ṼirulenⱦEqừinox 2,099
So you wanna learn how to post a picture, video or gif eh? UrineLuck that's what this thread is here to do for you. CLICK HERE FOR POSTING MOBILE TUTORIAL ON HOW TO POST IMAGES & YOUTUBE VIDEOS FROM MOBILE DEVICES CLICK HERE!! POSTING PICTURES Via PC Best Image Hosting Sites are Imgur. & Gyazo Imgur, Gyazo are regular image hosting sites while Gyazo is still an upload and hosting site it's mainly function is for Screen capturing program which allows to screenshot what is current on your screen and then auto uploads to their website, If you are looking to post a screengrab then Gyazo is the best website to use but it does require you to download their software but their software is free and also comes with a GIF Screenshot application as well. There is a Pro version of the program which offers you features that Imgur/TinyPic don't such as allowing for 60 seconds GIF captures while sites such as Imgur & GIPHY only allow for 15-20 second GIFs bluring out, Boxing, Arrows, Text but it Does Not offer the option to Crop or resize your photos and these features are for Images only they don't work on Gifs. Will add Tutorial for Gyazo as soon as I am back on PC DO NOT USE PHOTOBUCKET AS THEY ARE NO LONGER A FREE SITE THEY CHARGE TO KEEP YOUR PHOTOS ON SITE Warning: Simply adding .jpg/.png to the end of a photo URL will not make it work even if you use the Image BBCode [IMG][/IMG] Posting pictures is very simple and easy to do just follow the steps below and you'll have no problem attaching pictures to your thread/post But a word of advice do not use any temporary photo hosting sites unless you don't care if your photo are deleted after so many hours as they do not keep your photos on their servers for more than a few hours so if you wish to keep your photos visible for everybody make sure you use a photo hosting site. Method # 1 When posting a picture you need to make sure that your picture has the following extensions attached to them those extensions being .jpg and .png if your picture extension doesn't have either of those at the end of the image url then it will only appear as a link instead of a picture. Once you've found the picture you wish to attach to your thread/post you will need to upload it to an image hosting site such as Imgur, Gyazo ect (I honestly prefer Gyazo) Posting Pictures Using the Insert Image From URL Option (This method is only for already existing URL's if you need to learn how to post photos from your phone/computer scroll down) This method is by far the easiest if you already have an image URL and don't need to upload your image anywhere just copy the image URL making sure it ends in .jpg .png or ,gif then click Insert Image From URL and then Copy the URL into the second box that appears then click Insert Into Post and if you use the correct image format the image will appear in your post (This part is for those who want to post their images from their mobiles, tables and computers) Once the picture has been uploaded go to your Profile and then click on the Image once you've clicked on the image the image will appear with a box on the right-hand side with a bunch of URLs to choose from you want to copy the Direct Link URL as that one has the extension needed to post the picture. After you have Uploaded your photos to an image hosting site and have copied the Direct Link URLs simply come back here to your thread/post and press CTRL+V or Right Click > Paste and as long as you have copied the correct URL the image will post automatically with you needing to do nothing Method # 2 This method is meant to be used when trying to post an image from a website rather than from photos on your desktop/phone When attempting to post an image from a website there is actually no need to go though the steps of saving the picture, uploading the picture and then copying and pasting the image direct link when you can simply just Copy & Paste the image itself making it simple quick and easy to do When you find the picture you wish to post in your thread/post simply go to the picture Right Click on the image and then select Copy then come back here go to your post Right Click in any void of the post and Click Paste or CTRL + V and the image should appear. If for some reason the image appears as a tiny white box then it means the image doesn't have the correct image extension to be posted here on the forum in which case you will need to upload it to an image hosting site but you may not have to save the image to your desktop in order to upload it. Sites such as Imgur & Gyazo allow you to simply copy and paste the image URL and upload it from there