I would also like to know. The amount of non arcade games in the line up right now is really lacking. I was hoping we would get something added to the list when they said all the GwG titles would be backward compatible.

About 4 months late but Just got a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I tried to do the screen cast on it, but I can't get it to work to save my life! Has Anyone successfully connected to the Wireless Display app with an S6?

I think Activison saw that most of their COD titles were in the top 25 and decided it would be a better opportunity to cash in on them with a re-release. f*cking greedy scumbags, I swear, they're making EA look like angels these days.

I was going to mention this, but forgot.

There are many reasons why Activision might not want to ride the backwards compatibility train. Sadly though, Activision has turned very greedy. The whole Destiny thing comes to mind, plus all the stupid COD micro dlc.

Here's another thought for the day, instead of a chatpad, they should've made it a touch-screen with the Smart glass built right in. They could keep the volume controls and the other chat party buttons on the face of it, but just remove the buttons and put a touch screen there. I'd buy that for like $50 or whatever, instead of a chatpad that has no real use.

I appreciate it. I tried the 'quick connect' on the pull down settings of the phone and the xbox showed up, but it just wouldn't connect. There is probably just one thing I'm not doing to get it to work.

Anyone having problems sharing videos or screenshots? I went to xboxclips, its not working. Tried to share a screen shot from my console to onedrive, didn't work.

I've wanted to see how the cloud could effect games and now I can finally see with the release of Crackdown 3. I'm pretty hyped for Crackdown 3.

If you're Halo fan then its well worth the money. The bundle that really caught me eye was the Forza one. I mean a car engine sound that turns on when you turn on the console is really bad ass imo. Unfortunately I have to stay content with my white Sunset Overdrive console .

I prefer the Forza 6 console myself. The Halo one is far too similar to the COD: Advanced Warfare console for my tastes.

Microsoft appears to be doubling-down on its first-party titles while Sony is securing a lot of third-party deals. How difficult is it to be successful, in terms of market share, when Sony is gobbling up so many third-party deals now? How difficult does that make your job?

 

 

So, they don’t “gobble” the deals up. They buy them. You know, I read the same things you do, and I know some people think it’s somehow less expensive to sign third-party exclusives if you have a bigger market-share. I can tell you, it has nothing to do with market share.

 

When you go in to do a deal, with a third party, that third party has its own view of the global market and the value of it. And they should, they should think about their assets and how valuable they are, just like anyone would when they are selling their goods.

 

I ran first party before I took on the job as head of Xbox. And when I was picked to do this job, I think people would have expected that my focus would be on first party. My view is, there are some bellwether companies out there in terms of first-party games, like Nintendo, which has incredibly strong IP, and a breadth of characters and games to play, which allows them to do a great job in lighting up peoples’ interests.

I don't know if I want to believe Phil on this one. I understand that 3rd party deals are expensive but those Sony deals happen because of Sony's much larger install base. Who knows though maybe Phil is right.

Those Sony deals happen because Sony were willing to pay to make them happen.

 

The same is true of Microsoft when these deals happen.

 

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure install base matters to an extent but the gap isn't necessarily so large that it becomes an important factor.

I'm half and half. I do believe it has to do with install base. The market is what, 2:1 in favor of the PS4?

 

It'd sure as hell cost a bit more for MS to snag a deal from Sony.

 

I don't see it as a bad thing, half of the time the exclusive deals are bullsh*t things like 10 minute missions for the consumer. I'd rather have that money spent on developing some of the amazing IPs that MS have in their roster.

 

Bringing back Banjo and Conner would sh*t on anything Sony can come up with Little Big Planet in terms of platformer games

I'm sure once Windows 10 gets installed on the X1, it'll be different. Basically a PC in the living room

 

 

It's a pretty close battle in the US though, there's less than 750k consoles between the PS4 than Xbox Ones. Once the holiday season comes around, Backwards compatibility, WIN 10. Gonna change pretty quickly

Microsoft are workin' that pole at the moment like being able to afford their next meal depends on it.
