Rare working on a new, non-KS project. What are you guys hoping it will be? I'm kind of hoping for either a new Banjo-Kazooie, or a new platformer IP in the vein of Donkey Kong Country.

Anyone else having connectivity issues on Xbox One? Seams that the servers are getting slammed thanks to the rush of players on Halo & CoD.

I just posted this in the AW thread, but the newest update for AW was released today on Xbox One. It should address some of the connection issues. As far as Halo is concerned, I think that's still having issues.

MS filed a trademark for Battletoads a few days ago.

Battletoads? Let me guess, £15 at release, free for gold members in a few months.

Oh god, oh god.

Please let this become a reality. And please let it not suck.

I don't know. I think Battletoads would be better left as a fond memory of 8 bit fun and frustration. When someone, no matter what developer, tries to remake games like this, they fail. Not because they do a sh*tty job but because people have unrealistic expectations for the game and hope that its profoundly nostalgic, but once they get their hands on it the nostalgia wears off after only a few minutes.

people have unrealistic expectations for the game

It's not just just older games, most games that become big suffer from that.

I don't care about people with unrealistic expectations and they shouldn't be a roadblock to trying something.

Nothing would ever get made if that were the case.

Ya'll gotta expand with fat externals. It's like a warm security blanket.

I'm all for leaving nostalgia in the past...where it belongs. Reboots and what-have-ya are hit or miss but hey. The last two Wolfenstein games were a good revisit in my mind. Championship pacman is a fun game that is so much pacman still. On the flip side there were all the crappy retries at pitfall, dragons lair,...make your own list, etc...

Along the same talk. I wouldn't mind a bunch of arcade release that were truer to their originals and not trying to be 'new' and 'next gen'. I had no problems paying money and playing all the arcade release that were on the 360...ms pacman, asteroids, galaga, frogger...you know what I'm saying.

I got to play Duck Tales HD on the 360 a couple days ago and it was juat as brilliant as when I had last put it down in 1992.

I only have 42GB's of storage left on my Xbox One. This thing really should have really had a 1TB drive from the start as games are now around 50GB's which means you can only get around eight high capacity games. I also don't want to have a big hard drive tackily dangling from my Xbox's USB port.

I wish that you could just buy a new internal drive like you could with the 360.

Lots of good things can be made from new ideas.

A new Battletoads has turned into a fad at this point though, if Microsoft makes it, it will more than likely be made to capitalize on that premise. It's built up over the years, whispers on the Internet about a remake to the point where it kinda becomes a joke.

But really what I'm getting at, yes, Battletoads was a blast when it was released but if you were to play that game now it wouldn't be quite the same. What you remember as being a f*cking blast might not be so fun now. If you see what I'm saying.

If it were to be redone, I for one would pass because I want my Battletoads memories to stay in tact. LOL! Remembering it now is a great childhood memory, but if a new one came about and I played it I feel like it would tarnish what I remember of it.

I hear you, but externals aren't big, bulky, ugly things anymore.

My One is in my living room in a basic tv stand dealie. you'll never see the external drive because it sits behind the xbox.

The difference between adding a drive to the 360 and the One in that you can slap any external drive on the One while on the 360 you had to use a form factor 360 harddrive. And if you wanted to play xbox originals (III, VC, SA) like myself you had to use a true MS 360 harddrive and not a 3rd party 360 drive. I learned the hardway on the xbox originals and MS drive thing.

Edit: added you controversy.

Some of my achievements are completed but not unlocked. It says on the achievement progress bar "Done! Unlocking." But it never unlocks. It's not all the achievements though. Is anyone else having this problem?

Probably hundred's of 'how much did Microsoft pay you to give it a good review'? Got to laugh at people who take this console stuff seriously.

Sunset is almost definitely my GOTY. It's that good. Or this year was that bad.

Playstation has changed GTA V's availability to 9:01PM PST / 12:01AM EST.

Microsoft REALLY needs to follow in their path here.

The past few weeks have been incredibly exciting, marked by a series of highly-anticipated game and bundle launches and the most affordable prices yet for Xbox One. We are humbled by the positive response to our new offerings and grateful for the support from our fans.

Yesterday, we celebrated the arrival of the iconic Halo franchise on Xbox One, as Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched to millions of excited fans and an impressive Metacritic score of 89. Sunset Overdrive was recently named by IGN as the “Game of the Month” for October. The new Xbox One bundles, which feature some of this holiday’s most anticipated games including Assassin’s Creed Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Sunset Overdrive, hit store shelves with a limited time offer of $50 off any Xbox One of your choice. Starting as low as $349 in the US, the Xbox One is more affordable than ever this holiday season.

The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2. Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday. As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks. Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles.

Almost one year ago, I had the honor of shaking hands with hundreds of fans at our Xbox One launch in New York City. We have listened to your feedback and have worked hard to deliver hundreds of improvements to Xbox One, celebrated the launch of amazing new games, and sought ways to offer more value for you. As we reach this milestone, I remain awestruck by your passion for games and your support of Xbox One. Thank you for an incredible year.
It's good to see the X1 finally getting a few wins. It deserves as much with all the work MS have put into it in the last 6 months or so.

Still, can't help but think they need to do more than just the US market. It's still getting out sold pretty comfortably in the UK and the rest of Europe

There was a deal for a 3TB external from NewEgg on eBay a few days ago for $80 w/ free shipping. I'm so angry I didn't pull the trigger. Also, I heard loading is even faster from an external because the USB 3.0 is faster than the internal SATA connection. So, definitely going to be buying an external soon.

That's more dependant on the drive itself. SATA II is capped at 3Gb/s which is about 375MB/s and honestly, you aren't going to be hitting that cap with a hard drive.

Though it is true that USB 3 has a faster transfer speed at 5Gb/s which is about 625MB/s.

I don't care about what ifs, I really don't. It may end up sucking, but we'll never know if it doesn't get made.

It absolutely f*cking pisses me off how certain big players in the industry are sitting on a lot of IPs and doing f*ck all with them. Microsoft have quite a few courtesy of RARE and others. EA has a f*cking treasure trove that they have sitting around collecting dust.
