DMC34
I'm trying to run the following mod on Windows 10: http://www.moddb.com/mods/vice-city-stories-pc-edition/downloads/gta-vice-city-stories-pc-edition-beta3 I was able to install it, but whenever I try to open it, I receive the following message: "Cannot find 1536x864x32 video mode." I've tried deleting the .set file in my San Andreas User Files directory, but that didn't help. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
LaDiDa
Remove any mods that modify the screenresolution/ratio, start the game then set your wanted resolution and put the files you removed back. Should work after that. Edited September 28, 2017 by LaDiDa
DMC34
The only mods that I have are a few Cleo scripts. I tried removing those, opening SA, and changing the resolution (I changed it to 640x480x16), but that didn't help. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Vice City Stories: PC Edition while the SA resolution was changed, but I'm still getting the same error message. Is there anything else that I can try? LaDiDa
try your native resolution with x32 at the end, that works for me (or install silent patch, even though it should already be included within the mod and remove the .set file again to let SP default to your native screen res). DMC34
My current resolution is 1920 x 1080, which doesn't seem to be an option in San Andreas. Just as a test, I tried changing my resolution to 1680 x 1050 (which is my current SA resolution). When I tried loading the mod, I received a slightly different error message: "Cannot find 1344x840x32 video mode." Finally, I tried putting the two SilentPatch files into my main SA directory (I also tried putting them in my Cleo folder), but this didn't solve the problem either. Ash_735
Wait, have you installed the mod TO your San Andreas folder?? For VCS PC you were supposed to pick somewhere else to install the game.
DMC34
I did install it to a different location, yes.
Ash_735
In that case, you DO NOT use any SA specific tricks or mods, they'll conflict and cause crashes, for example, GInput, SilentPatch, that stuff is already included in some form tailored to VCS instead as Silent was working on this too. VCS also has it's own User Folder located in: Documents\GTA Vice City Stories User Files So you don't have to touch anything related to San Andreas. DMC34
I'm a bit confused about what I have to do, then. Do I need to do something special to my SA directory before installing the mod? I don't know if this is relevant or not, but there's nothing in the GTA Vice City Stories User Files folder save for two empty folders: Gallery and User Tracks. Ash_735
No, it just needs a clean in modded San Andreas to copy files from and then install them to a new location with the mod.

Try to right click on the exe and go to properties, then tick on the 'Run in 640x480 resolution' option. If the game starts then change the resolution to your liking.
