I noticed the same thing in Forza Horizon 2 over the weekend. I finally got to try out Storm Island. Atleast 3-4 clips auto recorded in one race from "Hang Time". Glad I got a 4 TB HDD to save all the clips I never even wanted. I'll have to turn that off eventually if I can ever remember.

I'm going to purchase a Xbox One for play GTA 5 in first person and exclusives like Forza Motorsport 6 and Quantum Break. How is your experience with it? If you have it :D

Like I've said in the past, I have both consoles and I prefer my Xbox One. I could write paragraphs as to why I feel this way, so I'll spare you the TL;DR and keep it at that... lol

Just one thing you need to know about GTA V on XB1. As of right now or at least until Rockstar fixes it in the next patch, the cache system on Xbox One will cause an issue with your ability to play GTA Online. Either you need to set the console to "Energy saving mode", or perform a hard reset every time you want to play GTA V. There's a problem with putting the console in stand-by mode at the moment wherein GTA Online will throw you into empty public lobbies if the cache isn't cleared. Performing a hard reset or full shut down is the only way to clear system cache at the moment. Rockstar is aware of the issue, so I'm really hoping it will be addressed in the next patch.

Really? No wonder I can't find anyone online. So are there actually populated GTA online servers for Xbox one? It's not a myth?

There are. For me, after about 30-40 minutes the game gets really laggy and starts kicking half of the players in the game, then I get a message saying I lost connection to XBL.

It automatically deletes unsaved clips after so many or so much time. My theory on that is that it keeps 60 minutes of unsaved clips and I think that because I always have between 110-150 clips in my library At a time and I always use the 'Record that' feature and then a few that are automatically recorded that are only 10 or so seconds long.

No matter how though it doesn't take up that much room on the hard drive, especially since they are only 720p 30fps no matter what you're playing.

There is a Firmware update for Controllers for the people in the preview program.

Yay!!!

Does that firmware update address the issue of controllers losing connection? Sure I could look it up myself and all but... Heck, I haven't even looked up if the disconnecting controller is a common issue or just me.

Cool on the connection stability. Snow day here for me today so I decided to update the controller and test it out. Fired up V Online and next thing ya know I'm racing FRAIZER. hahahaha

I never had an issue with the X1 controller with dropping connection at all. The Xbox 360 controller was a different story, didn't happen often though. I will have to say though, my X1 controller lasts 4 times as long as my PS4 controller and it aint even close. Liking the battery life for sure this time around.

Nice full racing lobbies. That was fun although I was third every time! That guy that kept winning though... He was good, and he was actually a clean racer.

So idarb is February's GWG on Xbox one. I would rather have a free movie than the indie sh*t they are trying to shove down our throats.

At least we still get Deals with Gold.

You have no idea how annoying it is in Forza Horizon 2. Everytime you launch your car 2 feet in the air, you get a "Hang Time" recording. Since I'm lazy when it comes to saving clips, usually good clips get phased out by these auto records.

Yeah it's pretty annoying. And I play in first person mode, so it's not even that impressive. I recently went through my videos to delete a dozen or so "hang time" and "skillzilla" videos.

(This is a rant post of course, sometimes you just have to let it out)

Seems like everytime I try to get back into my X1, Xbox Live is down. Same thing happened to me last night. I tried downloading the new DLC for Trials Fusion on X1. It would only let me download it if I purchased it for $4.99. I do have the Season Pass. Have no idea why its not letting Season Pass holders download it without getting charged. On the Ubisoft forums alot of players are having the same issue, just on X1 version. Hopefully a fix will come before long. Its not like Trials Fusion is a popular game or anything so I wouldn't think it couldn't be from high volume of people trying to get it and overloading it.

Not that its making or braking my game time or anything but when you buy a season pass for a game, it would be nice to just be able to download the DLC when it gets released. Seems like I haven't played the X1 in a while, I got into Forza Horizon 2 Storm Island for a little bit, but not long. I did get Limbo and beat it in no time, its just not a long game so its understandable. Just losing interest more and more every week. This is probably a total coincidence that everytime I try to get on, Xbox Live is having issues, not always down, but seems like its always some kind of issue, its just getting old. Its as if the PS4 gods were like "what, he left us to go play X1 again" "awww no" " we can't have that" "make it to where he can't download his DLC that he already paid for" "that should work" "he'll be back"....................................................................now I'm back to playing PS4 again. Dying Light is not bad all. LOL

I feel your pain. Last week, my buddy and I were discussing the same thing. It seemed like every time we got together to finally play online, there was either an issue with the Party Chat, the Friends list, or some other stupid connection problem. Not only that, I also had a discussion just recently about GTA V not being completely optimized for Xbone. There's still problems with being thrown into empty lobbies, lobby splits, heavy amounts of lag, and when you go to accept an invite, there's literally a 5 second delay between the acceptance and it loading. Whereas, on PS4, I have none of these problems.

