2017 Los Santos Marathon...anyone want to join?

Here's your chance to enjoy the island and its scenery....run around the island challenge!

 

 

Here are the rules:

 

-Must be on foot

 

-Run or Walk

 

-Start off at the Pier and the end is the last checkpoint.

 

 

I have tried this and it took me near 45 minutes but I was walking too because my finger thumb was hurting. Finished 3rd recently with 3 checkpoints. Post your times. I will try one last time and run the entire marathon.

 

If it's a little too hard or tiring for you then I may suggest the Tour of Los Santos, same checkpoints with a bike.

Nope, and would have to do it as a GTA Race to get out/off a vehicle/bike.

Anyways...to give a perspective on time...I had a few interruptions/accidents....lol....I sprinted for a good distance and then jogged and sprinted once I saw the 1st check point at Fort Z.

 

The time was 11m 57seconds....right before you get into the tunnel...when the road becomes black is the end of 1st leg.

Solution: do it in first person so when you're tired of tapping you're still running around.

As others said if you make this a GTA race I'll take part in it. Hell, if this was an actual private lobby I'd enjoy that more. X1 here, who else would be up for that?

Don't want to brag but I was in the Olympics. Granted, I was a lifeguard for the swimming division but it still counts!

If we all sprinted by holding X (or whatever your platform's sprint button is) then it would be a tie.

 

So tapping buttons is key here and another rule is that you must reach each checkpoint in order but the route is whatever you choose.

 

I tried making good lines as I would do in a race but NPC traffic will knock you down and will cause valuable time loss.

That's in 3rd person view. In 1st person holding x is sprint, no benefit from tapping.

Walk- moving direction pad

 

Jog- hold X

 

Sprint- tap X

I am up for this if it is done as a group event, pretty pointless doing it on your own.

 

I have walked across LS in the past, in free roam sessions is good fun as some people just kill you over and over but sometimes others follow and join in.

 

If it happens and I join I doubt I will be running though, marathons have reaped havoc with my hips, don't want my thumbs to go the same way from virtual marathons.

This seems interesting and I would be willing to take part if it were an actual event, like a car meet only we'd be showing off our newest trainers instead of our rims

 

A private session or even a GTA race as others have mentioned could do the trick, I may go and play around in the creator seeing as the current gameplay interests me very little. May I just say you've also given me the idea of trying out a triathlon which could be another event if people were interested.

Well, I'm on PC so I only have to press the shift key once and I'll be on jogging mode and holding it down will make me sprint.

 

So, I guess I'll be mostly jogging once I get to it.

 

EDIT: But if we'd do it as a group event, well... I guess that could work one way or another.
