicles for personal use.

I still think a cops DLC would be awesome.

nice personstar said in 2013 heists would release "Soon"

Cumstar said in 2015 there would be no more heists because part 1 was too hard to make

c*ntstar said there would be single player DLC
