500 injured, 58 people dead. ow the f*ck is this a lone gunman?

When you put it that way, it sounds like a damn warzone. It's unbelievable what kind of sh*t happens when a fool gets his hands on a gun. Edited by fashion

I Love Anna Kournikova

I don't even know what to think anymore. All the bad sh*t happening in this country is beginning to really make me open my eyes and not want to be here. I don't want to be afraid to leave my house and go to an event because of a fear of something happening.

There is so much evil in this world and it really does make me sick to my stomach. Sandy Hook, Boston Bombings, Orlando, Las Vegas and so many other senseless shootings have really opened my eyes. I guess they should have been opened well before these events but maybe I am a piece of sh*t since previous events didn't affect me directly (nor have any shootings thakfully). Or maybe its just part of maturing and growing up?

There are so many victims beyond just the ones at the event. Families will have to proceed in life without the ones they loved so much. Kids lost Parents, Parents lost kids, Friends lost Friends, there are countless victims here. All because one Coward decided to bring out the evil in himself. What a f*cking Shame.

I understand your desire, so I'll not post opinions but a list of things you can do that actually have some positive outcome(you being Americans, since this is an American problem):

This is the kind of thing I meant.

Outside of America, the one thing most people can do/think to do is spread the word/raise awareness, pay respects etc. Of course it's not much but it's better than nothing or turning a blind eye.

Not A Nice Person

Why even make these threads in the first place, typing RIP on the internet isn't helping.

What do you suggest?

Honestly.

What can most people actively do besides show respect and spare a thought for those affected.

Is arguing with others or having an attitude problem helping? Nope. People are still doing it though, complain about that.

E - Okay, I realised I've just done exactly what I was saying wasn't really nice to see.

Again, focus should be on those who have been taken from their families so cruelly, not on people's sh*tty attitudes.

Express sympathy on your own, typing posts on a forum is extremely weird and unnecessary especially when you go back to your gossiping on Kylie Jenner's baby.

E: I just thought about it and of the mass shootings this decade this is definitely the strangest one. How'd he get a fully automatic gun with that range? How'd he get it up to his room? How'd he shoot out of it when the glass is impenetrable? His hotel room was positioned so he could mow these people down.. so many questions.

I don't want to go off topic but how can you possibly support the current US gun laws after sh*t like this happens?

You're smart sitting behind your keyboard but when your loved one was right there in the crowd, or even you, you'd sing a different song.

If you want to be an edgelord and whine about people expressing sympathy, you can do it elsewhere.

500 injured, 58 people dead. how the f*ck is this a lone gunman?

do you know what happened?

the guy sat comfortably up in a hotel room - several hundred feet away from the show itself - and just opened fire down into the exposed and helpless crowd who were all packed together watching a concert. he was literally shooting fish in a barrel. we should be so thankful that the number of dead is around 50, because it could easily be 100+ given the situation.

once again we have a mental health crisis in this country combined with too many firearms which are too easily accessible. I don't have the answers but I know what the problem is...

Imagine if he had a hand grenade or two. Luckily those aren't easily accessible.

You couldn't have any less respect, could you?

I'm willing to bet that most of the 500+ people who were injured sustained their injuries from being trampled by other concert goers trying to escape the shots.

Still it's best not to make major constitutional decisions in the heat of emotions. Anyway, thats too bad about the vics.

Why do people like this exist?

"No photos/video of bloodied victims, dead or alive.

Clinton's first reaction - we need tougher gun controls

Brother's first reaction - we need tougher gun conrol

Stinks of another false flag, perpetuated by communists looking to disarm Americans so the 1% can treat them just like how Mao and Staling treated their citizens."

I mean, the group of people who are mentally well doesn't really have much overlap with those who commit these sort of acts...it's not "he did this because he's crazy" but it's still a factor.

I didn't say that. It's in the comments of a newspaper website.

@Deadite- I'm just wondering why people like that exist. Gun lovers.

It has come out that the shooter is a multi-millionaire real estate investor and had at least 20 guns and thousands of rounds of ammo in his room.

It has also come out that his Dad was on the FBI Most Wanted list back in the 1960's for bank robbery and once caught he was diagnosed as a psychopath and we all know mental illness can run in families especially close blood

So the guy was most likely a 64 year old violent psychopath? One has to wonder if these are his first kills in that case. I find that hard to believe now because of his age. He might have killed people before without getting caught.

Well today has been rather awful, yeah? :/

edit: Yes, mental health issues can have a genetic component. And no, "close blood" doesn't need to play a part. I'm bipolar and the last person known to have a related disorder (schizophrenia) on both sides of my family was my great grandfather. It's all variable based. Your environment, genetics, etc.

Triple Vacuum Seal

What makes this so strange is the lack of the typical factors/traits seen in other spree shooters...aside from being divorced, which is the norm nowadays anyway. So the whole "dejected loser' stereotype doesn't seem to fit at least in this point in the investigation. Perhaps he got a terminal illness diagnosis or something. Or maybe the gambling got out of control. Not trying to speculate too much, but just wondering what kind of motives would be confidential or sensitive enough to not yet be apparent to the media. One would imagine that mass media organizations have scraped at least some of his social media presence for anything out of the ordinary. This is truly puzzling.

Rational or not, a motive will surely arise out of this nonsense.

You'd be surprised. The lack of utility from that distance is more of a factor than the lack of accessibility.

This must have been planned months ago. He couldn't have been transporting 100 ammo packs and several automatic weapons in a short period of time.

He set the concert as a target.

Maybe he lost all his money on bets and decided to end his life, but didn't want to go alone.

^^^ I was in Las Vegas in May to see a Robin Trower concert.

we stayed at the Bellagio.

but it makes me curious about the details of the shooting itself.

90% of the hotel room windows in Vegas do not open. to prevent falls and suicide. most of them have tinted / darkened glass. I wonder how exactly he set himself up without being seen inside of his room while getting a clear shot below him. maybe he just shot through the window. reports say that the shooting continued uninterrupted for like 10 or 15 minutes. the guy had enough time to shoot until he was satisfied and then take his own life without incident. you have to imagine that if you were on the same floor in the same building, it would've been pretty loud and obvious where the shots were coming from which room. these casino resorts are full of cops and security. it's pretty discouraging to think that they couldn't have gotten someone up there sooner to bust down the door and take him out.

Those windows can not be seen into during the day. He probably checked in at 11am, set everything up and waited until night to break it open.

Also heard there were some diversions to get cops towards another part of the strip
