Welcome to the twenty-ninth issue of the GTAForums Weekly newsletter!

Happy October, everyone! Red Dead fans across the GTAForums community all gathered in the Red Dead Redemption 2 sub-forum this week to witness the release of the latest trailer for the game. The new trailer led many to speculate about whether or not the map leaked earlier in the year is legitimate or not, which may be a possibility as some trailer scenes line up well with what's seen on the map. Others just joined in on regular discussion of the trailer, mostly about characters and scenery. Of course, you can always read more about RDR2 in Rockstar Central segment. All aboard the hype train!

The Red Dead Redemption 2 sub-forum was also re-located to the top of the GTA Network section, although we believe it's only temporary.

Semi-finalist voting had begun earlier in the week for Season 3 of the GTAForums Snap Battle. Forum members are encouraged to cast their votes for their favorite Snapmatic shot in each platform poll. Voting for the semi-finalist round ends October 6th at 9 AM GMT, so you still have plenty of time to make a decision. The winner of Season 3 will be provided with the prize of physical GTA V radio station buttons. As always, good luck to all participating!

No new round of the Weekly Vehicle Showdown at the time this is being posted, but Week 22 shows the Annis Elegy Retro Custom in the lead with 22 votes to the Declasse Voodoo Custom's 9 votes.

Part 3 of the Goon Squad showcase in Customs, Cruisers, and Classics had been released as well. This week, crew member @einjzmolf was interviewed. You can check it out here.

GTAForums currently has a total of 15,075,201 total posts (+15,504 from last week) and 716,244 total members (+376 from last week) at the time this is being posted.

Welcome to the twenty-ninth week of Rockstar Central! I’m your host, @Spider-Vice, and we’ll be highlighting this week’s happenings in the Rockstar Universe.

Red Dead Redemption II

The eagerly awaited information for Red Dead Redemption 2 (or shall I say II) has arrived! Along with a trailer, some story information has been released, revealing the main premise of the story. As per Rockstar, we’ll be following the story of "outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”.

This information confirms that the game is a prequel, featuring Dutch van der Linde and the gang, along with a brand-new character that seems to be the only protagonist of this new adventure – a heartless outlaw called Arthur Morgan.

You can watch the trailer below:

This trailer release also features a brand identity change, as the game’s brand is now stylised as Red Dead Redemption II, with the roman numerals, instead of the “2”. I prefer it with the roman numerals myself, it’s akin to the latest GTA releases.

The sparkling new visuals and the insight into the story has also sparked many, many reactions over at the RDR2 forums, which I urge you to visit right now for all the latest discussion, here!

Because this trailer showed us more of the map, along with the returning characters and story, something has also come to light. The leaked map may after all be legitimate! Many people are now connecting the scenes of Trailer 2 to places that actually exist on the leaked map, including place names like Cornwall (thanks to EVOLU7ON for finding this) which was found on a train. Follow all the latest findings in the mapping thread here!

On other leak news, it looks like a leak that popped up apparently even before announcement on Reddit might hold some legitimacy to it… The leak specified that we’d be playing as an outlaw named Arthur who is part of a gang, with many other details that talked about a prequel... Because there is the chance this leak is legitimate, and it does specify some story details, we’re going to link it here only, so click at your own risk if you don’t want to be spoiled on any details, in case it is actually legitimate.

Taking advantage of this section of Rockstar Central, let’s not forget GTANet’s sister site RedDeadNet, or the Red Dead Network on Twitter where we’ve been all over the hype these past few days. Be sure to pay a visit and follow!

Rockstar General

This week, several classic Rockstar games including GTA Liberty City Stories and Max Payne 2 were rated by the ESRB for release on the Playstation 4. Very interesting development that Rockstar is showing interest in porting classics to the PS4, but there is no info on a release date. Gematsu has compiled a full list of the games that have been rated on their site.

Also, for a bit of trivia, Rockstar promoted their newest GTA Online bonuses on Twitter for everyone, but didn’t break the streak of RDR2 tweets on their actual Twitter account. Many people were intrigued by this, and rightfully so. Rockstar used Twitter Ads to promote this on people’s timelines instead of actually posting it on their profile. More RDR2 coming, or are they afraid of criticism because they post something GTAO related right after the RDR2 trailer? Interesting nonetheless.

GTA Online

Red Dead Redemption II’s hype didn’t stop Rockstar from releasing some brand-new bonuses for the criminals who were still in Los Santos this week instead of shaking and fidgeting in their couches or chairs waiting for the RDR2 news to drop.

This week, Rockstar has made the Howard NX-25 airplane available to players, a new airplane that combines the classic beauty of the golden age of aviation with blistering performance. You can pick it up from Elitás Travel in GTA Online. But beware... You might not be able to land it. And I don’t recommend stunting too much with it or you might have some real life vertigo!

Through the 2nd of October, Rockstar is running some new bonuses, and extended the Bombushka Run Double GTA$ and RP rewards from last week until then. Along with this, they extended the bonuses to Bunker-based Adversary Modes as well.

