Some folk on Kotaku were saying that it booted them out because they weren't signed in to the profile that bought the game. Who knows though.

My local game store just got a shipment of PS4's and X1's.

 

The prices are crazy, though.

 

$700 for a PS4 bundled with two controllers and two games.

 

$550-$600 for the One with any launch game.

 

Guess I'll just wait until MS releases a Halo 5 bundle.

Of course, they're bundles. They are always expensive when they are first introduced. But the bundle for the Xbox seems sh*t since you only get ONE launch game.

All the gamestops near me only have the Xbox One with 3 games and an extra control I think for $740

Eventually you will lose any credibility and if you actually were to say something that was true chances are people aren't going to believe you.

 

Look... we all get your pro PS4/anti X1 agenda, and I for one would be happy to entertain any info you have on either side (good or bad) but at least try to be half accurate. Heck, even just close might work in your case.

 

@Flynny - thank goodness no company has the power to censor. My guess is that MS threatened a liable suit to the few places that ran the article. I would like to read more on the issue, but it really is nowhere. Even when Pat posted the original link I was unable to find much info other then that gameautra article. I totally thought there would have been a huge explosion over at neogaf and some of the other (close to the industry) sites.

I got a Xbox One, controller w/ play and charge kit, extra two year warranty for the One, BF4 w/ Premium, COD Ghosts w/ season pass, Dead Rising 3 w/ season pass, Watch Dogs (which of course I never got, but still paid for it). I'm pretty sure I paid around $1150.00 all said and done. But..........its once every ten years a new console comes out........thats what I keep telling my wife. (She's not too mad. LOL)

Even when Pat posted the original link I was unable to find much info other then that gameautra article. I totally thought there would have been a huge explosion over at neogaf and some of the other (close to the industry) sites.

It did lol, but they (Neogaf) found out that the tournament was using the game in a secondary console instead of a primary (Home) console (where they bought the game). This has nothing to do with a new or a revised DRM policy. It exist in 360 too.

I think its cool as hell that your wife is involved with your gaming. All my wife says is "I don't want no part of that sh*t". LOL. She might come up to the man cave every once in a while, she just plays on her phone the whole time though. She is being a good sport about it though.

I think you mean libel, liable is something else but that's neither here nor there. Libel refers to falsehoods, so maybe this is all a misunderstanding of sorts like I said initially or maybe it is censorship because companies do sue for libel even at true things but the stuff still gets taken down to avoid escalation. At least we can rest easy that DRM isn't back in full, yet.

Those prices lead me to believe that game prices are gonna be a f*cking bitch or that items in this store are a rip-off

$400 for console

$300 for 2 games and 2 controllers, something there does not add up at all.

$75 each game and each controller on average.

I have seen controllers go for $60 so $90 per game?

and this is in a bundle which is supposed to be cheaper than the sum of its parts, so let's say $100 per game normally.

So either this store is really gouging people on these bundles or games next gen are gonna be even more expensive and this is even before we take into account micro-transactions and dlc (both legitimate dlc and illegitimate dlc)

 

for the xbox bundle that is only an acceptable price if it is a controller and a game or 2 games, still not a great bundle price but more acceptable

as for the ps4 bundle, another game to be EQUAL to the sum of its parts, going by last gen game prices.

 

When you do get an xbox I would take your custom elsewhere, based on what I've seen these prices are as horrendous as the ps store.

Xbox support is a f*cking joke. Every time I try to deal with them it’s just facepalmingly bad.

I made a long post detailing my problem with connecting to my friend’s game and they tell me the problem is I need gold to play online.

No f*cking sh*t I need gold to play online, I started the support thread after my gold ran out and wanted some help before I go and waste another gold code.

The last update on COD for Xbox One took me around 15-20 min. It did finally go through. But it was just an update. I couldn't imagine a digital download for the full game. Just think how long the first DLC will take. Its gotta be atleast a GB or larger. I'll block out an hour for it.

Yeah. Those digital downloads are huge...

Isn't CoD Ghosts like 13 gigs? Took forever on my old school DSL connection.

 

I love digital distribution. I just wish it was a bit more of an open market. I'd like to be able to pick up some games on sale at a retail store...but not actually buy the disc. You know, come home with a QR code that gives me access to the download.

Well before MS changed everything it was going to be sort of like that, you install the game and you're able to take the disc out and still play. But obviously you needed to sign in every 24 hours to prevent people from passing around their games. Also if you took the game to a friends house you needed to be signed in to your profile to play. Of course all of this was too much hassle for gaming. And everyone felt violated.

I have decided that I would like to get BF4 , AC:IV and Ryse: SoR to start off with, but early next year I may have already finished these games/lost interest. Of course in March I'm planning on getting Titanfall once it has released, but I cannot decide what other titles to get. They all appeal to me in some way, but also put me off of buying them in some other ways.

 

If anyone has had a decent amount of time spent on some of the games that I haven't listed already, I would love to hear your opinions on them.

DR3 ( "It's 720p" That's my joke for this comment ), BF4 ( Way better than Ghost but some bug problems ), I heard Ryse gets repetitive fast and has poor reviews.

 

Like sports games? 2K14 and Madden 25 ( Madden doesn't really have a improvement though )

BF 4 and AC IV are fantastic on next-gen. Ryse got mixed reviews, so I'd say go for it when the price drops. FM 5 seems mediocre according the fanbase, same goes for 2K14. Not sure about Madden, though. FIFA seems like good fun. Overall your best pick would be Dead Rising 3. Got good reviews from both the critics and the fanbase.

I gotta say that I enjoyed Dead Rising 3 way more than expected. Crazy ass fun game...way better than the first two in the series.

 

AC4 is totally worth it in my book too.

Got my Xbox One today. Currently doing the initial setup, so I can't give my first impressions as of yet.

 

The only game I have so far is DR3 (got it bundled w/ the console), but I'm going round my dad's tomorrow say I may get a few games there, but if not I can just go to my local game during the week and pick a couple of games up.

I've had a few hours today to out some of the features of the X1, and so far I've really enjoyed it.

 

I played a bit of DR3 co-op with a friend, and also tried out the snap feature, which was kind of hard to figure out at first, but quite a cool feature once I got the hang of it. Kinect voice commands are a bit hit-and-miss for me, sometimes it can read my voice perfectly fine, but others it have to repeatedly tell my Kinect to "snap" or "go to friends", etc.

 

Tomorrow I should be going with my dad to my local GAME to pick up a few games. I'm hoping to trade in BF4 and get that upgraded to X1, and also pick up AC:IV and maybe Ryse.

Just got back from GAME. I managed to pick up BF4 and AC:IV, yet I couldn't find Ryse anywhere in the store, I'm not sure if they had ran out of stock or I just wasn't looking hard enough.

When will there be a good selection of games out for X1, my birthday is in May and im trying to decide between xbox or wii u

It's been a month since I asked about the console and I was wondering the same thing again now it's after Christmas. Would you recommend the console now? Is it worth getting (I'll only be playing NFS Rivals and Forza 4 at the minute but more will come so that doesn't bother me)

But are there any problems appearing with the console etc?

And do people think that the storage space is sufficient?
