Consoles with 4k resolution would first of all need high end graphics cards and that would be too much money spent by the company. They can't afford it. Well especially Sony because they wouldn't be able to afford it. They aren't as rich as Microsoft are especially considering that Microsoft are making 100x more on their software side of business. Although Xbox Division is separate really.

They'd be more than that. AMD just announced a single GPU card that maxes out BF4 at 4K, 38fps at most and it's listed for $1500. 4K gaming isn't viable for anyone right now; not even us PC gamers.

Yea, until the hardware is at a reasonable price; both platforms will be stuck at the current state. That's why I lol'd at whoever stated these consoles will last upto a decade.

Untill source is shown, its all hearsay. and second why would any of us want a crappy game on Next Gen too. LOL We all aready have it for current gen. and it sucks. Even if it came out for X1 and PS4,PC. (not saying it won't, I just haven't seen an official annoucement but I've heard rumors) I just can't see it becoming a great game after all the lies and still no heists. Could you imagine that first day of Online. (Ouch) The next gen jump won't solve there problems. Even if they came out with Heists along with it. Plus Watch Dogs will be out and hopefully in full stride. Thanks for the info though. Coming from Next Gen., current gen can keep that problem. On top of everthing else, it wasn't an exclusive on current gen to certain consoles, I just can't see it becoming exclusive on next gen or pc's.

yeah, sales are not as good as PS4 right now but I don't think they are hurting for money or anything or enough to not want to bring out a crappy GTA. The console is still gaining steam along the way. (Direct X 12 will help alot) Take today for instance. I'm going to Gamestop after work to preorder Trials Fusion w/season pass, Wolfenstien, and Watch Dogs w/season pass. My total is right under $200. They are doing fine in sales and money. For the botched numbers on specs. for the Internet support Hardware Config. who knows. I don't know much about it. But I do know bussiness and Microsoft is all about bussiness, they won't miss out. I assure you.

You need a compatible monitor or TV which isn't cheap either.

The cheapest 4K monitor I've seen is $700. For that price you might as well buy a GTX 780Ti and game at 1440p or something.

That's not very accurate, the retailer wants a cut and some other overhead costs. Plus, their bundles and price cuts in some places. It's a wash or loss at this point. Accessories is where they make their money.

Yes some; which didn't last long but they made the 30 euro price cut in the UK. Plus with the Forza and Titanfall bundle, they are definitely losing money.

Well to be fair they are losing a lot in the UK and around Europe, because Microsoft sells nowhere near what they need to in those areas, it's literally where the PS4 hatch is. So the cuts in the UK makes sense.

 

I'm also surprised that the PS4 in Japan is being overtaken in sales by the Vita Definitely the lack of games is the reason. inFamous is the only game that sold well there and they sold 1 million copies in 9 days around the world.