Several varying discounts are also available for a lot of items and property, as follows:

- 15% off the LSIA Hangar 1

- 25% off the Fort Zancudo Hangar A2, Hangar Floor Graphics and Lighting

- 35% off the Savage helicopter on both prices, along with the Buckingham Swift helicopter

- 40% off the Buckingham Swift Deluxe helicopter

- 25% off Parachutes including bags and smoke trails

- 25% off the Annis RE-7B supercar, the Western Nightblade motorcycle and the Principe Lectro motorcycle.

This week’s premium stunt race and time trial are:

- Premium Race: “Wall Climb”, locked to supercars

- Time Trial – “Vinewood Bowl”

This week, we shine the light on leader of the infamous group, The Yardies, and author of Mutiplay Monitor, @AndyGanteks.

unbid: As a GTAF member for well over 10 years, what has been your favorite part about the community?

AndyGanteks: Definitely the spirit and the hype of the community before the release of a new video game from Rockstar, be it GTA, Max Payne, RDR series as of recently, or any other. Looking for any bits of information, various mapping threads, searching for clues and leaks...When the game itself is released, that is also a great cycle. Everyone is posting their discoveries, guides, screenshots, videos, and it's always fun to read that and be a part of it, the first 5-6 months after release to be precise. You all also saw how the T2 vs Modding battle originated here a few months ago, that's another thing to be proud about this forum and it's members, never giving up.

What have you learned from all of your experience here?

I learned a lot, i really did. There were many interesting posts and generally good things i've come across, but i also got taught a few good life lessons. I met various people who i probably never would in my surroundings, learned a lot about people in general, so it's really been an educational journey, and it still is. I will never forget some of the events that happened here in my 10+ years time on GTAF, both good and bad.

Could you explain the history behind your username history?

When i was young(around 9 or 10), i used to watch Dragon Ball Z among other cartoons, and one of the characters there was named Gotenks. At some point during that stage of life, i came up with my own name for a DBZ character, it being Ganteks. Eventually, a few years later i couldn't think of a PSN name, so i selected AndyGanteks, and over the years it grew on me and became my gaming alias on PSN, Steam, forums and similar gaming places.

The Yardies are one of the largest and most active group based on GTAF, but for those unaware, how did it all start?

It started in 2008 during the SA:MP era and prior to the release of GTA IV on PS3 and 360 when the multiplayer section was re-opened(after the 2007 closure due to drama in the PGC). You should've seen the hype in those 3-4 months of 2008 when multiplayer was first announced for GTA, truly good times. I was one of the 5-6 original members of the group who joined in March 2008, but not the founder. After a few months, i took the gang over, and now it's 2017, we're now 9.5 years old and heading into the decade anniversary next year, right before RDR II release.

What are your plans or goals for the group in the near future?

That's a secret. But there's definitely a lot of interesting things coming, especially with no new GTA in sight, and RDR II on the horizon.

What inspired you to create Multiplay Monitor?

I didn't actually create it. Like with The Yardies, i took it over, after around 7 issues, salvaged it from ending and kept running it for many years now. I think it's been 8 years total. It's a monthly publication, but over the last 3 years, it didn't come out as frequently due to many problems in real life i've faced, and MM just wasn't a priority. Things have slowly improved, and so are the chances of MM going back to it's regular monthly state.

What would you like to change the most regarding GTAF?

I would probably re-order a few forums here and there, and a few other "cosmetic" changes as well, but nothing extreme that would change the core concept of how the forum works nowadays.

Which forum member(s) do you feel closest to?

I don't really have anyone in particular to mention. Obviously The Yardies, staff members, and a few other individuals spread across various gangs, as well as a few who aren't in any group at the moment. But i can't pin point one or few names.

What's your favorite Rockstar Games series or title?

Look at my profile. Maybe it's a bit of nostalgia, since that was the first GTA i played, before finally playing every other game in the series over the years. But i have to be honest, like with closest member, i can't really pick one that stands out the most for me. Even the 2D GTA's have a special place in my gaming cabinet.

Do you have any other interests, hobbies, favorite music, and so on? Tell us more about the person behind your alias.

My interests and hobbies mostly revolve around sports and other sport related things. Don't have a favorite anything in music, books, tv shows...It mostly goes like this: there's a few music genres i like and listen, a few tv series and a bunch of movies i watch, few different types of food i eat, bunch of car brands i learn about and so on. I like to experiment with lots of things. It would be easier to answer if you asked me what i don't like in music, or what food i hate to eat, or what tv program makes me want to throw the TV down the 9th floor narrowly avoiding my neibour's head(And no, this last thing never happened).

Any final comments? Do you have anything to say to our readers & the GTAF community?

Dear readers, i hope you liked my interview. Thanks for reading and have a pleasant day.

Also, have some duccs.

It always varies between members, so sometimes we can't always squeeze out or predict a lengthy interview. I think you will enjoy next week's interview though ;)

Mach's shot is the best by very far, and one of the best GTA V pics I've ever seen. Classy, imponent, superb.

The interview was a good read.

Mach is a master of B&W pics. He's untouchable on that front.
