People actually get swayed by lead platform nonsense in trailers?

People can argue its because Sony had the advertising rights................so...........spend the money to get the rights / my attention and beat out the other guys. It can make or brake weather I buy it for your system or not.

Doesn't work like that.

If Sony get the rights Microsoft can't just offer more money to make it go away. And when you consider MS had deals with Unity and CoD as well as two exclusive games to market you can see why GTA wouldn't. Plus I imagine Sony have some R* deal that gives them exclusive rights to GTA for a long time.

Call them and see if you can get a refund. It might take some finese to explain the situation but it could work. The same thing happened to me on PSN, when you buy a year of ps+ it puts you on auto renewal and I didn't know that until it took $50 out of my account back in December. I hadn't even signed into PSN for 9 months prior. So I called and told them I was not aware my account was on auto renewal and they refunded the $50, they said it could take up to 8 days to be deposited but it went in that same day.

I'm not too worried about a refund because I do need a renewal. I just wan't expecting it. I'm just glad the money was in my account so they could withdraw it.

I get it. All I'm saying is, whoever gives me the most info/stats/bonuses on a game before release and in a timely manner, will most likely be getting my bussiness.

In case you guys didn't know Sniper Elite 2 is free for XBOX Live Gold players right now.

Not for me.

Although it's apparently going to be free for games with gold next month.

meh, that controller update did f*ck all for my controller.

It's been broken for months now. When I hold the xbox button in to turn the controller on, it flashes once, flashes twice and then fades out like there's a battery problem, however I've tried everything. New rechargeables, the old rechargables and fresh disposable ones. I have to have it connected by a wire at all times. Occasionally, I'll take the wire out and the controller will power itself on, however it then says that the batteries are getting low and then it dies.

I did a search a few weeks back and found out it is actually possible to semi-brick the controllers by accidently removing them while they update. I can only assume I might have done that when I first got my xbox ¬¬

I remember seeing a documentary type thing from Xbox about how much research and testing they done on the new controllers. Really f*cking great work that. Course I'd buy another one but I'm a broke ass bitch. f*cking dicks.

I would try to re-sync the the controller first, especially from the updates. I would place it close to the X1, re-sync it, don't move the controller around at all while syncing. Its worth a shot.

Tried that. It syncs but then dies after about 30 secs/1 min. Just gonna have to accept that I need to buy a new one.

Is anybody else experiencing problems with Xbox Live? It keeps saying I'm connected, however it says that service information is unavailable and says that I am not via the dashboard. Confused to hell, y'all.

I was having a similar problem. Try this, it helped me. Got it from the Xbox live support page.

Power cycle your Xbox One console

A full power cycle reboots your Xbox One console fully. Doing this does not erase any of your games or data. Heres how:

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will power down.

Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Note If you dont see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Note If your console is in Instant-On power mode, the above steps will shut the console completely off. Instant-On mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying Xbox On, wont be enabled until you restart the console.

That also fixes any connection issues associated with GTA, but there's an easier way to do it. If you're super lazy, like me :), go to Settings > Power & Statup > Restart. This will perform a full hard reset without having to hold the power button.

Yeah, I'm a fan of them adding the full power cycle to the power settings menu.

I'm with Crossed Sabres on the laziness.

I'm jealous of Xbox owners right now. You guys get solid updates. Alls I get are f*cking stability updates. If Sony wanted stability then they should've added more rubber legs under the console.

Microsoft are ripping it up and showing that they're a software company.

Look, both systems have their pros and cons, and I will criticize both.

Speaking of which, PSN has been down all day, but at least I expect that from Sony. Therefore, I won't really gripe about it. However, when Sony doesn't add USB 3.0 support or an extra USB port in the rear of the console, I will gripe about it, because I expect Sony, as a hardware manufacturer, to be on top of stuff like that.

So when I gripe about Xbox One, just know it's because I hold Microsoft to certain standards, just as I hold Sony to certain standards.

Meh, at least I have games that run at full 1080.

Such a lame excuse to use now. lol

Especially since Microsoft updated the development kit to give developers better control over the console's memory. IE - Dying light just came out and they both run 1080p/30fps on both systems.

