And I have my doubts that they'll kill off the second straight protagonist. I think it's likely therefore that Arthur will abandon the gang by the end of this game, probably having helped John out in some way toward the end. The government still wanted him dead. Jon abandoned the gang and had started an honest life entirely, but the government kidnapped his family and wanted him dead. The only options I see for Artie are for him to flee far far far far far away, or die, and riding off into the sunset to live happily ever after doesn't sound like Red Dead Redemption's style.
