I'm am so jelous of you guys now though, I had my son three years ago now and he is running all over the place. I just can't be totally blocked off from sound in my house

My 3yo is the same way lol. The husband and I just alternate between who games and who watches the kiddo. And once the tot is in bed we both play w/ no worries. Or if I'm home alone I only put one earmuff on and the other I put behind my ear so I can still hear my son.

I just use the stock headset that came with the One. Works, well worked just fine.. it's messed up now, a lot of static and sh*t like that. So I'll probably be getting myself some TB's soon just for the hell of it.

Why aren't there any wireless headsets out for the One yet though? I just don't understand.. I shouldn't need a f*cking adapter and the One has been out long enough for most audio companies to have released a compatible wireless headset for Xbox. Which makes me think that it has something to do with Microsoft policies or something .. I don't know.

I've yet to buy a headset just for the fact that I don't want wired and I don't want to use the TB's I have for the 360 due to the Mt. Everest length of wires on that sumbitch.

I think this is what you're looking for. Supposedly everything is completely wireless. It's pretty expensive, and won't be available until Nov 4.

£199.99 ?!? Pfft, might as well spend the extra money and get something from Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic.

I wouldn't mind paying that kind of money for an all-wireless Astro headset, but definitely not for a Turtle Beach. You see where I circled on the picture below? This is where the TB headsets notoriously snap and break. If you're going to dish out on these for the wireless features, I suggest you at least get it insured by Square Trade first.

I'm well aware of that weakness. One of my first headsets was a TB x12 and it snapped after about a year. I'm surprised that even their "high end" headsets are built with the exact same weakness.

For those that are looking to buy a Turtle Beach Headset for their Xbox One, I highly recommend you wait a few weeks. Currently, most of the Turtle Beach headsets for Xbox One are poorly implemented and don't even have a mic monitor so it's like you're talking in a box. Luckily, Turtle Beach is finally fixing this after almost a year and headsets will be releasing with a Mic Monitor late this month/early next month.

I know this is kind of a bit left field, but it really annoys me how Xbox Video is a stream only service on XB1. I tried watching A Million Ways To Die In The West and it felt like I was watching some crappy video on Youtube. :/

it annoys me too, I have good cable Internet and sometimes it still goes pixilated when streaming movies.

Well, just found these, apparently Astro is releasing a new set of A50's made for the Xbox One. I'm assuming that this also means the chat wire is wireless too. I can't seem to find any specific details on it yet. They release this coming Monday.

Edit: Scratch that. Looks like you still need a stupid chat cable. All that money for a headset and they couldn't add a wireless chat capability? Really? :whuh:

Any headset for the system that allows you to hear game audio along with chat audio?

Just about every headset you can buy... :D

Reason I asked is because some headsets only run chat audio, not game audio. Also, doesn't the XBOX One have HDMI? My current headset won't work with it.

It also has an Optical out, which is used for digital audio.

Thanks for all the tips/info y'all! Much appreciated. Now another question and I might stop harassing y'all...but probably not.

Anywayssss, anybody know a decent place that customizes xbone controllers without charging out the ass? I refuse to pay someone $200 to paint a controller for me that doesn't even have mods.

Yes, it's a Toslink digital cable. What exactly are you trying to connect?

Honestly, the best custom controller I've ever seen is the Scuf controller. Not really sure what you're looking for, but they were originally designed for FPS's. Not cheap, but worth the price. They also have a service where you can send in your controller that can cost anywhere from $50 to $100 depending on what customizations you add.

In all honesty I wouldn't recommend Turtle Beach at all.

It was no different with the original A50's. If I remember correctly the connection to the mixamp is wireless but you still needed to connect the chat cable to the headset (I think this applied to the PS3 as well)

Hide away microphone just if you want to use them as headphones. My brother has them and they're great.

Even though it says for 360, you can register the headset with Polk audio and they'll send you the adapter for the xbox one. :^:

Those Polk are really nice for $75!

Not only that but you get the adapter from them for free, which is around $25 regularly. That alone makes it worth the purchase :^:

They're really great and comfy, especially the leather around the ears; definitely noise cancelling. Plus the push away microphone if you jsut want them to wear around like normal headphones.

It's 2014 even if it's October it's still 2014 :p

You make it sound like wired stuff shouldn't exist when in actual fact a wired connection is better in almost every way other than keeping things tidy. Anyway, you should start seeing wireless receivers soon because Astro already has a custom Xbox One chat adapter that connects to the controller so I'd expect some wireless adapters to come soon.

I don't mind wired stuff, we're always going to have something wired but when it comes to something as simple as an audio device and chat, we should have wireless out the ass right now for the Xbox One, PS4, etc. But we don't.. and why? I highly doubt that it's an issue of tech but more an issue of Microsoft probably only wanting to license top dollar sh*t.

I mean, TB's first truly wireless XB1 headset is going to be $230 .. f*cking what? I can use 230 for a payment on a new motorcycle at that price, sh*t. But I'm saying, why don't we have a wireless mic like 360 had? Little bluetooth earpiece thingy.. that thing was perfect, I loved it. I don't care for a headset and game audio, I have a TV.. I just want chat audio.

But nupe, they're taking that whole stereo headset fad route like the PC. If anything, they should have had the wired and wireless headsets available at the One's release, simply put. f*ck an adapter.. so I just paid $500 and I have to purchase a $25 piece of plastic sh*t to use my current headset? It's bullsh*t. Which is why I'm not going to go out there and buy another stereo headset and then personally have 2 headsets at my home. Like really? Nope.. I don't fall for that corporate sh*t.

Holy sh*t...I dont think I'll be playing without headphones from here on out.

I finally picked up the stereo headphone adapter and plugged in my Sony studio phones(I almost said cans but then thouht people probably stopped calling them cans like 30 years ago).

Alien Isolation is even more tense now.

Wouldn't they need to redesign a receiver for chat inside the headset though? My guess is that they're trying to avoid interference between chat and game audio. What would be nice is if they could tap in directly (wirelessly) to the console for chat. That technology was available on Xbox 360 if you can remember the wireless earpiece dongle.

If you like FPS games, try it there and experience the amazing world of "sound whoring". You can literally hear opponents behind a wall with a good sorround sound headset.

Anyone else having a horrible experience after the recent update? My Xbox One is now just as buggy as it was on day one if not worse.

What has made the experience worse since the update? Also have you tried completely powering down the console and doing a cold boot?
