Yea, Ryse was fun for awhile, it's definitely worth a rental but not a buy at $35

If it helps, MS sent Ryse to me for free!

 

Still haven't finished the game and I'm only on the last mission.

What's the XB1 Preview program?

You preview updates ahead of there public release. You also get other special bonuses.

Preview users can now share screenshots via onedrive, twitter, and so forth.

Neat. It said I had the update applied but the option to share didn't show up u til I did a full reboot.

Ummmm, I remember it taking a day or so to receive the invite, and then a day or two to process the membership.

Ryse isn't bad. I mean getting the season pass with the game at $35 has to be the cheapest game I've bought for these new consoles other than small indie games. It does look really good. I'm just used to getting everything at release and paying full price for everything. Nice not having to for once and getting a season pass with it as well.

Probably nothing. It makes me wonder if the leveling system is good for anything other than keeping track of things.

Those who were in the preview program did get to play the Halo 5 beta one week early.

DirectX is a programming API. If a game isn't optimized for DX12, I would assume that the developers would need to go back and actually make use of it. But don't quote me on that, as I'm not entirely sure how it works.

 

Oh, not really a name change. It's just the initials I go by on some other parts of the internet like Twitter, chatrooms, my GTA license plates lol. X = Crossed, S = Sabres. :p

Sometimes yes and sometime no on the DX question. There may be new fuctions added to DX for developers to use and there may be some changes to the existing functions. Changes to the exisiting calls wouldn't need the developers to repackage with an update. I like to think that there will be enough changes to existing functions to help some things out.

Ok, that makes sense. An update to make a game perform better will be possible but not necessary. However, it's possible for DX12 to automatically enhance something like frame rates and such. Right?