If they allow computer gaming to stream to the Xbox One, game over. That would end the Steam box and any other gaming system out there like it.

Speaking of Dying light, how is it compared to DR3?

Dying light is way more serious and far less goofy than DR3. Less cartoony, more real like. Not as swarm like when it comes to the zombies.

I only have a couple of hours in though.

Fun game. Makes me feel like I'm part of a zombie apocalypse.

PoeticWhisper

I bought Life is Strange today. I REALLY enjoyed it. Really, it's such a cool game. If you like Tell-Tale games you'll love this one. I promise you. I left a spoiler-less review on another page if you really want an in-depth review.

Life is Strange episode one. I seen Troy talking about it not to long ago, and I was pretty interested, so he asked me about it today and I tried it out. I downloaded the trial, I liked it. So I bought the $20 version (which is all 5 episodes when they come out) and man, It was DAMN GOOD. Like, it's a unique concept, a game that plays pretty similar to Tell Tale games in a way that what you choose to do, and not do depends on you, and they will affect the story. You play a 18 year old girl named Max, who has returned to Arcadia, Oregon after living in Seattle for a few years. She is taking a class on Photography and is quite gifted. She finds out she can "rewind time" in a very intense situation I will not spoil for you. Either way, she can now rewind time which gives you chances to fix your mistakes or fix something from happening you don't want. It does a very good job of creating unique situations in which you may need to reverse time. Lots of choices come into play and will be pretty heavy on your morale, it is up to you the player to decide if you've got it right, or if you want to go back and try it a different way. I found myself trying almost all applicable choices just to see the outcome, even if I got the outcome I liked the first time I did it.

On top of all the unique and interesting game mechanics, you're also introduced to very "cool" characters. I say that because Max, and her friend Chloe are easily come of the most mellow, easy to relate to characters in any game I've ever played. They are so right for each other that you feel it almost instantly. Max is really shy and into her photography, her dorm room is one of the coolest pads I've ever seen, and she seems to be a real person and not just a main character for no reason. Same goes for Chloe, everyone in this game seems to be different and not just a drone just there for the hell of it.

In terms of graphics, no this game isn't pushing Current gen or Last gen hardware to the limit, but it doesn't have to. Like Tell Tale games, it creates an art form to use rather than creating the most pretty games ever. Which works very well. It's not always about how detailed a game is, but how a game presents itself and for the way the narrative goes, the graphics compliment every little detail the game puts out. It fits if you will. Just like it does in Telltale games. Best way I can describe it is like playing in a world painted out in oil pastels.

Music, is top notch. Some may not like it but it's so calm and mellow, unique and different just like the main characters. Hipster is the best way I can describe it to you, but of course, who likes labels right? It's good music, and like the graphics and the characters, it fits perfectly.

All and all, I want episode 2 right now, but I have to wait until March, it's gonna suck to wait but it's worth every Day, Hour, Minute and Second it takes. I just want to continue the story of Max and Chloe right now, I guarantee this wait will feel like no-time. Definitely worth a try, you can download a demo for free. Try it. TRY IT NOW.

You can download a free trial, which lets you play a good bit of it. I'd really suggest trying it out.

I had a little go of the trial and I liked it enough but with Telltale having GoT and Borderlands stuff on its way I can't justify buying it. Maybe when the full thing is released/it goes on sale at a good price.

If GTA 5, the first Rockstar title, is 1080p/30fps on the Xbox One, this means that their future titles will be as well? I'm planning to purchase either a Xbox One or a PS4, but the Xbox One seems better to me because of the better online services.

I don't think anyone knows how Rockstar's next game(s) will be running in terms of resolution and frame rate. I would of course personally assume that they would get better over time.

If it's not full 1920x1080 then it will probably be 1360x1080 like CoD with it dynamically changing to full 1080p when possible. Or 1440x1080 like Far Cry 4.

Honestly, both online services are wonky right now, but neither is terrible. I would have a look at the exclusives and the controllers and decide from there. Edited by FRAIZER
