I was expecting this, a plataform focused more in TV and media than games itself, there is nothing bad about those services, but the principal functions of a console are to play games, not TV

Now, if we talk about the desing, It´s not that bad, but the edges should have been more curvy, it looks like a VHS tbh, even that blury desing with small pics of the PS4 Sony showed yesterday, looks more promising in desing than the Xbox One

The name, doesn´t feel good to say, I mean, Infinity sounded better biggrin.gif, PS4 Isn´t something very original either, but after all, the name makes sence, since is the 4th PS console, can´t wait for E3 (It´s gonna be one of the best in years) I want to see new IPs for both consoles, and Im also excited to see the final desing of the PS4 and the Dualshock 4.

Do Microsoft knows that they were supposed to build a machine to play games? I mean, they're focusing on TV, movies, series, ordering a Pizza Hut pizza...

You must be stuck in 2005.

Here let me tell you how it is in the year 2013.

People don't want games games games anymore, they want apps, they want options. Microsoft has pulled all the wants and needs of the people into one device that the whole family can be apart of.

Perhaps if your a loner, a bit overweight who doesn't like to lift his arms any further than to take a swig of Mountain Dew then ya this console will not be for you.

So wait... instead of owning your mobile devices that already give you these options.. you want to pay 400+ for a console that has all of that!?

Amazing! sarcasm.gif

Apps are everywhere and not just on mobile devices anymore.

Welcome to the future.

The future is already here, it's cell phones.. tablets, consoles are for gaming.

Sure apps are everywhere but they're mostly used on these nowadays not consoles.

Call me crazy, but I don't want to watch movies on a f*cking four inch screen, or Skype in a four inch screen.

So let me get this straight, you have a mobile phone with apps.. and a 360 with more apps yet you still want to get a XboxOne for more apps that you already own and useless features instead of literally picking up your remote control?

Not the weirdest thing I've seen but go for it, from my point of view it looks useless

This console will be my excuse of getting FiOS, dat dual screen movie Skype. The only true downside I have seen is the used games, the no BC bummed me out a little but I knew there was 80% chance of it not having it.

Hard part this holiday will be explaining to the 9 and 13 yr old why we're not getting a new one this cycle. Especially after buying a fair amount of new 360 hardware this past year. I figure the last games I'll get personally are GTAV and SRIV. Prolly COD for the kids at some point. But thus far, I'm rather "meh" on both new consoles ATM.

I'm actually not against democracy though. I'm against things I think are f*cking stupid. I think this is f*cking stupid. - Sweets

Not interested in this expensive voice command remote control when I can get a proper gaming console for the same price.

which most need gold in order for you to recieve the right to use them. want to watch netflix on you 360? that would be at least a month of gold live to earn the right to pay for a month of netflix. yeah, no thank you. but people don't want games anymore do they? I guess this isn't the gtaforums anymore. oh wait, people still want games to be the focus? well, I guess all of us are:

Wait... You want apps and more apps to check stupid things that you don't even care about, you want an easier way to watch TV shows and movies and you want a lazier way to order a pizza and you're calling me a fat loner?

Videogames were invented to play games. I don't give two sh*ts about apps in a Xbox (and most of the people wouldn't give too if apps had never been introduced to the consoles). I want to turn my console on to play games.

All those games are making me buy this console.

I think I'll get both, the PS4 and the One.

Time to spew more hate. After hearing about this "Two People in room for movie rental with kinect" thingy I thought to myself "What a load of crap" and I was right. Who in their right mind would design a product like that? These days products and gadgets are supposed to be flexible as possible but locking out purchase of a movie or stopping it midway because someone walks into my Living Room and some Licensing BS says "Nope, you can't do that" is a total and utter farce.

