I got the new dash update!!! Super cool. Haven't played around too much yet.

 

First thing I noticed was BC Fallout still is not available to play yet...waaa

Also, the Telltale BTTF game is being released Oct 10 on the xbox one. It shows up on the 'coming soon' node in the store.

If you get hung at 80, apparently you're supposed to unplug it. I just read it on the forums. It didn't pause for me at all during that process.

• • • A huge thank you to the community over the past 24hours as we encountered a system update error when the system upgrade hangs at 80%. Engineering has determined the problem from your experiences and a fix is underway. In the interim any user that encounters the system update hanging at 60-80% please do the following:

• • 1. • Pull physical power (yes, I really mean pull the cable).

• • 1. • Once the console is powered back on, it will appear to complete an update, then land on a System Update available screen.

• • 1. • Attempt to take the update again, if it hangs a hard reboot may be required again and try again. We have seen that 3 reboots can complete.

• • 1. • NOTE if you encounter an update error screen while downloading a system update and the console freezes, please wait 3 minutes before rebooting the console to ensure crash data is captured. Crash data is submitted automatically; no action required on your part.

The only thing I don't like is, everything is on the left but when you snap something to goes on the right. Either make it all on the left/right but not both.

So, I have my friends account as my home xbox. Yeah, we share games and for a few months I have been using his Xbox Live gold. Well, it won't let me play payday, or minecraft online now. However, I can play Neverwinter online, as well as sit in a party. IDK why.

 

I mean, yeah I expected bugs but perhaps I should have noticed how many there were before upgrading. A lot of issues I am having are not addressed anywhere and I don't want to report this because I am pretty sure you're not supposed to use the "my home xbox" feature this way. Perhaps my stingy ass should just buy some gold.

 

Edit: It won't let me join partys anymore. f*ck me, they broke gold sharing. WAHHHHH

Edit again: Now it works. I don't know what the heck is going on. Lmao

I'm surprised, I was only a level 1 yesterday when I got it. I guess they're just sending them out either randomly, or to people who applied first. Either way, Ybarra said their goal from this point on is to roll it out daily until everyone who wanted in gets in. So it shouldn't be too long.

 

Also, seems my gold sharing issue has worked itself out. For now, fingers crossed I don't have issues again. Minue some game menu hangs, it runs really fast and I love how quick it is to message and invite friends or even recent players.

I watched the '5 easy tricks to do on your controller' video, it showed the snapped apps appeared on the left (Achievement one). So which is it going to be? Snapped apps on the right, as it is for me now, or like the video and snap on the left?

 

They should just allow you which side you want

I'm having a blast playing Tomb Raider: Definative Edition. It fits me very well to say the least. I'm maybe half way through it now. I love how it lets you go back to areas to find things you couldn't find or wasn't able to get the first time around. The puzzles are great as well in the tombs and other areas. I would have paid for this game but Games with Gold made it free. I think it was a huge marketing decision when it came down to it. I'm preordering Rise of The Tomb Raider with season pass because I like T.R. Definative Edition so well. Marketing 101 at its finest.

As part of the last preview update (Which is the update that came out when we got the dashboard) snapped apps appear on the right as opposed to the left. But I agree, I'd prefer them on the left with the rest of the stuff.

 

It's also confusing to switch from a snap to the game. You have to go back to the dashboard then go to the left then press A again. It was much easier, albeit slower on the last dashboard, but it was easier.

I still use voice commands for nearly everything so I'm just kinda mad that I can't lurk at what my online friends are doing without having to grab the controller, hit some buttons, and do some scrolling. f*ckers!

 

They also scared me with not having all the DVR voice commands worked out. After the update I was unable to pause/resume live TV until today. "Xbox pause" is a popular phrase in this house.

 

This dashboard seems like a panicked solution to a dashboard that needed to be redesigned to be more controlercentric.

Can someone help me find my activity alerts? I have no idea how to do it on the new dashboard.

The little globe icon when you hit left from the home screen. It no longer holds onto alerts and it looks like they clear ever time you turn off the xbox.

 

I may be wrong - I just sat down at desktop, so I'm doing it from memory. I'll stream my ass to my dash now and confirm.

I know about the notification center. However, I don't get activity alerts there. Like, when someone likes a clip, or screenshot. Or when someone sends me a friend request.
