Anyone on the preview program having problems playing Twitch?

It acts like it's loading then it just goes back to the dashboard and nothing else.

Also, why no Xbox One S in black????

I couldn't get it to stay open, so I just used Youtube to stream E3.

Yeah...out of all the dash previews I'm gonna say this one is the most f*cked up one. I get all sorts of odd crashes and weird stuff in the store app. Cortana can just kiss my ass when it comes to being used to using to "xbox" commands. Blah blah blah

Yep. This is the upgraded model I was looking for. I will be getting one next year for GTA VI and the Forza games that are not\will not be on Windows 10.

I am not that hyped for Scorpio. Why would I need something that is mostly built to support 4K resolution when I don't have nor do I plan to get a TV that can display it?

I think there's a good reason to think that 4K won't be widely adopted for games given that developers tend to care more about graphics than resolution or frame rate. Generally speaking, graphics are always the main concern, then the frame rate, and dead last the resolution. You can infer all of that from the fact that some games are running on a resolution as low as 720p on the Xbox One and games that are pushing for 1080p 60 FPS are quite rare (there's the Forza games and some shooter games) and some of them fall short of the frame rate target.

I can't imagine most future games running on resolutions above 1080p or 1440p on the Scorpio. Maybe we'll see more 60 FPS games though and that's a good thing.

4K gaming will drive my decision to purchase a 4K television. At this time, I'm still mulling over purchasing a 1440p monitor for PC.

4k and VR is the future of gaming.

But 4k and VR isn't just for gaming either.

I wonder how much trade-in value ny current One will have towards a One S. Doesn't the One S have a 2TB HDD?

Nope. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/06/14/there-wouldnt-be-a-frame-rate-difference-between-xbox-one-and-scorpio-says-microsofts-shannon-lofits.aspx

I have to be honest, I don't really see the point in these upgrades if they're only shooting for higher resolutions without trying to improve the framerates. As someone that currently has the option of playing games at 4K, right now, it isn't that big of a deal to me. I'd rather stay on 1080p and get the highest possible framerate I can (to a certain extent, obviously). I understand that they want parity between the two, but when I've seen so many console gamers claim that framerate doesn't matter, I kind of want to see how they would react if they had the option of a higher framerate for a higher price. Would they still not matter at that point? Not to mention that if I was going to buy an Xbone myself, I would want one that does 1080p/60fps, not 4K/sub 30fps.

There's 3 versions. The $299 one is 500GB. Then there's a 1TB, and a special edition 2TB,but I don't know the prices on them.

I decided to create a custom controller too. Limited to colors, but still pretty cool.

Well here's to hoping that they aren't too expensive. My current oldie of 500GB has had no room for awhile, and I can't get an external as of right now. Edited by Maxxi

The point he was making was that frame rates in console games are typically either 30 or 60 based on what's needed for gameplay. From that point of view he's arguing that it wouldn't make sense to have a game run at different frame rates across systems. That doesn't even suggest that they will prohibit such a thing. There could be individual options for each system like with games like Hitman which offer an option to unlock the frame rate.

Edit: Looking at the author of the article, im gonna chalk this one up to complete stupidity. This mike futter guy is a joke, when he came into the gameinformer scene a couple of years back i quit reading their sh*t because he is quite frankly a f*cking idiot.

I assume they're going the route of PC's, meaning that every game will be compatible on different types of hardware.

GTA V not only works on the greatest and latest video card, but it also works on some of the sh*ttiest video cards imaginable. GTA V was an excellent example where PC optimization was done very well. So to think that there will only be two different versions for which to optimize, it's not that far of a stretch to imagine it will be that big of a deal. The perpetual increase in computing power is forcing developers to accept this as a nature of the beast.

Well yeah, thats what they are doing, thats been the thought since the rumors of scorpio came about. But again this is a poorly written article.

That's honestly not bad at all. I could trade it in my current console and pay the difference for a 1TB, or ask for help preordering the 2TB.

Yea, still baffles me why they didn't make it in black also. lol Everything my brother has is in black..

Either way, I'm probably keeping mine, since I won it and the artwork on it is like $250 from www.customware.com lol

Plus, I won a beta invite key to Warcraft's Legion and sold it for $165. So I just bought myself an external 4tb for $130 after taxes

Mine is just a standard 500GB from the old Assassin's Creed bundle. Maybe it'll just be better to upgrade to the One S simply due to the larger HDD, and have a better performing console overall (supposedly).

The better hardware doesn't improve gaming performances http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-one-ss-extra-power-does-not-improve-game-perf/1100-6440933/

It just allows developers to add HDR support.

Still worth it anyways, if you can get like $200 for the old version and fork over the other $200.

What I really want is Google fiber. 1000 Mb/s (125MB/s), so instead of taking 5.5hrs to download a 30GB game (13Mb/s 1.6MB/s) now, it would take 4-5 minutes. lol

Pretty sure.

4k isn't needed for it though, so it's a nice little perk for the slim X1.

It sh*ts on the current Xbox One and PS4.

One thing I hated about the Xbox One design is how boring it is, especially in black. Not only is it white (missed out on getting the Sunset Overdrive XB1 myself) but the size is so damn neat.
