sh*t, it sounds like Microsoft want to invade are privacy. This doesn't seem like a new games console. This camera thing is getting kind of creepy.

you bought a movie to watch with your friends and it shuts down saying "your friends did not pay for this content".

And did not they show that the new Kinetic camera is full HD?

That should be far enough to make sure that your console know that it is YOU who is playing, instead of your girl/boyfriend .. or neighbour .. or brother/sister.

This all sounds like the birth of Skynet. I don't feel comfortable with Microsoft's increasingly aggressive privacy invasion potential. I'm weary about getting this new gen system...

Plus consoles are a dying system, nowadays it's all about tablet and phone games, console gaming is being beat out by this.

Call of Duty: Ghosts - the only game where you can now have 12 years shout obscenities and claim they screwed my Mother in FULL HD-GRAPHICS WITH FISH THAT MOVE OUT OF THE WAY AND HANDS THAT HAVE CUTS ON THEM. 

 

I think I'll stick to ARMA 3.

Seriously this alone would prevent me from getting an Xbox One (if I was ever going to in the first place) ever. Its called the Xbox One but it comes with TWO boxes. What the actual hell? Where the hell am I supposed to put that? Balance it on top of the TV which is a flatscreen btw.

 

Also I just found out that Microsoft can track your face via Kinect and use it as DRM tactic? How sneaky not to mention slightly creepy. No doubt someone will eventually hack into peoples systems and view them secretly. I don't want to play on my console knowing Microsoft are watching my dance moves. No one gets to see me dance around like a douchebag to Beat It except me.

I currently own both the Xbox 360 and PS3, and I've loved them both as equally as each other. Both great machines for their time. I'm only planning on buying one of the next gen consoles for the time being, and wasn't going to make up my mind until I got all the facts and specs.

 

But I don't give a sh*t about that anymore. This 'fee paying to play used games' bullsh*t has sold me my decision. The PS4 will be my next console. I didn't mind paying for Xbox Live, as it wasn't anything ridiculously over-priced, but this is taking the absolute piss. My previous split loyalty for the two companies has been completely replaced with a huge switch in respect towards Sony.

I Feel the exact same way. I have both systems as well. For the last 3 years I havent bought Live because its such a rip off, I dont play much of online anyways (although they fact that im paying for it could actually be the cause of that). It pisses me off how much content is required to have Live. EX: If you want to use Netflix on your 360 your basically buying the monthly subscription twice! and while you can browse their content for sale online, you need Live to browse the internt! Completely Ridiculous. Im stuck buying Live for GTA V for online because I prefer my achievements on 360 and i've have played IV on it enough to prefer the controls then to PS3 but never again.

 

The fact they they want to limit the sales of Used games sucks, and to charge for a fee is completely bullsh*t. I decided early on that i was going to purchase only a PS4 this generation. I saw how incredibly well they have made Playstation Plus in the last few years, and would make anyone who has Live pissed at how much Playstation Plus is going in the right direction. As a gamer i am completely scared of Microsoft now because they are just getting away with so much bullsh*t because people are willing to pay for these things. Their Live sales help them not only buy their way into timed exclusive content but also take away from other platforms. And Sony cant match what they are offering because of it, even with their Playstation Plus revenue. GTA EFLC was a huge example of this. I bought them day one for 360 but I couldn't imagine how much that sucked to PS3 owners.

 

From the conference alone we can see that we are not being sold a gaming console anymore, but a BIG FAT SUBSCRIPTION to all the entertainment services that Microsoft want to profit on, and hopefully build up. And thats great for them, but I just want a gaming console. I dont want to have my console to have an expensive price tag because it is packaged with a Kinect system that i really do not want to use. And thats the only innovation that they are trying to sell us on, that we can do more with our gaming console rather then do more with gaming itself.

 

on a side note: Seeing the One controller made me actually LOVE the PS4 controller. I loved the 360 controller design and i have no idea why they would change it around so much if there is little to none additions. Having a touch screen to swipe through my content is way better then having to use my hands, and having a speaker on the controller is something that i cant believe that microsoft ignored.

I'm going to have to agree with a few others as well. As an owner of both the Xbox 360 and PS3, I can surely agree that the PS4 will be a probable definite buy for myself. Microsoft completely shot themselves in the foot in taking pride on "Entertainment" instead of games and having all these different problems regarding the new Xbox.

 

I've had a grand old time on the PS3 recently than the Xbox 360. I can purchase things in the PSN store with the exact amount of money needed and their constant number of sales keeps pulling me back in to purchase more games. Although their questionable prices on downloadable titles some costing up to £59.99, I can always rely on Sony with their system. They always inform their customers of down time and I've had a smooth experience playing on PSN so far. Also, I might invest in PlayStation Plus, who wouldn't considering you get free games for only small fee and have cloud storage for saves so if your PS3 conks out then you can resume your save from when you turned the system off.

 

All I've had with the Xbox 360 was screaming children, paying £40 a year for intrusive adverts, having to purchase more MSP than what I require, too much focus on Netflix and ESPN and the list goes on and on.

 

For me, what made me like the Sony Presentation was their focus on games, something Microsoft almost never did throughout the Xbox One's reveal. They talked about new games and even showed some off such as Watch Dogs.

So they are trying to pan tent technology that will ensure that the products arent being used more than what the license allows. That article said that technically if you renting a movie or something it could be possible to not allow you to watch it with more than two other people.