Also, spouting off that people are "overweight" just because gamers like myself just want a console that plays games and can go online with a marketplace included is utterly stupid. Almost nobody wants all this other crap that Microsoft are throwing into their console and charging for it. For me personally, almost half of these new "Entertainment" features will not work in the UK. I'm glad Sony are not doing this with the PS4. Sure they maybe doing the Social Networking but I can just not log in with my Facebook or Twitter, easy as that.

I used to be a Sony fan myself, but then I got a Xbox 360 back in 2009 and loved it because it was cheaper and had everything I wanted. Now, with all these stupid "Entertainment" updates and content, I have changed my view completely of Microsoft and the Xbox franchise itself.

Jesus christ, see you at E3. This topic is filled with crybabies and complainers.

No, it's filled with people who have some semblance of commonsense and would like to play videogames on their videogame console, all Microsoft have done is advertise a large more brickish phone and that's about it.

When I turn on my console I want to play a game, I don't want to order pizza or watch TV and you know why? Because I have in my possession both a television and a phone, I don't need a videogame console to do that for me. Quite simply in terms of both hardware and game quality the PlayStation 4 looks to be superior, as a result people have a right to be disappointed with what they've seen today.

Now quit moaning and either contribute to the discussion and tell us why the console's so good, or instead of that stop spouting illogical fallacies like so many others here and remove yourself from the conversation. You see at the end of the day it all seems to boil down to this in so many people's minds:

"You've found flaws with the new console and you want to voice your displeasure/concern about such features being included/removed/not added. You're obviously a troll and a cry baby and you should leave the discussion now as all we want to do is blindly praise it and accept whatever crap [iNSERT COMPANY HERE] decides to shovel into our mouths"

No, that shouldn't be the case in the slightest. We want to have a discussion about the console and to have a discussion that is both interesting and engaging there has to be something to talk about and this event for the most part is a gigantic pile of old rubbish that needn't of happened. Since it did however, we as consumers have the right to voice our concerns and criticisms and if you don't like it you'll just have to deal with it.

Lol, I thought consoles were made to play video games, not all these useless apps that teach you how to sh*t in the toilet (even better with kinect). I mean they barely showed off any games at the convention

It doesn't even matter if it has the best video games ever. That think isn't going into my home. If you can turn it on with a voice command that means the Kinect is always on. It's always watching and listening. First of all, it's illegal in most, if not all European countries. It breaks countless privacy laws. But what about the US? Considering the state of that f*cked up place these days, what's stopping Microsoft from storing a sample of your voice and an image of you and your friends and giving it to the authorities or corporations that suspect that you're doing something they don't like? What are you gonna do if they decide to do that? Sue them? Do you honestly think you'd win? The f*ckin' thing sounds like something out of George Orwell's 1984. Why the f*ck would you want something like that in your own home? Mandatory Kinect isn't a feature, it's a limitation. It's there to help the corporations feed you advertizements. You're paying them so that they could have advertizements shoved in your face. It's not a consumer friendly device. And it's a big f*ckin' deal if you consider what else it could be used for.

But what if you want to bring a game disc to a friend's house and play there? You'll have to pay a fee—and not just some sort of activation fee, but the actual price of that game—in order to use a game's code on a friend's account. Think of it like a new game, Harrison says.

Well, sh*t just got real.

Phil Harrison:

Here's how the system works: when you buy an Xbox One game, you'll get a unique code that you enter when you install that game. You'll have to connect to the Internet in order to authorize that code, and the code can only be used once. Once you use it, that game will then be linked to your Xbox Live account. "It sits on your harddrive and you have permission to play that game as long as you’d like," Harrison said.

Oh and remember this article from 2010: http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/15/microso...t-might-tailor/

That's what you can expect from this piece of crap. Like I said before, it's a device designed to feed you with advertizements and squeeze every dollar out of you even though it doesn't do anything special that other countless devices aren't capable of without having to resort to invading your privacy and bleeding you for more money all the time. It's a corporate tool cleverly disguised as an entertainment system. Well, not really clever. I mean, if you buy this thing despite knowing what you're getting into, you're simply retarded.