now in order to get the image URL it's fairly simple it's the same process as Method #2 but instead of clicking Copy you will instead select Copy Image Address/Copy Image Link and then go to the Photo Hosting site click Upload and on Imgur there is a small box where you will paste the Image Address and it will auto-upload and on TinyPic you'll select the URL option paste the image address and select upload But if for some reason the images can't be uploaded via that means you will have to revert to Method # 1 by saving the Image to your desktop and following the steps in method #1. Posting YouTube Videos Posting your YouTube videos is simple as 1, 2, 3 really all that it entails is a few clicks of the mouse and Volia! your video will appear in your post, There are two methods that you can use in order to post YouTube Videos Simply copy the URL in the address bar come back here to your thread/ post-Right Click + Paste or CTRL + V and the video will automatically appear But I will warn you this method doesn't always work especially if trying to post from Mobile it will give you the m.youtube mobile link instead of the full URL and it may not work but if you are using a computer or tablet that doesn't give you the mobile link this method should work just fine but if you are on a Mobile device use the method below every time to ensure the video will post correctly. Once you have found the YouTube video you wish to post simply scroll down to just below the video screen to find a "Share" button click on the Share button and a small window with a link will appear Once this window appears simply click on the Copy button and it will automatically copy the URL for you once you have done that simply come back here to your thread/post and Right Click + Paste or CTRL + V and the video will automatically appear. Posting GIFs When it comes to posting GIFs it can be a little frustrated because not every GIF will work even though it looks like a GIF, Acts like a GIF and even Smells like a GIF it doesn't mean it's a GIF though it could actually be an .mp4 which the site doesn't support in order to post a GIF on here you need to make sure that it has the .gif extension on it just like when posting a picture you need to have the .jpg/,png but if it doesn't it's a simple fix just like with images which I will show you how to do below. But first, let us start out by how to post a GIF that already has the correct .gif extension attached to it. When you find a GIF you want to post you can do one of two things you can either Right Click + Copy Image or Right Click + Copy Image Address/Link and then come back to the forum and Right Click + Paste or CTRL + V to paste the if the image has the correct .gif extension than it will automatically appear but if the Paste option is greyed out or the image URL ends with .mp4 or doesn't automatically appear once the URL is pasted then it doesn't have the correct extension needed and needs to be fixed using the methods posted below. There is a way to tell if the GIF is a .mp4 rather than a GIF when you Right Click and try and Copy or select Copy Image but the only option you have is Copy Video Address/Link than that means the GIF is actually a video and it can't be posted on here but as I said above if that happens there is a simple fix for that to turn a .mp4 into a GIF. Turning .MP4 into GIFs DO NOT USE IMGUR FOR GIFS AS ALL VIDEOS UPLOADED TO IMGUR ARE CONVERTED INTO.MP4 AUTOMATICALLY NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE VIDEO IS NOW AND SIMPLY CHANGING .mp4 to .gif NO LONGER WORKS ON HERE To turn a .mp4 into a GIF is fairly simple and easy to do once you've figured out the GIF is, in fact, a .mp4 go to GIPHY.com this site will allow you to turn any .mp4 into a .gif which you can then turn and post on here. Reminder: GIFs must be limited to 20 seconds or less on GIPHY There is another site you can use for GIF www.makeagif.com but the limit is 20 seconds and you must make an account in order to use the 20-second method but the account is free to make and use. If you do decide to use MakeaGIF.com make sure that you select the GIF option once your GIF has finished loading as it automatically selects the .mp4 option If you use Gyazo to make your own GIFs there is a way to post them on GTAForums without needing to upload them to a secondary site simply Right Click on the picture and select Copy Image Link/Address and go to the address bar or open notebook and delete mp4 and replace it with gif and then copy/paste the URL in the address bar or notebook onto your post and it will automatically appear Reminder - You MUST edit the url before