edit: It was 75 degrees here yesturday. Today its 38 degrees a low of 18.

Ha same thing happened here. It was like 80 Sunday then today it was 30. When I noticed it was snowing I had to take a second look just to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

 

So did anyone get Trials Fusion today? I've noticed that quite a lot of people has.

The Xbox One is down to £349 (Including Titanfall) in the UK. I must admit that kind of seems tempting. But I just can't justify it still. The PS4 is still more powerful, has a replacable hard drive, will have better support for indies and less restrictive game update requirements and is far less locked down.

 

Can anyone give me any major valid points what the Xbox One has over the PS4?

 

(The kinect, even as a freebie is a negative point for me, it will end up as a doorstop.)

 

Is the party chat system fixed yet? If I can't be in a chat with someone doing anything on that system then I never want the console.

Either your a PS guy or an Xbox guy. Its been like that since forever now. Each have there own perks. I would imagine the 32 gb deal is a sham. I would say there will be a much larger option. Believe me, I have had one since Nov. I have four games some other stuff downloaded. I still have around 250 GB left. Its not as much of a worry as most seem to think. Unless your buying a tone of games right off the bat, I wouldn't worry much. Now back to which console do you want more?

 

I would look at the exclusive games each system has and will have in the next 3-4 years min. PS4 does have better resolution right now for most games that are on both consoles. X1 does have games that are 1080p 60 FPS now, but alot are not. When Direct X 12 gets updated to the console it will have 1080p 60 FPS for the games that it needs to be. They are saying the games that come out in holiday 2015 will be the first games that are going to utilize it. The Witcher 3, oh yeah that will be nice. PS4 will have a streaming game service I keep hearing about. It sounds pretty cool. X1 does have a HDMI IN and Out which is nice for your cable or sat. boxes. Which really if you wanted you could play a PS4 through you X1 if you wanted too. (I know this would be an imortal sin though in Sony land LOL) To be more down to earth

PS4 = gaming console, X1 = gaming console + media box.

 

So really its all about preference. Both controllers are pretty good, but I've heard X1 controller has more battery life than PS4. Big difference from the 360 controller. Better molded to your hand. I did hear that PS4 had an update to dim that light on the controller to get more battery life out of them. But then again I don't Troll PS forums or threads so I don't know if it makes a differece. I just ain't got no bussiness there, I wish others would do the same in this thread. But then again they might start full on seizure if they can't nose in our bussiness. (Been like that since 360 days) Hard habbits hard to brake.

 

I do like the PS4, but not enough for me to drop more money into another next gen right now after buying an X1. The price differece has faded. They are pretty much the same price give or take $50, they each have a paid service now. I know PS is still free, but who would want the free one when you could have plus and get more stuff. Never made since why guys want the downgraded version. Its like getting a V-6 Mustang or something. There aint no American Muscle in that, just buy a Prius and call it a day LOL.

 

Thanks for the info. I am not in the US so I can't take advantage of the entertainment features. I do not use netflix or any social media on my console. It is only about games and party chat for me really. The only reason I am still weighing the choice up is that I have an existing xbox account and if I switch to PS4 I will have to pay for PS+ to play online as an additional price, which makes it in a way more expensive than an xbox one right now.

 

The storage issue is a lifetime issue for me. Not that I think I will run out now, but eventually in a few years time It will become a problem for everyone and I want the easiest transition and hopefully be using only one hard drive. As far as I am aware the PS4 can take any hard drive that fits. So the thought of having a 2TB drive straight off the bat is a lot less hastle than having one dangling off the side of the xbox one via usb.

 

How is the record feature? Last I heard you could only get the last 5 minutes and you could only upload video to facebook. Is this still the case? Also I refuse to use voice commands so how would I start recording without it?

I would say that you can just use the headset if you didn't want to use the Kinect. You can upload to YouTube, Facebook. You can stream instantly on Twitch and broadcast. I'm not sure about the additional hard drive space. No official announcements have been made yet.

 

But in your case for purchasing a new console, if you told me I couldn't use all the features on a console because my country limited me. I wouldn't buy the console. I would consider a PS4 then if it let me do everything the console offered. I just can't believe it won't let you use all the features. This is sad. I feel for you all over there.

The more you say you won't talk to a device, the obvious the choice is; ps4.

 

The whole point of voice commands is convenience. 'Xbox, snap party chat' Bam! start your party. 'Xbox, record that' bam! Record the last 15 20 seconds of gameplay.

 

Recording was recently updated to allow youtube uploads and even better quality.

 

There is a usb in the back to stash the external harddrive when available. More than likely 2tb allowance.

 

 

So if you're not planning on using the kinect for commands, then what's the point?

Direct upload to YouTube works well for me. I've uploaded 3 videos now. Try pressing up on the dpad a few times until you see the upload tab. If you still can't find it, the app may not be up to date.

Does anyone have their XB1 connected through their cable box and leave it on for long periods of time? I've read it was designed to stay on for 10 years! Seems that all the forums about this topic were dated right after the xbox one released and seems like speculation. I would imagine it is designed that way. And is considerably more quiet then compared to my 360. Almost silent. Anyways what's the longest anyone has left it on?
