I wish they had option to change how to activate voice commands. "Xbox [...]" was faster, since "Hey Cortana [...]" has too many syllables. lol

Also, they're removing snap mode... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-is-removing-xbox-one-snap-mode-and-heres/1100-6447261/

Yeah I read they were removing snap mode. So, using Cortana and I have YouTube open, I ask Cortana to search something, it searches Bing, so It will default open Microsoft Edge or Explorer?

I never used snap and so wont miss it and if it makes the dashboard UI runs smoother or whatever, I'm happy.

@LittleBlueTroll: Same here. I might play around with it again and see if I can find anything of use with it for my laptop.

Hopefully it's more like the 360, viewing your friends list, recent players, viewing profiles and such were much quicker imo.

Cameron, I think you are mixing up Snap with the left menu/info. That is remaining. Snap was that near useless feature where you could 'snap' applications to the right side of your screen.

I'm glad they're doing away with Snap. Other than having TV on the side, there was very little use for it after the last major update. Maybe it'll make accessing the Game DVR quick again... it got annoying having to go through Snap just to access the DVR app.

All l really want from this update is to fine-tune the volume for background music like I could on the 360. I don't like how it currently does a steep jump between volumes; depending on the song, my music is either too loud or too quiet. I notice the the difference the most in GTA when I go from driving a Sultan to flying a jet, but it also notice it in other games. Sounds like something that doesn't matter, but it would be nice just so I don't have to adjust the volume every time a new song plays.

E: Grammar issues.

I think the only time I used snap was for achievements...and that was just to test it out since I'm not an achievement hunter.

Anyone get the new preview dash/update yet? Still waiting on mine. Dag nab it.

Am I the only one here that found Snap to be useful? I used it to watch YouTube videos and listen to music. Now I'll have to use my phone to do those things again. Ugh.

Think I'm getting my preview update tomorrow. I got a message from Xbox live that says if I don't want it that I should opt out by tomorrow. Pretty funny, I have been waiting for the death of double tapping the guide button just about forever until I got one of the new controllers. I guess for some reason mine was just always unresponsive Still looking forward to it, though, the side dash looks very nice.

Also, I don't think the Snap feature is really going away. I think it's just being replaced by something called Pip.

although, that is just what I heard and I could be wrong as I haven't looked too much into it.

Hopefully it right because I liked using it for Youtube and the WWE app as well.

Good luck. I got a similar message on Jan 20th...and it even says I should be one of the early ones.

Grrrrr...I want my update.

How does EA Access work? Can you buy games outright or can you only play them for as long as you are subscribed? I had a look at the app and the website but you can't even look at anything if you aren't subscribed which is stupid. I have the Mass Effect games on disc, but I heard that you can get them digitally on xbox through EA Access and was just wondering.

Pay to play, you don't own them. Kind of like Games with Gold.

40 games to play atm.

Yay! Finally got my update. The delay was because I have 2 xones in the preview program. I had to put my main xone into the alpha program. Neat.

E:

Snap is gone.

Not a big fan of how the left side is organized.

And you all should download it, and then buy the rest of the episodes cause they're very good.

Does this happen to anyone else when they're downloading an update for one of their games? I was downloading an update for The Witcher 3 and it was at about 40% when all of a sudden the update was finished and disappeared. This has happened many times in the past. While other times, the update goes all the way to 100% like it should with no issues.

On one side, this is good because I can get to my games faster. But, on the other side, I start to worry that the update didn't download properly or something went wrong in the downloading process and now I don't have the entire update downloaded for my game.

I literally went "WHAAAT?!" when I saw this on my news feed. And immediately forgot whatever I was about to do and proceeded to stick my GTA IV disc into my XB1 to start the install. Finally.

Is there a version of GTA IV that has ALL DLC attached to it? If so, I'll pick that up if it's not too expensive. I never got around to playing GTA IV. I'm reading comments where people are saying GTA IV was the worst GTA game, so I'm a little worried.

It wasn't too bad tbh. I'd say it's definitely down there in terms of the GTAs, but compared to other game it's still pretty decent.

As for DLC and the game, yeah, the complete edition.

IMO, it's far from the worst, I actually found it quite enjoyable. In terms of city and the story, it's a really good game.

As far as free roam shenanigans go, there's limitations in that regard. What I mean by that is that you shouldn't expect to do the same things you're accustom to in other GTA games: money has almost no use outside of immersion (buying food, toll fees, etc.) or buying ammo, and the vehicle selection is rather basic in the base game. Long story short, don't expect this game to have the options of San Andreas or V.

This is a fair assessment.

Think of IV more like Mafia 1 or 2. The city is great but free-roam variety is lacking. Coming from San Andreas that was a bit of a downer. But I now see IV as a remade III or a HD version of III and it makes it better. I try not to see it as the game after SA as although it does things better than SA (which should be a given) it's regressive it terms of size, variety and things to do outside the story.

So you can at least enjoy the story and the city is wonderful as are crash physics, music and driving.

Installing now.. 94% :D

Anyone else get a digital copy of GTAIV for free?

I went to it on the store, and it just had the "install" option, so claimed it for free, a digital copy. I've never owned it digital, actually still got my physical copy with me in my CD case. I ain't complaining, trust me, haha I love digital games these days, so I'm delighted, very delighted. So glad they finally made it backwards compatible. With access to Red Dead, this, and Bully: Scholarship Edition, Xbox One has blown my expectations out of the water, so glad I got one.

But still...whoohoo!!!

E:

Ee:

Rebooted. All is well. Installing from disc now. Sweeeeeeet

Eee:

Perfect timing, I've just finished the ME trilogy playthrough. But on the other hand, Sleeping Dogs will continue to gather the proverbial dust...

I might even watch The Dark Knight on the weekend to go full 2008 nostalgia.

To anyone who's never played GTA IV, I'd say it's well worth giving a shot. Just keep in mind the following:

1: The tone is more serious than the other games, but still has its share of hilarious moments.

2: Gameplay and mechanics are a bit more down to earth. Driving can take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's some of the most fun I've had driving in the series.

3: If friends calling to hang out annoys you, you can just put your cell on sleep mode and freeroam at your leisure.

4: Graphics also take some getting used to; the complaints that it's "too grey" have merit, as the game does get this Gears of War filter over it on cloudy days. But it's not like that all the time; it's downright colorful on sunny days, and you can tweak the saturation to your liking. And personally, I like the filter. Gives it kind of a film noir vibe IMO. And it does look a little blurry at times (mainly IV and TLAD), but give it some time, your eyes will get used to it.

5: If you feel there's too little to do outside of missions, call up like Little Jacob, Roman or Brucie and do their Jobs. They give you really fun side missions like drug deals and car thefts. Also steal a police cruiser and do the Vigilante and Most Wanted missions, they're really cool. Some of my favorite shootouts in the game come from these side missions.

With all that in mind, I highly recommend checking it out. Best game in the series, IMO.

EDIT - I just popped it in and am trying it out. Maybe it's just my eyes (it's been a while since I've played IV), but it looks a little sharper and cleaner than I remember it looking on the 360. And if the first loading screen was any indication, they're much shorter on the XB1. Seems to have gotten the RDR treatment where it runs a little better on the new hardware. Again, maybe it's just my eyes. Either way, I'm so happy to be able to go back to Liberty City on my XB1.
