I think we'll see big changes when Windows 10 arrives. Until then it's pretty much deal with it, I like it for the most part even with its problems.

 

Nat22, you're right, and to think, I've been quite the pessimist when it comes to DX12 support on the Xbox One.

My Xbox One froze up again but I was able to select Power Off this time. Too bad it's not shutting off though, so going to have to pull the plug on it once more.

Doesn't even power off if you hold in the front button (for however long you need to hold in the front button for full cycyle shutdown)?

Yeah nothing worked, it was incredibly lame. I think the error was tied to me having to enter a passkey every time I log into my account. I set it that way because someone recently had tried to steal my Microsoft account, but now I have disabled the option so it might not occur again.

Ultra sucks having to enter a passkey when logging in. That would suck. I get cranky when the ki ect doesn't auto recognize me and log me in during "xbox on".

The passkey becomes muscle memory so it wasn't so bad, just stinks that it disables auto-sign in. Just don't want another person trying to steal my account. Thank god Microsoft has like 50,000 steps of verification and such, so he didn't manage to get through.

I have mine to automatically log in when it turns on, have you tried that?

Yeah, that's how it was, but when I started using the passkey it disables auto-sign in. I've returned to normal settings, along with auto sign in so everything is working fine so far. I do have a complaint about the Game DVR app though, recently it has not been recording any sound, so quite frustrating when I capture an awesome moment only for me to bin it later due to lack of audio.

As of now, I only want an XBOX One for Forza. But considering the fact that a new XBOX One is about $400, I'm not so sure anymore. Is it worth buying it for only one game series?

I think buying a console for one game is kinda silly but I am pretty sure if you look around you will find more games that will suit your interest.

Well, for March our free games will be Rayman: Legends and a thirty day extension on IDARB.

BI was a great game. Good story with just standard gameplay.

It's the opposite for me, I've been wanting to buy Tomb Raider for a long time since everyone rated it quite highly, I've already bought Bioshock Infinite and sold it. I'm glad I didn't buy Tomb Raider now.

Haven't played Rayman in years so I'm really hyped for that.

 

As for 360 those are definitely two good games worth picking up. although i already have them.

Tomb raider being free should help the online be lot more active. and hopefully the DLC for Bioshock will go on sale when its free. As I definitely want more from it.

Oh snap, didn't think about the online being more active. Time to hook up my 360 and f*ck some dudes up again when it comes out. Its pretty much an Uncharted ripoff when it comes to online, but since I did not own a PS3 it was very fun.

It then goes on to say that because of that the 360 will receive four new games yet the XB1 is going to get two.

It was more of a show pony for the Xbone when it came out, and it's gorgeous, I'll give you that. It runs at 900p and looks better than most games at 1080p. However, it gets boring pretty fast. I played about half-way into it before throwing in the towel.

 

Edit: Also in the news, Xbox LIVE is now $40 until further notice!

I enjoyed Ryse but I went into it with extremely low expectations. I was under the impression it was all QTE...and it wasn't. I enjoyed the combat mechanics and everything.

 

I say it is worth a go, but then again I'm pretty easy.

My thoughts on Ryse:

*It was and still is f*cking gorgeous. As CrossedSabres said, it was a show pony of sorts.

*Combat was absolutely tedious after a point. The few interesting mechanics, like Testudo, were few and far between.

*The story was bad. Like a cheap knock off of God of War in some respects. Certainly there was that inspiration there.

*Online component also sucked. Because tedious combat mechanics and so on.

 

Low expectations may help.
