The Xbox One is down to £349 (Including Titanfall) in the UK. I must admit that kind of seems tempting. But I just can't justify it still. The PS4 is still more powerful, has a replacable hard drive, will have better support for indies and less restrictive game update requirements and is far less locked down.

 

Can anyone give me any major valid points what the Xbox One has over the PS4?

 

(The kinect, even as a freebie is a negative point for me, it will end up as a doorstop.)

 

Is the party chat system fixed yet? If I can't be in a chat with someone doing anything on that system then I never want the console.

 

Someone sell me on it.

-The additional external storage is on the way.

 

-If you route your set top box through it then the instant switching between games and TV is totally convenient. It may not sound like much, but you totally get used to it and it makes firing up a game on the 360 seem like it takes forever in comparison.

 

-Instant on (your last game). Even if you have turned off the X1, when you turn it on and go to the game you were last playing it is sitting there where you paused/left it.

 

-Weightier feeling controller.

 

-This one will sound corny but; MS and their commitment to their console, software, interfaces, and all that whoha. Just like the 360 was an ever changing console with updates and tweaks...I have to imagine the same will be for the X1.

 

-Not sure how much the Indie support and locked down arguments apply these days.

Trip nailed it but forgot to mention that the chat system is better, you can just join in and chat not without being in a game.

 

 

The whole mumble jumble of PS4 being powerful is true, but noticing the difference is minimal. Considering Ryse looks the best at the moment with Infamous right behind, my opinion obviously. With DX12 on the horizon, the powerful difference will be even narrower.

That is where the deal was.

 

Even though that is an insanely good deal. I have no interest in Titanfall.

 

As for the storage. Isn't it only up to 32gb external hard drive space? I won't even be able to save even one game to that. So that is not really an option. I also don't have a cable box or any need to run anything through it. I usually leave my 360 on 24/7 anyway so startup time for me isn't an issue.

 

The only things even remotely interest me is the fact I already have an XBL account I pay for so it would be easy to switch and keep that going, and that the stick placement on the controller is more of what I am used to. But I don't like the triggers.

 

I still haven't managed to get a feel of the PS4 or X1 controller. To me the 360 controller is the best feeling controller I have ever used. It took 0 time to get used to it, it just felt right.

 

I don't know if that is the case for either console or not.

I don't think there has been anything officially published to say what size [or how] the external storage is going to work(I may be wrong). 20 bucks says you will need to buy a MS branded external drive and you wont be able to slap just any usb drive in the hole.

 

It is pretty easy to get used to the controller. For me it felt weird at first, but now I'm able to switch back and forth between the 360 and the One controller without thought.

 

Since you have an existing XBL account; Your account can be connected via both the 360 and the One simultaneously. That is just another one of those little things that works out to be a convenience.

The 32gb size restriction was only on the 360. There is no talk about the size for the xbox one but considering you have to install every game, there would be no reason for it to not allow 2TB. Plus I think an external is a lot better than having to swab out another HDD, gotta re-install everything...

 

If you thought the 360 controller was the best feeling, you would love the xone. The way they integrated the battery pack into the controller, instead of the big lump on the back; that constricted your fingers. The sticks are better and the vibration in the triggers is superb.

 

Not interested in Titanfall? Sell the code on ebay or something. Even better deal.

 

Just log into your email address on the xone and bam, account shared on both systems.

 

 

 

Oh yea, got a tablet? Smartglass! Can't wait for more games to use this feature, which is why I bought a 10' ASUS tablet the other day.

I am pretty certain I saw major nelson say something along the lines of "32gig will be available in next patch" or maybe that is what currently works, all I know is that was the number they gave out.

 

There still is really nothing mentioned that offers me something I need. It is going to have to be down to games and until something really awesome comes out that is exclusive to the console I can't justify the purchase.

 

Also the fact I could have XBL priviledges taken away from me if I grief people online, a service which I PAY FOR, makes me never want to get involved in it.

 

If there is ever a bundle without the kinect, I might go for it but for now. Even at that decent price point, I just can't do it.