posting it here, copying the .mp4 url and then deleting it and replacing it with gif once you've posted it here will not convert it. Turning an .mp4 found Online into a .gif This method involved simply copying the .mp4 link itself and uploading it to GIPHY this method works best if you are just wanting to take a .mp4 you found during an image search and want to turn it into a .gif so you can post it on here. Locate the .mp4 you are wanting to turn into a .gif Right Click + Copy Image Link/Address once you have done that goes to Giphy.com and select Upload and at the bottom of the screen you will see an address bar this is where you will paste the image link if it will accept the link it will take you to the next screen where you will click "Upload" and from there it will upload the .mp4 turning it into a .gif Turning your own clips into a GIF Save the .mp4 to your desktop and then open Giphy in your browser and once GIPHY is open select the Upload Option (Do not use Create unless you want to add text or special effects to the GIF) once the GIF upload is completed it will tell you via little blue bar click on that bar and it will take you to your newly uploaded GIF There are two methods to post this GIF on here Right Click On GIF + Copy or Right Click On GIF + Copy Image Link/Address come back here to the forum click on your thread/post and then Right Click + Paste or CTRL + V If you have any suggestions or would like to see something added please feel free to send me a PM and I will try my best to comply Updated December 11thth 2020 Edited December 11, 2020 by ṼirulenⱦEqừinox Adding new method 6
ṼirulenⱦEqừinox 2,099
Posting an Image & YouTube Video via Mobile Most GTAFourm Users are mobile based and in the previous IPB3 version posting images via Mobile had a lot of steps using BBCodes and everything else but since the upgrade to IPB4 it's been made simple as copy and pasting the Image Direct Link. Just like if you were posting from a PC you need to make sure the image extension ends with a .jpg or .png While the pictures and videos I have posted are from an Apple device the method of posting is the same with both IOS & Android using the Imgur Mobile Site AS OF RIGHT NOW GYAZO IS THE BEST SITE TO USE FOR UPLOADING AND POSTING PICTURES VIA MOBILE DEVICES [bTHE FOLLOW VIDEO ARE TUTORIALS ON HOW TO USE GYAZO MOBILE SITE & APP[/b] GYAZO VIA MOBILE BROWSER Step One • Go to Gyazo.com Step Two • Click the + symbol in the upper right corner Step Three • Click Browse > Select Photo Location > Select Done Step Four • Once photo has loaded click on the the three point symbol me to the trash can in the upper right corner Step Five • Go to where it says Direct Link and Click Copy Link Step Six • Return to your GTAFourms post and paste the link and press return on your keyboard to make the photo appear REMINDER IF YOU DO NOT HIT RETURN ON YOUR PHONE KEYBOARD AFTER PASTING THE LINK THE PICTURE WILL NOT APPEAR GYAZO VIA MOBIKE APP[/color Step One • Open Gyazo App & Press the little picture symbol Step Two • Select Your Photo then when you’re taken back to the main screen press the Cloud symbol to upload your picture Step Three • Click on your picture then click on the three point symbol next to the trash can Step Four • Go down to where it says Direct Link and click on the blue Copy Link Step Five • Go back to your post on GTAForums click and paste the link then press return on your keyboard to make the picture appear E PI Posting YouTube Videos Posting a YouTube video is fairly simple really it just requires copy and paste the YouTube URL which is simple as this. Website ~ If you are trying to post a video from your mobile browser you can do it two ways... Copy the URL in the address bar at the top of the web browser come back here and paste it into your thread/post Click on the "Share" button which is a little-curved arrow pointing to the right, copy the link and then paste the URL in your thread/post. YouTube App ~ With the YouTube app there is no URL at the top of the page like with browsers but it's still very simple just select the "Share" option and select Copy Link then come back to your thread/post and paste the link. As long as you've copied the correct URLs/Links the videos will appear in your thread automatically with you not needing to do anything else. Next-Gen Vercettis 629
I used to use imgur on mobile to add pics to my posts here but it doesn't seem to work anymore (imgur mobile version I mean, not the upload process). Is there any other free sites I can use now instead? It's just to get pics/screenshots from my phone to GTAF, I don't need it for anything else.
