Gta V crashing after a few hours of playing

Specs: I3-6100

GTX 105TI 4GB

8GB of ram

Yea, I know I have a bad CPU, and I'm going to replace it soon with a better one. Is it possible the I3 is causing the crashes?

It says for an unknown reason.

Now it is crashing even more. Starts with giving me lag spikes for 10 seconds and then crashes. Anyone got a solution?

Might be your computer dying, we are talking GTA V here and not GTA Online, right?

 

Have you checked for dust and perhaps used some compressed air to clean the machine out?

 

What about graphic settings in-game - does reducing them have any bearing on whether the crashing is more frequent or less?

What do you mean by my computer dying? It's pretty new, I've had it only for 6 months. No there's no dust

Haven't tried reducing graphics, they're all set to high or very high, and my gpu should be able to handle those. I just have a feeling it's only online, not sure tho. I'll try to play offline tomorrow and see if I still have those crashes.

Well if you're in GTA Online, then it could easily be other players crashing you, if they're using cheat/ mod/ hack menus.

 

Definitely give it a go in GTA V (single player) though and see if you're still getting the issues. Indeed I'd hate for it to be anything in the system itself - I'm having to send a machine back for repair as the GPU is already knackered on it - it's a GTX 1070 that's only just a year old but has caused more issues than something less than half the price.

These crashes did not happen before I switched some settings to better. I'm going home in about 9 hours and I'll try messing with the settings, and see if that helps at all.
