Double post, but I can confirm this works. It's designed specifically to work with the Xbox controller.

I seen that there was an emulator in for approval, its too bad it wasn't approved. But I understand why, it would probably lead to legal trouble with Nintendo. They're on top of shutting sh*t down lately.

Homemade Dynamite

I figured this would be the safest place to ask this without risking a flame war (considered PS4 and Fallout 4 topics, but I felt it may have been too risky).

Why do you guys think Sony refuses to allow console mods on PS4? I own both consoles, but I'm glad I chose to get it on XB1 (because there was already the promise that it would get mods early). Still, I can't help but feel a little disappointed with Sony. It seems like they're trying to coast on their own name to get by, kinda like Nintendo. They've allowed their early-lead dominance and reputation go to their heads. Meanwhile, Microsoft has done a lot to improve their console and fix their once-tainted reputation, and during that same time Sony has done nothing. Unless you count them jacking up the price for PS Plus, there's that.

Coming from a company that claimed to be "for the players" as their slogan, I find this kind of ironic and sad. I just wonder what will happen if more games start having console mods, will they continue to refuse mods? It won't look very good, if the XB1 is getting all of these games with console mods while PS4 gets nothing. Assuming the rumored Fallout: New Orleans is real, there's no way they're going to say yes to mods from Obsidian, if they refused Bethesda.

One thing has been made for sure to me. I'll be getting the XB1 Scorpio when it drops next year, but I'm unlikely to get the PS4 Pro. I don't see any reason to do so at this point.

Lately? Nintendo has pretty much always been pissy about stuff like this. Probably down to the fact that Nintendo is living off old titles, and not really doing much in the way of innovating... Hell... You're lucky if you get something more than a reskin with a few tweaks...

10 guesses as to who has a bit of a thing against Nintendo.

I'd wager that Bethesda was asking sony to make the processing software, and Sony had no intention of doing it for the sake of a few games. That or the processing software compromised the anti-piracy sound format. I say anti-piracy because, well... Why else would you use a proprietary sound format?

Regardless of what the situation really is, I think Sony knows a move like this will hurt them, but generally, these big companies have a reason for some of the dumb stuff they do.

Japanese companies are all about loyalty, social hierarchy, and risk aversion. They tend to steer clear of anything that might disrupt their current or past successes, and when they do fail, they don't go out quietly.

For those of us who understand Japanese business culture, it's easy to see why fledgling companies like Sony and Nintendo have been gripping tight to every last bit of success in order to maintain revenues and prevent obsolesce. My guess? Mods introduce a lot of unknown variables, and given that Sony is not necessarily a software company, they probably fear having to pour tons resources and time into vetting mods; then they have to consider fixing them if they prove damaging. McSame, maybe it's that? This goes back to security issues. It's risky.

I want to say, "We should've saw this coming," but I've pretty much given Sony the benefit of the doubt over the last two years. So rather, I'm saying, "They are who we thought they were."

Stikbold: A Dodgeball Story is on sale for $5 for Gold Members and can't recommend it enough. It's incredibly fun and the only downside to it is that there's no online multiplayer so you have to settle for bots unless you have someone you can play locally with. Thankfully though the bots are competent enough to have fun with as well, so it's not like you're facing off against braindead AI. The story mode is pretty damn fun and hilarious too, just got past the first boss battle and I loved it.

So is their no way to play music from a media server while in the background? I use the media player but as soon as I launch a game my music stops. Bummer if there isn't a way, Microsoft really needs to get their stuff together regarding background music.

No media player for background music yet. I hope it happens but I'm not even sure if there is talk of media player supporting background music.

The closest thing would be to use groove with your mp3s sitting on onedrive.

Nobody's mentioned it so I guess I will in case some people don't know.

Splosion Man is currently free, and it's a BC title. :)

Liked Groove up until every time it was updated on my phone all my local music needed to be redownloaded. Cancelled my subscription and went back to Pandora for the Ones background music and Spotify for my phone.

My Xbox keeps signing me out. No explanation, just logs me off. I thought it was a network issue, but when it happens I'm still connected to Xbox live. If it keeps happening, sh*t's gonna go down.

What does it say at the bottom of the screen when it does it? Does it say "Bye, Darthyenik" or something like that?

Was doing that to me when my router was acting up a few weeks ago. It would still show I'm connected to the wifi under network settings but just like on my laptop or phone nothing would load.

It's most likely my network. I've also got a wifi extender that's been acting up.

Try the old hard wired trick if you can. The wireless AccessPoint near my xbox is flaky and switching to a wired connection made all my troubles go away.

Just wondering guys, is there any interest in Scalebound here? I made a thread for it when it was announced and no one ever posted.

I'm a huge platinum games fan so I'm surely going to be interested. Although, since the release, is a bit away. I don't think about it that much. Also, I wouldn't be sure if there would be a lot to talk about on the game at this point. Idk that's just me. I could be missing out on info.

Been following the creator of Nesbox. The fix for Gameboy and GB Advance games is on the way, as well save functionality.

Being planned to be released in 2-3 days

October free GWG is thoroughly disappointing. I was hoping we got Walking Dead season 2, as we got season 1 last October, if I'm remembering right.

I liked Walking Dead season 2.

Not sure how new this is but I like how Cortana now uses my name. I want to watch Idiocracy tonight and since the Bing feature seems to be gone I had to do the "hey Cortina watch idiocracy". She responded with "hey trip".

Is it just me or is everyone else going through controllers moreso than normal?

I'm on my 5th controller...and I'm not hard on controllers. I'm a gentle player. I don't rage, I don't thrown my controller around. Honest, I'm really soft on my controllers.

Each controller seems to get flaky with the thumb sticks. Left or right stick...they either fade up or fade down. I sense they need to make better thumb stick hardware.

I'm still on my first controller and I play lots of games, and I'm not always a gentle player.

I don't throw my controller or anything like that, but I might give it an angry squeeze now and then when I'm playing games like Overwatch.

Still on my first controller too. And I have thrown it before, but only once. It was when I was playing Arkham Knight, that damn Azrael side mission really tried my patience. lol

Anyway, despite that it still works perfectly. Def gonna keep my anger in check though, that was really dumb of me to do.

I'm on my second controller, but the only game that really gets to me is Rocket League, and I managed to somehow 'break' my controller a long while ago by squeezing it too hard  . The controller works, but has to be plugged in and charging or It won't work and the chat pad is a bit messed up. Lesson learned though :/.

Call of Duty 3 should be available in the backward compatibility:

https://majornelson.com/blog/xbox-one-backward-compatibility/

I hated this COD with a passion lol...

Timed respawns, vehicles, and a really bad engine. Still, nice to see that they've been slowly adding the older COD games.

Same.

Xbone's is okay for now, but the 360 suffered from the exact same issue. By the time I was done with the console, I had player characters literally walk in circles, as the left analog was permamently shifted to the left. Also, the battery case couldn't hold on anymore and I had to tape it to the controller.

I could have bought a new one, but with the other issues with the hardware I had and the next-gen on the horizon... it wasn't worth the expense.