According to that link a week ago, there is no information yet from MN that there will be a limit. They know games take up a lot of space, so 32gb would be just a waste of time.

 

They always have a system, coming soon at least. That will award behaving players. I don't get it, what's the point of this reputation system? You can already see exploits in these trash ideas. Rage quitters or kids will grief other people for no reason just to troll them and ruin other peoples gaming, and online games are mostly exposable to this.

 

I'm not sure about the award for good behaviour. What is that even supposed to do? Give you cookies? It's all just a gimmick. The fact that they take away a persons privilege of the XBL service if they go through trouble is anti-consumer. Unless they actually thoroughly check with that person and his history, their acting like a government.

Finally on the last chapter in Thief, then sending this repetitive crap back to gamefly.

 

Gamefly is a savior, never have to buy a game again. Especially if it turns out to be crap.

Either your a PS guy or an Xbox guy. Its been like that since forever now. Each have there own perks. I would imagine the 32 gb deal is a sham. I would say there will be a much larger option. Believe me, I have had one since Nov. I have four games some other stuff downloaded. I still have around 250 GB left. Its not as much of a worry as most seem to think. Unless your buying a tone of games right off the bat, I wouldn't worry much. Now back to which console do you want more?

 

I would look at the exclusive games each system has and will have in the next 3-4 years min. PS4 does have better resolution right now for most games that are on both consoles. X1 does have games that are 1080p 60 FPS now, but alot are not. When Direct X 12 gets updated to the console it will have 1080p 60 FPS for the games that it needs to be. They are saying the games that come out in holiday 2015 will be the first games that are going to utilize it. The Witcher 3, oh yeah that will be nice. PS4 will have a streaming game service I keep hearing about. It sounds pretty cool. X1 does have a HDMI IN and Out which is nice for your cable or sat. boxes. Which really if you wanted you could play a PS4 through you X1 if you wanted too. (I know this would be an imortal sin though in Sony land LOL) To be more down to earth

PS4 = gaming console, X1 = gaming console + media box.

 

So really its all about preference. Both controllers are pretty good, but I've heard X1 controller has more battery life than PS4. Big difference from the 360 controller. Better molded to your hand. I did hear that PS4 had an update to dim that light on the controller to get more battery life out of them. But then again I don't Troll PS forums or threads so I don't know if it makes a differece. I just ain't got no bussiness there, I wish others would do the same in this thread. But then again they might start full on seizure if they can't nose in our bussiness. (Been like that since 360 days) Hard habbits hard to brake.

 

I do like the PS4, but not enough for me to drop more money into another next gen right now after buying an X1. The price differece has faded. They are pretty much the same price give or take $50, they each have a paid service now. I know PS is still free, but who would want the free one when you could have plus and get more stuff. Never made since why guys want the downgraded version. Its like getting a V-6 Mustang or something. There aint no American Muscle in that, just buy a Prius and call it a day LOL.

Anyone know if stuff on your Xbox 360 hard drive could be transferred to the hard drive on your Xbox One? For example, I bought a season pass and multiple other add on packs for AC IV. I don't want to lose those and have to buy them all over again for the Xbox One version. Is there anyway I can keep all of those without having to buy them again?

Pretty sure you have to rebuy everything all over again. Which is crappy but that's how it works.

Basically, if you like media stuff, the Xbox One is your best choice. It blows the PS4 away in terms of what you can do outside of games (Snapping, etc.)

 

If you just want a gaming console, you're gonna wanna go PS4.

I own an xbox one already so yeah lol. I'm not following a stereotype that it is good, more or less that it benefits an area I live in more than purchasing from overseas companies. Not specific to just the xbox though. I use iPhones as well, solely because the micro USB charging ports on androids have ALWAYS given me problems. I work in the audio industry so apple computers are a standard. I am however starting to lean towards windows because of windows 8 and the surface tablets. They seek way better and more fluent than apples recycled iPads.

I agree with the recycles iPad's too. It was a technological advance when it first game out, now it's the same rehashed sh*t just like every other product they've made. Apple should make a slogan like, "Making teh same apples just for you" or something like that.
