There a way to make the Bombushka useful?

Recommended Posts

Umbrance

Recently got the Bombushka, and me and some friends were messing around doing the usual things people do when get hadware that big with that amount of guns: rampaging. What stopped us was this guy in a Hydra, we thought we could take it but ended up being demolished by it's cannons. there a way to stop this? the maxed armor feels like it adds nothing to the plane. No point in having it if it cant survive against smaller planes, and when planes like the Rogue and the Starling can fill the role of a quick bomber, is there any use in keeping it other than the "its so awesome!!!1!!!" feeling when looking at it?

Thanks for the help.

The guns do have a very long range. All I can think is you get jets while they're at the end of that range. Easier said than done against a fast moving jet though.

Also, I've heard the top gun can aim basically straight up, which would be good for divebombing jets.

Ideally though, you should probably have someone else in another aircraft that can fight jets better.

You could land when you see a jet coming too, or have someone parachute out and use a homing launcher (to keep it busy) then explosive sniper.

This is how i made it work for me. I own the LSIA hanger. So I called in a peggy vehicle (to use as a target) and parked it right in the middle of the big X on the main runway. Then I brought out my Bombushka and proceeded to climb to about 1500 to 2000ft. From there I simply flew towards the target on the runway and did i few bombing runs at the same alt and same speed, until i hit my target. I should note that I always set a way point at the spot where I wanted to release my load, this way once I did hit my target I would know how far I have to drop them to hit a target at that height & speed again. Once I consistently hit the target. I landed the plane and got a piece of clear tape and marked the distance between where my peggy target was and the waypoint I used as a marker to drop the bombs. Stuck it on my minimap. And now I can consistently hit ground targets from about 2000ft.

Here is how I have my tape. You can see the permanent marker dot on the tape over my minimap. All I have to do is put that dot over my target at 2000ft and drop my load lol. Works everytime.

Nothing really stands against a Hydra/Lazer cannon. A Hunter is the only thing I've seen take a couple hits from it and not completely explode.

Sadly the Bombushka is little more than a gigantic flying pile of crap

lol! I also tried this with other planes, but it was really hard to get it right because they're much faster than the Bombushka. Also, if you do this. Its best to pick an altitude you want, I would go with around 2000ft because the bombs sometimes disappear when you get really high. And also, dont accelerate when approaching your target. Just let it cruise. This way you know your speed will be exactly the same eveytime. Then you'll only have to worry about keeping an eye on the altimeter, to get your altitude where you want it.

lol thanks. I use to do something similar when I sniped in BF games. I would put a little dot in the middle of the screen, that way I could already be aiming directly at their head before I even scoped in. Only with the planes on GTA I put the tape right above my blip on the minimap, with a little dot on the tape to indicate where the bombs will land. Whice at 2000ft you have to drop them about 800ft before the target.

Talk about balance and how much modding and glitches affected the developers.

You can destroy it with 3 explosive shots from the Heavy Sniper MK2 and 3 rockets from Homing Launcher.

Heavy sniper falloff range is set to 1500m, the Bombushka cannons have theirs set to 500m

I thought vehicles that require teamwork are supposed to be OP not the other way around.

Well, explosive snipers doesn´t makes sense anyway. This thing was a stupid idea right at the beginning.

Have the pilot ready to go into passive after taking damage by flying with the interaction menu up. This should be his second priority after not crashing. One of the crew should have a bushka as well so you have one in waiting after the first bomber takes damage. Utilize off the radar, ghost and blind eye.

Also 3 rockets from an APC.

Destroyed one yesterday when some genius decided to spawn it on the beach right next to where I was driving. Got a triple kill.

Also shot down one on Wednesday with the MKII Explosive Sniper. That was also a triple kill.

The Bombushka is a flying bus.

IMO, OP, only way to make it useful is to put in your Hangar storage and forget about it.

Phew, I was gonna' say "how are you bombs effective when they're dropped from 2000ft" but then yeah, I've also noticed that they seem to despawn after about 860ft or so - which is the same sort of altitude that planes lose their low-altitude speed restriction, so it kinda made sense.

For the Bombushka, you really have to make use of the cannon's range and put the aircraft in an attitude where it can be effective, but then there's really no way to protect against off the radar players unless one of the crew really is that eagle-eyed.