I bought my Xbox One because, to me, online service is the most important factor for gaming. And within the 9 years that I've been an Xbox Live subscriber, never did I once have a single problem or outage on Xbox 360. This is why we all paid the $60 premium, because XBL was worth it. Yet, the quality of Xbox Live service I've received over the past year has just been utterly disgusting on Xbox One. I didn't think it was ever possible to develop a sh*ttier service than PSN. Welp, it's difficult to say this, but XBL has really come down to that level over the past couple months. And although the PS4 has less to offer in terms of features and user-friendliness, it at least works like it's suppose to. f*ckin A.

*rant over*

By the way, I had no problems getting on XBL yesterday. I heard a lot of people were experiencing issues, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones to go unscathed. I was just ranting because my level of expectations for XBL as a whole are generally at the highest levels.

meh, that controller update did f*ck all for my controller.

It's been broken for months now. When I hold the xbox button in to turn the controller on, it flashes once, flashes twice and then fades out like there's a battery problem, however I've tried everything. New rechargeables, the old rechargables and fresh disposable ones. I have to have it connected by a wire at all times. Occasionally, I'll take the wire out and the controller will power itself on, however it then says that the batteries are getting low and then it dies.

I did a search a few weeks back and found out it is actually possible to semi-brick the controllers by accidently removing them while they update. I can only assume I might have done that when I first got my xbox ¬¬

I remember seeing a documentary type thing from Xbox about how much research and testing they done on the new controllers. Really f*cking great work that. Course I'd buy another one but I'm a broke ass bitch. f*cking dicks.

I will say, it's the greatest controller ever made. Not as durable as the 360 controller, but better nonetheless. It's so good, I can't get used to any other controller.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. It may be controller, or it could be the console. The only way to find out is if you were to buy another controller unfortunately.

I'm not condoning this but what you can do is go to the store buy a new controller and be very careful opening the box and than replace the new controller with the old one put it back in the back and take it back to the store and get a refund and a new controller without really spending a dime.

I preffered the 360 controller I think. The sticks being smaller make them a bit too twitchy for shooters. The D pad is a huge improvement though. Hated the 360's

I would try to re-sync the the controller first, especially from the updates. I would place it close to the X1, re-sync it, don't move the controller around at all while syncing. Its worth a shot.

I know what you mean, thats one of the main reasons I bought GTAV for PS4. It was a pretty good call. GTAV is just running better on PS4 not to mention Xbox One had hardly no advertising for GTAV before release, very little compared to PS4. I know it was a rights/advertising deal with Rock*, but no real info that I was looking for unfortunately. Like I don't even think Microsoft announced the resolution and frame rate for GTAV till 2-3 weeks before launch, Sony was atleast one and a half to two months ahead of them on that front. I mean, resolution/fps ain't gonna make or brake weather I enjoy a game or not. But if one console is running the game at 1080p/30fps and the other is 900p/30fps, I'm probably gonna pick the console with better stats first and foremost, second it would be nice to know well in advance along with the other consoles announcements to the game. Me, being a preorder junkie, this is a must. People can argue its because Sony had the advertising rights................so...........spend the money to get the rights / my attention and beat out the other guys. It can make or brake weather I buy it for your system or not.

Sigh, went through yesterday with no problems. Now today I can't sign into Xbox live.

E: After rebooting my console and my modem and router, I was able to sign in... but only after the initial boot up, when it normally has the little pop up that has my gamer pic and its says "Signed into Xbox Live", this time it said "Sorry, FRA1Z3R!" Then ask me personal questions and when i answered them it signed me in. What the f*ck is up with that?

Well, here's the thing. Microsoft just released a new SDK that better utilizes the eSRAM in the Xbox One. The eSRAM is a very small but fast cache resource that was originally allocated for the Kinect. These changes make it easier for developers to access the RAM. Also, they will be adding DirectX12 support to the console. The graphical improvements are negligible for DX12, but it provides an easier working environment for developers. There's also plans of a full OS overhaul, which would be very pleasing to see. Although I like the current OS, it's pretty laggy.

So if there's one competency that Microsoft has, it's software development, and I expect them to be very aggressive and active on this front. Yes, I've been griping about the service and other annoyances, but Phil Spencer has really been able to turn things around, and I trust that he will address every aching problem with the console.

I'm just impatient. :p

I had no idea my Xbox Live subscription was set to annual auto pay. I looked on my bank statement a little while ago and it had a Microsoft $63.59 charge and I'm like "I haven't bought anything since Forza Horizon 2: Storm Island. I look under my account and it was of course an auto pay subscription. Which really sucks because there is so many deals right now for one year of service for $39.99-$43.99 online.

So basically this week for Microsoft for me was a $63.59 fee out of no where and I still can't download the Trials Fusion: Fire in the Deep DLC for X1 even though I have the season pass and it came out on tues.

Microsoft: your a bunch of winners this week for sure.

Call them and see if you can get a refund. It might take some finese to explain the situation but it could work. The same thing happened to me on PSN, when you buy a year of ps+ it puts you on auto renewal and I didn't know that until it took $50 out of my account back in December. I hadn't even signed into PSN for 9 months prior. So I called and told them I was not aware my account was on auto renewal and they refunded the $50, they said it could take up to 8 days to be deposited but it went in that same day.
