I'm thinking about getting it. Only if it's like they say, where it's less of a next gen console and more of an upgraded Xbox One, as in the games will be 100% BC and capable of playing better games.

I think that's what it pretty much is. It will even play the 360 games that are BC too and improve the performance of the current Xbox One games. I'm definitely going to get it and I think I'll start saving now. I wish I could upgrade my TV too to avail of the full potential of 4K gaming.

 

I kind of like the idea of letting my Xbox One go in the height of it's potential. I still don't think I'm out of the honeymoon phase of Xbox One. I'm still impressed by my console all the time.

I'm so f*cking hyped for Scorpio the closer E3 gets. Anyone else? I feel as if I really underestimated how good this console could be when they first announced it.

Beam is now called Mixer. And basically everyone (including me) agree that Beam was a much better name than Mixer is.

Microsoft couldn't market the Beam name worldwide because of name copyrights and such. So the name change had to be done for worldwide release. Not that big of a deal really.

Are people accepting and using Beam/Mixer? It just seems like such a gamble for someone to enter the game streaming services a bit late.

I was just wondering has anyone played D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die? I was browsing the deals section the other day and saw it's 75% off and only $4.99. I dug around a bit and was surprised to find out it came out in 2014 as I've never heard of it before. Watched the trailer and it has that art style like the Telltale Games like A Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead etc.

 

I believe it's made by the same developers who made Deadly Premonition.

You might want to hold off on that. If you can afford it, there will be 4K monitors that have FreeSync and HDR support by next year. Better colors and smoother performance are pretty important. Most TVs are garbage in terms of input lag and there won't be any TVs with FreeSync.

I have it because it was a GWG freebie back whenever. Isn't it a full on kinect game?

Yeah it's a Kinect Game and an underrated one at that. It is compatible with a control, but compared to using the Kinect it's underwhelming in my opinion.

MS has made it clear there won't be Scorpio exclusives. Would split the fan base in half.

Oh, I didn't know this. I was hoping for some new IP's and would have been a nice "gift" to loyal customers.

You misunderstood his post. By exclusives he meant that there won't be any Scorpio only titles. This was the original statement from Spencer, but recently I think they said that developers are kinda free to release games on the Scorpio only if the Xbox One is too weak in comparison at that point. This refers to third party games only but who knows, maybe Xbox exclusives will shift permanently to Scorpio at some point.

 

If you are curious about Xbox exclusives, as in Xbox One and Scorpio games, then yeah, there will probably be some at E3. I wouldn't be surprised if Forza Motorsport 7 got announced. Other than that I have no idea.

Ah, OK. Makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

 

Yeah I thought that would be a given. Also I read that there will be no requirement for FPS on Microsoft's side for developers when it comes to cross-platform multiplayer. It's down to the developer what they choose to do. For example, Microsoft wont restrict Scorpio potential in MP so as to not have an advantage over Xbox One users. Will this mean we can have Xbox One only lobbies or is that splitting the fanbase again?

 

The reason I mention this is that I never expected or thought there would be Scorpio exclusives but if current games on the One perform better on Scorpio, I don't see why that can't be emulated again. For example, a Scorpio owner and a Xbox One owner buy the same disc. Except on one console (Scorpio), the install unlocks full potential and on XB1, it runs on as much as it can but not as much as Scorpio.

 

Yeah, looking forward to seeing F7 if it's shown. Maybe Horizon 4. Horizon 3 didn't look too appealing to me. Would love some new IP. Something mature.

I think the game discs will be the same. There won't be Scorpio game discs or anything like that. The extras for the Scorpio could be delivered in a patch that you download when you install the game. I think that this is the way it's handled on the PS4 and PS4 Pro.

 

I don't think the multiplayer will be split. Even if the Xbox One can do 60 FPS in these games Scorpio may in fact run fully unlocked given that it comes with FreeSync support. It's not very likely but developers do have full control over the features of the console.

According to Wikipedia AC3 became backward compatible in May 23. I might have bought it if I had seen it before, but fortunately I didn't. I didn't see the video until now, but it's nice to be able to play it for free rather than pay for it. It's the only last gen AC that I don't already own on XBOX. So, thanks!
