They really need to bring back Don Mattrick. He did wonderful things no other guy for MS could dream of!

If you want a previous Xbox Boss to come back then you're going backwards.

I was joking. Because a while back Down said if you wanted Backwards Compatibility you were going backwards. Sorry that you didn't get it. :<

That seems like just an XB1 though. No Forza 5 included in that

Hmm well that's interesting. I will still most likely be purchasing a PS4 though. Can you hook up a DirectTV box to your XB1 or does it have to be cable from certain providers?

Does your DirectTV box have a hdmi port gtamann? If so you can connect it to the Xbox One via hdmi out. I have read that some people have had success and others have had issues trying to set it up. I'm not sure what was causing those issues, but it could of been compatibility problems with older DirectTV boxes.

I don't currently have DirectTV but I plan on getting it. So basically all you do is hook the HDMI out from the TV box to the XB1? Actually that leads me to another question. What exactly is the advantages to having your TV hooked up through the XB1? can you play your TV output and games at the same time?

Instant switching. Go from gaming to TV all in the quickness of a few words

Yeah just plug one end of the hdmi cable into the hdmi out port on the Xbox One, and the other end in the hdmi in port of the DirectTV box. Then just turn the DirectTV box on and it should show up on the TV app.

You open the app called Snap, and you can watch tv while you play a game. Pretty cool

I would get an xbox first, if you plan on getting both, if not definitely xbox either way :p

Sounds cool. I watched a video on Youtube of all the media intergration features on XB1 and I am starting to consider it more. I was originally considering PS4 because I do 99% of my gaming on PS3 currently but I guess it wouldn't be a big deal to get an XB1 since neither system is backwards compatible.

Yeah just plug one end of the hdmi cable into the hdmi out port on the Xbox One, and the other end in the hdmi in port of the DirectTV box. Then just turn the DirectTV box on and it should show up on the TV app.

So it's just seamless? No real set up pains or anything?

You really can't go wrong either way. I mean you'll get people that'll tell you, "Grrrr, PS4 haz da best graffixx, an da hire rezolushon." Games look stunning on both consoles. And in reality, are you buying these consoles to play games, or count pixels?

Gtaman - there is an initial setup of the Xbox figuring out what kind of TV, and set top box it is talking to. It is all quick and painless because it uses IR to set it all up - just like an old fashioned universal remote. If you plan on using OneGuide you need to tell the Xbox who your provider is.

All in all the set up might take all but 5 minutes...after that you are ready to "Xbox watch TV...watch History channel" - get board of watching TV "Xbox go to Fora 5"

Instant switching. Go from gaming to TV with a single button. ;)Oh mer gawd, cuz he like totally asked me what was one of the benefits of having teh Xbox connected with his cable box, and like I totally answered him. Like theres totally no reason for u to be a smrtass about it.

What if his TV only had two HDMI ports? He already has his PS3, and the cable box. Oh noes that magical button won't work then. Oh, but what's that? The Xbox One has an HDMI in? OMG like no way! He can like totally connect his cable box to his Xbox One and switch between them with the Kinect. And thats like not even the full package, you can like totally snap the tv and still play da game. Holy f*cking sh*t, that is liek so friggin amazing amirite? Like totally f*ck that button.

Can you change the tv channel with the xbox controller.

Yea, just open the One Guide and you can still navigate with the controller that way. :)

My kinect died. 2 day turnover with MS so I'll have my replacement tomorrow. I almost wasn't going to say anything here since it is one of those things people might like to jump all over with bandwagon hate(or what-have-ya).

It is downright painful living without "kinect on" after it becomes part of your routine.

Oh and my thought on Kinect Sports Rivals scanning you(via kinect camera) as the avatar is true. So the whole scanning you to be an avatar that was talked about a page back or so is true(at least in Rivals for now).

Well...2 days if you do the $120 hold on a credit card. They ship you the new one with a box and return postage to send back the broken one. You get like 90 days to send it back or they charge you the money on hold.

The other option is to send them the broken one and then they send the new one - that equaled like 2 weeks or something.

I need "xbox on...Watch TV" NOW!!!!!
